Good morning Martin do you realize just how awesome you are? You are a very special person to do what you do with the birds I really admire you you have the simple life , that's what's it's all about to be HAPPY, you have a great day Martin God bless you
One of my favorite pastimes watching the birds at the feeders! The other day I had a bunch of eastern blue birds so beautiful!!! When my feeders are very low by the window they will sit there and stare at me like hey lady time to fill the feeders!!!!
I ever knew so many birds flying away would sounded like that ! .. Amazing .. I’ve never had that many birds .. I love your videos .. but this one may be my favorite
hi Martin ,video top,i I love this video, feed the birds, it proves that you have a big heart, I hope you are well, to the pleasure of other videos, many thanks sir.
Hi Martin, I sit in the evening and watch and re watch your video's, this video almost put me to sleep, by how calming, watching the little birds coming and going. Thank you!!
I have found the birds love eating at those half longs with a shallow channel cut out of the center. You need to keep the channel shallow because if they can't see over the edge they are hesitant to feed lest a Hawk sneaks in on them.
Wow - look at all the birds you helped. Great job. You served more happy customers than Old County Buffet that day. I might go broke on bird seed myself this year but it's all worth it. Cheers to you from Wisconsin.
I love the variety of birds. With the cold I bet they appreciate it. Kind of a 2 sided victory really they get feed and you get to watch and enjoy them. I call that a win in my books.
What an amazing group of feathered friends. We don’t have near the variety here in the North Georgia mountains. We do get the occasional migrationally-challenged birds that come our way. You my friend are blessed with a bountiful variety of birds. We have a few varieties for wood peckers but I’ve never seen a red headed one before. As always, love your videos!
This year we really have a larger variety than usual. The Rusty Blackbird is rare in the winter, Red Headed Woodpeckers are coming back but a bird in trouble, Pine Siskins and Common Redpoll are down from the north in good numbers this year.
Great video Martin, thanks for sharing. The Midwest has some excellent birding. For years we used to visit family in Iowa and springtime was always awesome for migrants in around the Iowa river area.
Amazing variety of birds, they sure know where their favorite benefactor lives! The Purple Finch was incredible, I'd never seen one before. Thanks for sharing Martin, hope you're well.
Thanks for another relaxing video, Martin. We mix 50 lbs of sunflower seeds with 50 lbs of cracked corn from the elevator and there's very little wastage. It's also much cheaper than buying pre-mixed commercial bird feed.
I’ve always wanted to turn my yard into a bird sanctuary but I have a tomcat named William, he will be 21 years old on May the first. He is pampered something awful so it could be awhile! He eats solid white albacore tuna anytime he wants it and sleeps on the softest pillow I can find( he has arthritis)😇😇😇 I said all of that to say this, I really enjoy your bird videos😇😇😇Have a blessed day😇😇😇
I used old Black Locust since it will not rot. Cut the log in half and them cut in a V. I learned to keep it shallow because the birds do not like it if they can't watch for incoming hawks.
How are you and your wife doing Martin? I'm just sitting here having a cup of coffee watching the birds. Nice video. I really love your log bird feeder by the window, such a neat idea. Also thank you for naming the types of birds for me. Right when I was wondering what type of bird it was the name popped up. You always capture the beauty of nature perfectly. 😊❤ By the way, that snowplow coming out of nowhere scared the cr@p out of me.😬😄Pardon my language. Y'all take care and have a great day.☕🐦❤
I was hoping to add somethings to the morning cups of coffee. I would have had that snowplow edited out but a recent windows update had my movie program giving me fits.
what a nice peaceful relaxing video. well done my friend!! thank you for letting us know what type of bird each one was and it's sex when you were able to tell. I enjoy your videos thank you
Here on Long island I feed the birds all winter long. not only do my feeders attract many different birds, the birds attract Sharpshinn hawks that take a bird or two off my feeders. Also squirrels have a field day on the open feeders and when i put out peanuts for the jays. Lots of fun to watch with the grand kids.
Everything needs to eat and we lose birds to the hawks too. Coopers Hawks are most prevalent but sometimes a Sharp-shinned is around too. Amazing how the birds know the difference and do not even stir if a Red-tailed Hawk cruises over but scatter if one of the accipiters mentioned above are coming in.
We were able to cross-country ski hear in N. IL for the first time all year. We got so much snow (14 inches) in the last week that we surpassed the totals for the last two years. Melting fast now though.
I really like watching them. I live in the country so pick up any road killed deer and put them out in a field that I can view from my chair. Bald Eagles, Crows and Red-tailed Hawk enjoy the handout.
