It's so fab to get this update. Me and my year group went to Alton around a couple of days after the crash. I remember Leah and what happened to her, especially. So happy for them may they have a lifetime of happiness.
@@dscrerar1111 because it obviously wouldn't happen again? I go every year- I'm going tomorrow. I also went about a week after the crash had happened. No crashes like this in Alton Towers have ever happened. Closest thing to it was on the Runaway Mine Train where the carriages got halved back in 2006. Everyone who went to the hospital (6) for a check-up due to whiplash/ abdominal pain, all left the same day. Otherwise it's been rider issues like a young boy somehow managed to get into the Nemesis ride restricted area in 2002 and got hit by a train, and a girl broke her wrists on Rita due to holding onto the bars before the ride sent in 2005. Nobody has ever died due to Alton Towers rides.
Such a beautiful, well spoken, mature couple. You can just tell that they’re soulmates. They share a bond that can’t be manufactured. Wishing them a lifetime of happiness together ❤❤
It’s wonderful to see the relationship lasted even past their shared experience. And great for them to have had each other to get through their recovery. Amazing people. I would not be as strong as these days
So nice to see an update from these 2. I remember this crash so vividly. I remember seeing interviews from them after and often wondered how they were. Congrats to them both! 🍾🥂
Delighted for Joe and Leah, congratulations to you both. They and Victoria have overcome the physical and psychological challenges of the horrendous accident at such young ages. My mum is nearly 90 and unfortunately she had to undergo an above knee amputation of one of her legs. She has been through a very long journey but she has been determined, hugely independent, stubborn and just hugely hugely brave. She now lives at home, with minimal visits from carers, and though her life is very different, she continues to push herself in her rehabilitation and recovery. She has been encouraged by the incredible staff at Derby Royal amputation department, who have high expectations, positivity and such kindness. I honestly thought they were just trying to keep her spirits up. However she had her prosthetic leg made and is on the ardous and tough journey to walk independently. I quickly realised that though losing a limb it is life changing and deeply traumatic, it is not the end of a person, whether they are old or young. I'm sorry for the essay. I just wanted to that these lovely young people have overcome so much, in a different way to my mum, but the positivity and courage is the same. ❤
My partner and I were there on the day and saw this awful event, it’s so lovely to see after everything they’ve been through they got their fairy tale that they deserve❤️
Me and my brother and law were waiting in queue for this ride for over 45 mins, just to eventually be told they had to close it as something wasn't quite right with it, this tragic event happened a few days after that, such a shame, great to see them still going strong though🤗
Merlin managed to keep a lot of what really went wrong very quiet. Even with the HSE court case, many of their tragic failures are still not publicly known. They made sure to treat the victims extremely well which is although noble of them does not excuse the cover-up that continues to this day.
There was a lot of reaction after this about how dangerous rollercoasters can be, but make no mistake, if left down to the coaster and its sensors and safety procedures this would never have happened. This was human error and training failures and the fault lies with Merlin, not the ride. Still, so happy that these two could have such a silver lining out of such a devastating situation.
I went alton towers in 2020 just before covid was on smiler went round once and it nearly went round again 😳, glad there is a happy story from the accident though feels like yesterday since I heard about this
I read the description before watching... In the description, it says her right leg. But from looking at the thumbnail.... isn't it actually her left leg? 🤔🤷♀️
I find it funny that some people get confused with the location of Alton Towers and think that it’s in Alton Hampshire when it’s actually up north. I had a couple ask me once and then I told them they needed to go up north 😂
Weirdly I live near a village called Thorpe which is actually only 10 minutes from Alton Towers, but everyone thinks it is Thorpe Park, which is down South and probably less than an hour from the Alton in Hampshire
Something wasn't right. They had to tell you that something wasn't right? If you was stood in the queue then you would have seen and definitely heard the crash because the ride goes directly overhead everybody who's stood in the queue.
That isn't anyone's business. Whatever it was, I guarantee that they would swap the money straight back if they could return to life before the huge trauma and physical injuries. Don't you agree?
Went on The Smiler the last time i went to Alton Towers. Best ride I've been on. Sat at the front kinda hoping we had a repeat. A leg for a few million? Was willing to take that chance.
😂😂😂nothing to do with everything they’ve been through together and the fact they started off like any other couple must be the compo! Seriously why even say that!!!!!!

This is so heartwarming. It was a tragedy the accident happened but there's a silver lining in every cloud no matter how dark

She looked amazing in her wedding dress.

How wonderful from such a tragic accident 👏🎉💖

I wouldn't say there was a cover up. A human overrode the safety features inbuilt on the ride
what did they cover up? how do you know there was a cover-up if it was...covered up?
You can't say all that and offer nothing
I went alton towers in 2020 just before covid was on smiler went round once and it nearly went round again 😳, glad there is a happy story from the accident though feels like yesterday since I heard about this
thats what it's meant to do 😭 it has 2 lifts, 1 normal and 1 vertical, if not there are multiple trains that go around at the same time
How sad 😢
She’s gorgeous and hasn’t aged a bit!!!
She’s only 26 haha

Why are they making a big deal about him getting emotional? It’s a big day for him and men can be emotional too…
I read the description before watching... In the description, it says her right leg. But from looking at the thumbnail.... isn't it actually her left leg? 🤔🤷♀️
No, it’s her right leg
It’s her left. Dermot even said. They should change the description, out of respect.
It's 100% her left leg
@@sarahserra1630 did you not watch the video?
on their first date☹️how sad
I'd love to know what compensation they got!
a couple million ..but no amount of money is gonna get that leg back she lost i'd of rather kept my leg.

what?
I was there that day, was awful. Helicopter after helicopter turning up.
Both minted now
yeh but it could of gone the other way both dead now just as easily...don't think id want to lose my leg for any amount of millions.
Jesus loves you all❤❤❤
What is it with brides demanding their partner cries at the wedding???
She has a nice knee and leg not even trolling she’s pretty af
😂
Not Dermot O'Dreary trying to be funny
Everybodys getting paried up but me😢😠😡
How old are you?
the ones who moan about not being paired up will never be paired up..keep moaning.
that wedding must have cost an arm and a leg.
Nice couple, interviewers cringey 🙈
Would love to know how much money they got from that accident
That isn't anyone's business. Whatever it was, I guarantee that they would swap the money straight back if they could return to life before the huge trauma and physical injuries. Don't you agree?
Stay single
Allison is not up to the job. Stick to big brother
Well he would stay with her his life is set as she got paid £2million I hope she’s done pre nup
so what if they are now married people get married every day why are they so special
because they both nearly died in a freak rollercoaster accident at one of the most famous theme parks in the world.
Went on The Smiler the last time i went to Alton Towers. Best ride I've been on. Sat at the front kinda hoping we had a repeat. A leg for a few million? Was willing to take that chance.
how sad are you🙄
Only married her because of her millions in compo
He would have got plenty in compensation too. What a ridiculous thing to say, you have no idea of their personal situation
Yer that's right! think good of people, he is a good guy and she is a wonderful wife
Waited a very long time to marry her if that was why. Of course it wasn't.
What a nasty comment best wishes to them 🎉
