Thanks... awesome to hear his story! It's been a dream of mine since childhood to find something like that... unfortunately I've lived in Louisiana most of my life and very few gemstones 15 minutes outside New Orleans 😂. So thanks for allowing me to live vicariously through you guys for a few moments....
Living on the Texas Gulf Coast, I know the feeling of having 50, 000 ft of sedimentary mud underfoot. Unless you can get to a salt dome, there is little chance of finding any interesting mineralization.
As a geologist and mineral collector I always enjoy your videos and great scientific explanations! Great job and keep up with the geologist death rays from the eyes when Natalie drops a specimen!🤣🤣
Snyderite Opals are the best stones in AZ. It’s also the first class A gem to have been discovered by a female!-)
Incredible host - Beautiful specimens !!
I am so so so happy that you made a video based on AZ minerals and crystals. I have become so fascinated in rockhounding and the education about it. I have hiked to the Four Peaks mine and found tons of Amethyst tailings there. Calcite, Payson Diamonds, tons of colorful agates, Chrysoprase, Chrysocolla, fossils and petrified wood all around north AZ myself on my hikes. Thank you
loved the petrified wood with groutite. apparently it's part of the diaspore group, but it has manganese instead of aluminum in its lattice.
another mineral that grows on (coalified) wood is the newly-discovered fiemmeite, a copper oxalate hydroxide. i looove the combination of the blue-green blades of fiemmeite and the black of the charred wood. very aesthetically pleasing
I love Arizona a d am fortunate enough to have 4 brothers-in-law that worked the mines. Two work The deep rock mins of Superior. I am a inveterate rock lover and for almost 40 yrs I was gifted mineral and rock specimans. We went on many rock hunting jaunts. I'm not able to climb cliff or crawl into holes any longer and I miss it so, therefore I watch your present and remember TBE fine of yesterday and the lovely rocks I have in MT yard in my house in jewelry the joy is endless. Thank you so much, Mona M.
I live in Arizona! 🏜❤️ I have a large collection of chalcedony from taking walks/hikes through the desert lol. My favorite Arizona mineral is chrysocolla for sure 💙
i think this is one of the coolest videos I've seen in a while. well done
Boy, one thing that I love about living in Arizona is the beautiful desert landscape it has. Geological masterpieces and wonderous mountain landscapes and forests. I love seeing the places, not a fan of the heat though. Also, you mispronounced Mohave and Ajo. Ajo is pronounced "ah-ho" and Mohave is pronounced "mo-hav- ay".
This video was amazing. I live in Arizona by Cavecreek and never knew all the gems that come from here. Do you have a exhibit at the Tuscan gem show? Would love to meet and see all the beautiful gems in person. My love of this channel is the education..Thanks so much. Our planet is truly an amazing place that created all these Minerals and crystals
It is! We do usually have an exhibit at the gem show. But in the meantime, if you're in Tucson, be sure to check out the Alfie Norville Gem & Mineral Museum. Elizabeth designed many of the displays.
Elizabeth, you are the greatest thing on UA-cam.
Great video 😊.
Maybe a video with the most representative gem or mineral of every State of USA 🤔
I like this host, she’s not laughing non-stop, she doesn’t pretend to not know what the specimens are before talking about them, AND she says mineral specimens instead of calling them gems all the time like the other hosts!
I’ve watched like half of all your videos today, good stuff don’t mean to be knit picky ! but this is the best host I’ve seen yet, talks more naturally, feels less like there’s a script.
she's great!
An interesting thing about the old mine in Bisbee. They eventually turned it into a giant open pit mine and yes, they took a LOT of gold and copper out of that mine. The funny part is that when you drive through Bisbee, on one side of the road there is the giant open pit mine and on the other side of the road is a rather large mountain. Anyway they did a lot of core sampling back in the 1980s and they found out that they dug on the wrong side of the road! Several companies have tried to go in and get the rights to mine it, but the city refuses to allow them to create another open pit mine to extract it, because the Copper Queen pit never got filled in the way the mining company promised it would. So now all of that gold and copper is just sitting there underground with no chance the city will ever issue permits for mining it. Not to mention the fact that whoever did it would have to buy out all of the people that have built houses on the side of the mountain.
Came for the story, stayed for the Eye of the World cover.