I love to feed them birds too and then sit and watch them the year Mo. had that big freeze I went and stocked up on bird seed that was my entertainment for 3 weeks straight they have a really hard time when they can’t get to anything a lot of birds died that year they froze to the trees
Very nice, I also help the birds in the winter. I get a lot of squirrels raiding the bird feeders, and sometimes hawks picking off a bird . Do you have squirrels there or hawks ? Keep on keeping on and Best of luck always and thanks for sharing your videos.
I feed the birds everyday. last year when I put more seed out, I had a female cardinal squaking and given me the business. I think it was march and it snowed that day. never had a cardinal right up at my face. even thou it was only march and there was snow I think they may have had babies. I also get 1 or 2 red headed wood peckers in the winter. I nick name them big red.
My brother has had his liver transplant and even mowed part of his yard last week. I will be back in canoe country first and then really looking forward to a long stay at the cabin. Thanks everyone for your concern.
My brother has had his liver transplant and even mowed part of his yard last week. I will be back in canoe country first and then really looking forward to a long stay at the cabin. Thanks everyone for your concern.
A lot of Tree Sparrows, Juncos, Mourning Doves, Red Bellied Woodpeckers, Downy and Hairy Woodpeckers, House Finches and Purple Finches. Goldfinches too with the Tufted Titmice and Blue Jays. Pine Siskins visited this year in good numbers.
TheNorthwoodsman1 .... I wish the hawks around here would take out the ground squirrels but I think they must be lazy hawks. I’m just a few miles from San Diego and about five years ago started hearing some white throated sparrows near our house. They must have gotten blown down here in a storm or something because I’ve been all over California and these sparrows are the only ones I’ve ever heard/seen out here. I love their calls. Reminds me of family trips we took up to Lake Huron in Ontario. Very peaceful sound and good memories.
We always have some over winter here. The Rusty Blackbird, Red-headed Woodpecker and White-throated Sparrow were special hold overs this year. A lone Common Redpoll did not show up in any of the videos.
Hey Mr, looks like you have problems with birds there. Maybe you should get on to the council and see if they can help. Maybe trap them and release elsewhere. Something needs doing. LOL 😁👍 Wonderful video as always. Woody was a handsome bird. ,,,, see my channel for Greater spotted woodpecker 🐶👍👊

They know we are in there and have ways of telling us what they need.
Look at all the help you gave to the smallest flying critters of the woods . Your kindness is definitely noticed .
You are welcome, I feed them and they return so much more with their antics.
Hi Martin, I sit in the evening and watch and re watch your video's, this video almost put me to sleep, by how calming, watching the little birds coming and going. Thank you!!
Thanks Frank, my mornings are spend watching that bird feeder.
Thank you for sharing your winter Wonderland, and all your feather friends, beautiful.
They made for a nice view from my stove side chair at the picture window.
I can’t believe how many birds you get! Very beautiful, love the idea of the feeder log.
I have found the birds love eating at those half longs with a shallow channel cut out of the center. You need to keep the channel shallow because if they can't see over the edge they are hesitant to feed lest a Hawk sneaks in on them.
As always Martin a big thumbs up and big smile! Thanks for sharing the on goings of all of your guests at the dining halls at home!
Glad you found it entertaining.
Absolutely beautiful. Amazing to watch.
I enjoy watching the birds, especially in winter with a nice cup of coffee and nowhere to be.
Regards
Mark
I know what you mean, a lot of hours are enjoyed at that window.
Wow - look at all the birds you helped. Great job. You served more happy customers than Old County Buffet that day. I might go broke on bird seed myself this year but it's all worth it. Cheers to you from Wisconsin.
They are going through seed pretty fast, about 80 pounds a week of cracked corn and sunflower with thistle as a treat.
I love the variety of birds. With the cold I bet they appreciate it. Kind of a 2 sided victory really they get feed and you get to watch and enjoy them. I call that a win in my books.
Yes, it is a nice situation for us all.
So relaxing to watch the birds eating! Thanks for the video Martin.😀
You are welcome.

Great video Martin, thanks for sharing. The Midwest has some excellent birding. For years we used to visit family in Iowa and springtime was always awesome for migrants in around the Iowa river area.
I have had an extra special variety this winter. Pine Siskins and Common Redpolls have moved in too.
Amazing variety of birds, they sure know where their favorite benefactor lives! The Purple Finch was incredible, I'd never seen one before. Thanks for sharing Martin, hope you're well.
We have had more species than normal this year. Cone crops up north fail and the birds head for my place.
What a beautiful variety of birds you have.
By Memphis we have huge groups of Robins going through now. My dad used to love northern Illinois when the Robins started showing up in March.
With migrating birds things are always changing in the yard. A Song Sparrow showed up for the first time this winter.
