This can not happen FAST ENOUGH!!! 🎉 San Antonio NEEDS to put these highways underground to increase foot traffic and interest in downtown. San Antonio has an opportunity to thrive in the coming decades if we keep up the good work to urbanize & densify.
I could easily see the old federal courthouse being used for events such as Cirque du Soleil’s big top shows. Gives Cirque more of an incentive to have residencies in San Antonio as they don’t have to assemble and disassemble a big top themselves
That new 1,000 room convention center hotel could have easily been a 50 story tower instead of another squat wall... such a wasted opportunity and more proof that San Antonio has a fear of building highrises. Nothing about these designs embody anything "world class", the tag phrase they like throwing around but never achieve. San Antonio will never have skyscrapers.
