My uncle has this pinball machine. Me and my cousins loved this so much, we would quote it to no end. We must build an atomic blaster! Multibaaaaaall! Mamma Mia! The Martians are destroying the tower of Pisa!
Played in a back room at a bar as a child. My dad drank while I hung out in the restaurant portion of the place. Eating cashews and playing this. This was in Pittsburgh 1999 or 2000 I think.
How can you not love this game? I suppose if you wore yourself out on it, but I love these Bally & Williams games from the late 90's, they just have an awesome vibe & play wonderfully
High score #2?!?! That was an epic seven-ball game of AFM. If you have two scores better than 17.36B, you must have had an amazing session going on that machine. No ball trapping... you're live action through the entire game. Losing your first ball to the right outlane after landing a nearly perfect combination of left-ramp to saucer really stinks. Then to finish the game on that dead-ball nudge?! I can't say that I have ever seen someone reach the Mars attack. Really wish there were more gameplay videos like this one. Thank you.
Nice restoration job, Matt! I am familiar with this machine by name only but it appears to play well, has good lights and sounds, and I like the action of the Saucer and Martians. It does appear the slings are a bit weak or insensitive. I bet it really pops with the color DMD.
They had one of these at a Walmart distribution center in the truckers lounge. It was a lot of fun. It seemed there was always a Walmart driver playing it until it broke and was replaced by a Rolling Stones pinball.
Btw, I think a more valid comparison is medieval madness. AFM and MM are very similar. While the majority of people prefer medieval madness, which I love, I still prefer AFM. It's so much fun going for rule the universe for me no matter how many times i do it lol
Even though attack from Mars and revenge from Mars are from Williams electronics.. And had a Golden goose that laid a golden egg with the review of pinball 2000 machines.. Incorporating pinball machines and arcade machines.. At the same time.. But NA! Williams electronics says. We can focus on slot machines and gambling devices.. Fuck our history on pinball machines.. And pinball 2000 should be part of the new generation of arcade games.
Great job on this game, although RFM has a deeper set of rules to it, I really enjoy this one, I wish you lived closer so I could make you an offer on it =)
Man id almost give everything I own for a Attack from Mars pinball machine, they are so rare now and if you find one they go anywhere from $10,000 upwards especially if they are refurbished already already :(
Yes it's a nice game but RFM is better! The switches on the slings needed adjusting, this was a early shakedown game after the playfield swap. The colour DMD just needed the latest software, I should have looked into it before I filmed it!!

AFM....Nice and loud...tons of audio effects....great theming...not a hard pin for beginners to play....and a ridiculous amount of points!!! What's not to love about this table?? I'll never sell mine!!

Actually, this is the first pinball machine that I'm seeing being played with real and multiple balls at the same time.

This is classic and far better than RFM, if you ask me. Used to play this with my dad at the local laundromat for hours until they took it away.