Thanks for another relaxing video, Martin. We mix 50 lbs of sunflower seeds with 50 lbs of cracked corn from the elevator and there's very little wastage. It's also much cheaper than buying pre-mixed commercial bird feed.
We use cracked corn too and note that it is the first choice on cold mornings.
The junco's sound always reminds me of a ray gun on Star Wars!
Hey Martin I think I recognize some of those gold finches that I fed all spring , summer and fall up here at Lake of the Woods Canada
looks like my Mom's property in P.A.,only she gets deer and wild turkey too! Just took her on a food run to the feed store last week.
I am heading in for more bird seed this afternoon.
Beautiful mix of species there,I always look forward to the robins then I know spring is near
A lot of birds their but no Robins. The contrast makes it hard to figure out what some of them are.
In spring I usually get the male red winged black birds signing in the reeds before the robins....
I have to admit this is the longest video I have ever watched about birds
I tried to make it long enough for a large cup of coffee to be enjoyed.
Ohhhh! I just don't like Winter any more! My gosh there are a lot of birds that gather at your feeders! Thank you for showing us!!! LOL Judie
All the birds provide me entertainment when I choose to remain next to my woodstove.
I’ve always wanted to turn my yard into a bird sanctuary but I have a tomcat named William, he will be 21 years old on May the first. He is pampered something awful so it could be awhile! We have had cats in the past too but not now. They are natural hunters and do not mix with a bird sanctuary.
absolutely beautiful...
Thanks
Lovely birds :-)
They sure add to my enjoyment in the winter months.
Love the 1/2 log feeder under the window I'm going to make one , futureyooper
I used old Black Locust since it will not rot. Cut the log in half and them cut in a V. I learned to keep it shallow because the birds do not like it if they can't watch for incoming hawks.

Martin super video!!! ☺🐝🌻🕊😇
I know where the Junco's at your cabin came from . . . ;>)
I should tie some ribbons on a few.
what a nice peaceful relaxing video. well done my friend!! thank you for letting us know what type of bird each one was and it's sex when you were able to tell. I enjoy your videos thank you
Thanks, I wanted to do more on the IDs but my editing program kept timing out so I had to limit it.
My dogs used to watch the front yard through our picture window. I called it "squirrel TV".
We have had cats in the past, one really stayed lean as it sat quivering at the window all day.
Here on Long island I feed the birds all winter long. not only do my feeders attract many different birds, the birds attract Sharpshinn hawks that take a bird or two off my feeders. Great variety of birds. I enjoy watching the birds as well. Thank You.
Glad you liked it.
I love to feed the birds , it has been very chilly here in Northern California also . Just a little ice each morning . Winter not over yet .
We were able to cross-country ski hear in N. IL for the first time all year. We got so much snow (14 inches) in the last week that we surpassed the totals for the last two years. Melting fast now though.
Great entertainment, can watch em for hrs . I feed crows now and then
I really like watching them. I live in the country so pick up any road killed deer and put them out in a field that I can view from my chair. Bald Eagles, Crows and Red-tailed Hawk enjoy the handout.
nice collection of birds
It has been an extra special year.
Ahhh Yes The 16:31 T V Show Best entertainment out there,Martin. ATB Ter God Bless
Yes and no commercials to ruin the flow.
Been awhile Martin,
Nice to see another video from you
I saw all those birds and figured it would be interesting to some.
I love to feed them birds too and then sit and watch them the year Mo. had that big freeze I went and stocked up on bird seed that was my entertainment for 3 weeks straight they have a really hard time when they can’t get to anything a lot of birds died that year they froze to the trees
Happy Birds!
Yes they are.
very relaxing video...
Thanks
Winters like the past one are Brutal on Birds!! Feeders bring various species together that wouldn't normally interact 4 a Feedin' Frenzzy!!
This is my favorite TV screen when I am at home in Illinois, just looking out the picture window at the feeders.
TheNorthwoodsman1 ... Martin are you OK ?
Haven’t heard from you. Are you staying warm?
Hope you had a blessed Easter!
TheNorthwoodsman1 Martin, how are you doing? Love your videos.
Thank you Martin
A little different than the cabin but they keep me entertained here in Illinois.
Wow, those birds are hungry!
Had to buy more seed again today.
Very nice, I also help the birds in the winter. I get a lot of squirrels raiding the bird feeders, and sometimes hawks picking off a bird . Do you have squirrels there or hawks ? Keep on keeping on and Best of luck always and thanks for sharing your videos.
This year the hawks that eat birds seem to be hunting the neighbors feeders more than ours. Red-tailed Hawk keep my squirrel numbers pretty low.
The storm isn't quiet finished with us yet. We have to be well over a foot by now.
