New! first time collecting daffodil seeds - and sowing them instead of bulbs!

  • Rogers long search for the beautiful Daffodil Cyclamineus over he last 10 years or more led him to discover that you don't really find them as bulbs ... so after buying a few plants last autumn, they flowered wonderfully this spring and have since set some seed pods which are now ripe and bursting with seeds ...
    So in this video Roger collects the seeds and sows them quickly into some well drained Ericaceous compost to see if we can raise our own seedlings for the years ahead ...

    cyclamineus is distinct from other Narcissus in that it needs really moist soil that does't dry out in summer. I grow it in a pot too but keep it moist in shade where the narcissus fly will not get it

      Hi, thanks for getting in touch, not much to update yet ... unfortunately something was digging the compost / seeds out of the pot last summer (squirrels or birds we think) ... hoping we may still get a few seedlings but nothing as yet ....