Very interesting and entertaining information on many Arizona mines and sites. There are also other turquoise mines not mentioned. Most all the turquoise mines and mining in AZ was just tailings from copper mining....not the main target for mining. Also there are the "Payson diamonds" near Payson, AZ, ie the double terminated quartz crystals similiar to "Herkemer diamonds"
Excellent video on all those AZ specimens. Super great pieces you have. We have some great stuff in this state. Thanks for sharing your gemstones collection
Thanks for watching!
Love living in Arizona! Even love the heat! (Its the desert after all!) Lol and love learning all the awesome gems and minerals found here
I'm actually from kingman and it's so weird hearing someone talk about my little town
Love this video, thank you! JTV needs to open a gem and mineral museum.
This is another amazing episode! 😍 I want to visit Arizona someday! That's in my bucket list for sure..
You forgot Fire Agate, so you should dedicate a whole show to this very unknown gem!
they'll do a video on fire agate if they want to. (it's also not that unknown by the way)
@@somethinginthewalls388 Go north and and ask people what it is. I personally have had to explain and show so Many this unique gem. Even most of the locals who live here in AZ are unaware of it. Besides doesnt hurt to ask to do a video on a gem. Specially when you missed one while doing gem stones from a state. That would be doing a video of gems from New York and not talking about Herkimers.
I hope you didn't miss our Viewer Requests video! ua-cam.com/video/ZwV49xj6lUM/v-deo.html
You were a big reason we made it
@@somethinginthewalls388 so unnecessarily rude.
Sweet! Love Arizona! It likens to Madagascar. I believe the Grand Canyon has uranium. There have been protests against mining it. Lots of info, love the rocks, and mapping the general areas. Loved it💗💎👍
Love your show on Arizona. Reminds me how much I loved living southern end of US.
Thanks so much for including some of the historical names! It helps me so much in my research!!!
Another excellent video! Thank you for the explanations, great job.
This was awesome!
Thank you.
Beautiful crystals! I personally love fluorescent pieces as much as crystals. I wish you did a quick check to see if any specimens showed any worth viewing, especially curious about the Aragonite and Cerussite, which sometimes glows yellow because of the lead.
I love anything and all things rocks and or gems. My hobby. Really enjoyed your show.
Thanks for watching!
love the knowledge and love listening to her
Thank you. That was cool
What a interesting video about these gemstones in Arizona.🗺 All of them look very unique even some I never knew and the mines that they come from.😯💎 My favorite is the scepter amethyst, it's very pretty and cute.💜💎 Nice video😊👍 and how about talking about Canada🇨🇦💎next.
I'm watching this video again 😂 a lot of my first specimens are from Yavapai county, and I got to pan for gold in Jerome!
Amazing specimens!♥️
Awesome .. love this
Ths was a terrific show! Thanks so much!
Glad you enjoyed it!
And here we also have a gem in flannels. Lol
Awesome awesome sweet excitement you show for the minerals sweet fantastic knowledge fantastic samples awesome the history shown awesome fantastic video thank you
I got to go to the Tuscon gem and mineral show last year for my 20th birthday.
Loved the Copperized wood 😍😍😍😍
1:30 I also love wulfenite from there; I have a nice very well formed fiery orange crystal cluster and man is the color something else! Only thing I own that comes close to that lava like orange is my oval cut spessartine but wulfenite still takes the crown for color 💎
Awesome thank you
Wonderful video young lady. If you have liked this stuff like I do you will be thrilled buy it for the rest of your life, I am now 71 years old and I my still pickup a rock that my Dad called liva-right I would pick it up and he ask what is this he called them liva-right as leve it right there😉 You missed one look up mercury ore (cinnabar) in Arizona very interesting history.
Awesome!! would of been nice to see Bisbee Turquoise... that copper artifact was cool with the copper inside... great video of AZ
Very nice gemstone, i like it
There is a copper mine at the bottom of the Grand Canyon that's no longer active because it's in the park.
Like everyone, I *always* skip youtube ads ASAP; however, this video popped in as an ad and I watched it ALL! Promptly came here and subbed - how about that youtube, an ad actually worked. I am from Silver City NM and often went rockhounding in AZ with the family!
Glad to hear it! Welcome to the channel!
I knew that there are Lots of gemstones in Arizona but I didn't realize that there's that many
I work in the morenci mine! So while we DO produce minerals outside of copper, they do not produce it for production. We actually "waste" chrysocolla and other minerals into dump sites or creating roads. For legal reasons I have a ton of chrysocolla specimens I found in my back yard! I also have a gem Silica specimen and chrysoprase I found in my back yard! As well as a piece of hematite with garnet
Wow awesome video ✨
Thank you!