We got by on the light side compared to what they had forecast.
Man, lots of birdies there. :)
It was a little more crowded than normal.
If this was my yard there would be 2 or 3 squirrels messing it up for everyone!! LOL
love this video, feed the birds
I’m trying to identify the little gray ground feeders. Are they juncos? We have them in Maine.
Yes they solid gray birds were Juncos.
Another good one!
Thanks
We feed birds as well, I can spend hours watching them. That is until work gets in the way. Ha Ha
Some days I can drain the coffee pot watching the feeders, the chores can wait.
yes sir, that was a another hit right there. thanks
The birds did put on quite a show for us.
We enjoyed the video. I have photos and a video of our cat stalking your birds,,,lol
I can see where all those birds calling would bring in the cats. They can be funny when glass separates them.
Always new antics with the birds around.
Remember Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds.
Nice variety of birds Martin, Mr Blue Jay seems to rule the roost? Are the red birds cardinals?, Thanks for sharing
The all red birds are male Cardinals, females a browner tone.
Busy little place lol
It made for a pretty hectic day for some of them.
When is the next trip to the cabin?
I think the snow will be gone when I go again. The trails are so clogged with down trees from the storms that it limits what I can do there.
Fun to see thanks.
I was hoping it would be enjoyed.
Are we waiting for the spring trip to the cabin?
I think so.
Love it!
We are getting warn here now and the birds have really thinned out.
Great vid Martin...for some reason bird activity at my feeders this winter has been scarce....I think it's the hawks.....
They have to eat too...
I usually have a hawk come by every hour but I think they have found my neighbors feeders to be less protected and easier to prey on.
Yes mine is out in open...easy pickins
Awesome!
I just got back from a trip to the feed store, the seed was going fast.
Hello Martin. Hope your doing ok, take care.
I skipped a spring visit to the cabin to assist my brother who has had a liver transplant. All is well.
TheNorthwoodsman1 God bless your brother and all the family.
Best wishes from here in the uk.
Everything ok ? I love your videos
My brother has had his liver transplant and even mowed part of his yard last week. I will be back in canoe country first and then really looking forward to a long stay at the cabin. Thanks everyone for your concern.
TheNorthwoodsman1 sorry to hear about your brother .glad you're ok
Where's Martin been? Sure hope he's ok, miss his videos....
My brother has had his liver transplant and even mowed part of his yard last week. I will be back in canoe country first and then really looking forward to a long stay at the cabin. Thanks everyone for your concern.
like the video. just a few birds then.
LOL, I need to make a run to town for more seed. 80 pounds a week with numbers like this.
give us a list of the birds my book are for western species, thanx R.
Are those black oil sunflower seeds? If so, the squirrels in my back yard would have a field day.
Yes, they are black sunflower. I do have a few squirrels but the Red-tailed Hawks keep them in check.
I was thinking the same thing. Where are the squirrels?
TheNorthwoodsman1 .... I wish the hawks around here would take out the ground squirrels but I think they must be lazy hawks.
I’m just a few miles from San Diego and about five years ago started hearing some white throated sparrows near our house.

@@TheNorthwoodsman1 That just answered my thought about the squirrels
Gosh if I feed birds like that I'd be invaded with grey squirrel's!
Fortunately for me and unfortunate for the squirrels is that they are vulnerable to the Red-tail Hawks when venturing into my yard.
How far is it from your home to the cabin ? Thanks
It comes down to being prepared for the conditions. It is a 600 mile drive to the cabin and takes 10 hours.
Looks like my yard in Pickering , Ontario. Brian 77
It sure made far an enjoyable view as I took rest breaks from the winter chores.
It's almost been 6 months since an upload, are you ok?
Been helping a brother through a liver transplant but all is well now.
what was that,a snow plow ,I thought this place was hard to get to
Note that that video was not numbered with the cabin series. It was at my home in IL. Sorry for the confusion.
you should get a painting suit, their a cheap onepiece suit, put honey and bird feed on it,and get them to feed all over you like bees.
Cool.
Thanks
surprised to see the doves.
We always have some over winter here. The Rusty Blackbird, Red-headed Woodpecker and White-throated Sparrow were special hold overs this year. A lone Common Redpoll did not show up in any of the videos.
Nice thanks
You are welcome
Hey Mr, looks like you have problems with birds there. Maybe you should get on to the council and see if they can help. Maybe trap them and release elsewhere. Something needs doing. LOL 😁👍 Wonderful video as always. Woody was a handsome bird. ,,,, see my channel for Greater spotted woodpecker 🐶👍👊
Thanks, I will check it out.
Nortwoodsman Buddha
dont have birds like that in the adirondacks
Well then I gave you a new view for the day.