I have found peridotite, lepidolite, peridot and placer gold in Yuma county.
Please try to pick up silica gems from Indonesia or Chrysocolla in chalcedony from Bacan Island.. it's the best silica gem.. or pick up black opal or wood opal from Indonesia from Banten Island which has the best and most beautiful play of color formation
I remember i had a feild trip to the gold mines i was able to keep the gemstones from the mining activity and i dont know what gemstones they are(i live in a state near flordia and atlantic ocean)
Please do Nevada, especially Northern Nevada. TY
Is there diopside, tremolite, and/or nephrite in arizona too?? I've only ever seen people try flog off Basanite as "black jade" from arizona....
A non-stone gem of Arizona is the Arizona GhostRiders. They keep the history of the West alive.
Is the Morenci Azurite mine, mined out?
Yasss loves it!
There is good Brochantite from the Grand canyon.
Nice
Take a shot every time she says “actually”
I would like to see an episode about South Dakota.
Gem silica is the most beautiful semi precious stone
Did you enjoy the barbacoa from the trucks? How about the cabeza tacos?
I like when she nerds out lol
how did you not bring up Bisbee turquoise its so beautiful
I found a pocket of minerals and I have been searching for help identifying truly unique stones. You guys are excellent, thank you. Can anyone help me with my issue. Specific gravity indicates rare minerals and gems but I must know for sure. My local north museum, and college with meteorology are not interested; therefore are no help. I am concerned about natural asbestos also. I believe there is a lot interesting crystals of course, being in crystal territory in PA. I found what looks to be a very important and rare discovery of many incredible things. I so very much need help figuring out what exactly I have stumbled upon in my newly reanimated rock collecting hobby I started again two years ago. I found something wonderful and I am hopeful one of your team may possibly be willing to come and check the scene. Let me know. Thnx and take care
you forgot parson diamonds and fire agates and planet mine chalcanthite; other than that you did great!
Gniiii!here xD cute noise xD
I lived n will being going back to a.z this spring. I found aquamarine crystals sticking out of a white quartz vain and I can't seem to find anyone who has found them there.
You can’t mine in Yellowstone National Park. It is federally protected. Plus indigenous tribes live in the park as well.
18:54 what is that snappin on left audiochannel every 3 seconds? last until 19:36
About 30 years ago I was visiting family in Arizona and I found a fingernail sized orange crystal out in the desert. I am trying to track down it's identity.
Mem i have 3 4 pieces stone how to test it?
Chrysotile asbestose is not the really dangerous kind. That one is reibekite and it causes mesothelioma.
When your in Tucson lmk
I wish we had enough time to see some of the specimens. The camera man often breezed by specimens, choosing to focus on Elizabeth.

bagai mana cara nya menghubungi anda saya juga punya beberapa jenis bebatuan
Also if you take rocks from The Petrified Forest you may end up in a hit and run 😉
Let’s see anthill garnet?
What about "anthill garnet"?
Unfortunately, we couldn't get to every cool stone Arizona has to offer. But we did make a video specifically about anthill garnet here:ua-cam.com/video/MA6738VSD0c/v-deo.html
@@gems Thank you so much. I think the gorgeous red of these garnets is as special as their recovery.
1:41👀
Went to Arizona and didn't gather any Saffordite? Ooooookay...
2:49 candle s***

Ajo is pronounced “ah-ho”.
Ajo is pronounced ah ho
Where's Natalie? She's so dreamy 😍
Natalie or the this geologist lady.? (Also two Of the least cool US states (AZ actually isn’t SO bad...)).
@@bequakynskagroupie3751 Natalie... She's so cute andshe probably wouldn't complain about me dragging rocks home
It's pronounced Aho
It's ah-ho not a-joe
Yeah, that was a little painful.
''Ah-Joe'', really? Just might be pronounced ''Ah-Ho''.
The pronounciation of "Mazatzal," by the people who live there is not at all phonetic - there is no way to know how to pronounce it, unless someone tells you. It is pronounced, quite illogically, : "Mah - tah - zal." Also Ajo is pronounced in the Spanish fashion : Ah - ho (I know, I lived there.)
