I was coming back to NY from Florida. 1 man was checking NY bag after it went through x ray. Then 3 men. I knew I had nothing wrong so I was not nervous and I am usually a very nervous jerky😂 so then the 1 man said in a fun way " r u taking a bit of Florida back with u"? Then I remembered I had a plastic pop bottle filled with beautiful white sand to decorate with my shells. 😂 I lol and said yes. And I was on my way.

Wait, you don’t like the commentary preview, pauses and play by plays, AND a recap?? I know I love when the video tells me everything that’s going to happen before it happens and continues to tell me everything I’m seeing and they even give me the treat of a summary like I can’t comprehend what I just watched.
Sarcasm in case anyone missed it. I agree, the producers do a great job letting us watch along and really only chiming in to give us additional context or valuable information.

Some years ago I was catching a flight from Townsville to Brisbane in Australia. I was the last passenger through security.
Myself and my hand luggage tested positive for explosives so they brought up my suitcase and went through that - everything in it tested positive.
I was an old chook on a walking cane and had never been around explosive materials. I was sooo scared.
Several very official looking fellows joined the group and they had a little conference. One of the gentlemen came over with the wand and tested everything again - including me. Warnings were going off all over the place.
THEN he ran the wand over himself and the alarm sounded again. He tested other members in his group as well as the original officials and the alarm sounded every time!
    The equipment was faulty.
I was so relieved to be able to repack my suitcase and carryons and make my flight.
Then, on the plane, I thought, “what if the previous passenger going through security was carrying explosives and the equipment, already proven to be faulty, had a delayed response.” I think I shook in fear that whole flight expecting an explosion at any minute.
I’ve never been so grateful to feel solid ground beneath my feet in Brisbane! 😁

That’s kind of the point, it’s what made this doubly frightening for him-being treated as a suspected terrorist then getting on a flight where an actual terrorist carrying explosives managed to get aboard due to the faulty equipment. Drug dealing rather pales in comparison to being blown out of the sky into a million pieces, no?

Why they say this ma's behaviour is erratic and suspicious and he left his manners in Dubai, I can't understand. Equally the lady crying, when I was pulled over at the airport, (I had bath salts in my case from The Four Seasons Hotel) I was so scared and frightened even though I knew I hadn't done anything wrong and never would. And I find that is 100% something someone who watches TV crime shows will say "I hope he didn't put anything in my bag "..... I was traveling to London and the cutest dog came n sat near my suitcase and then an army of officers arrived. I'd never done any type of drug (outside of occasional alcohol) and there I was ,being led to their security room.... they cut down my suitcase, took out all my stuff and kept questioning me and yes, I was wondering if someone put something in my suitcase, I was alone and scared (1 blink away from tears). Of course they didn't find any drugs so they asked if persons handled my suitcase. The answer to that was yes, my suitcase was heavy so a neighbor help me down the stairs wit it, the taxi driver helped it out the taxi, so yes. They let me go n told me handle my suitcase myself nxt time 😑... so drug residue from someone hands transferred to my luggage and the cutest furriest drug addicts detected it.

I am recently widowed and flying alone soon for the first time. I will indeed be nervous going through customs alone. Over the years my husband and I met customs agents who were very professional, and those who were extremely rude. In one country we were yelled at for stepping up to the counter together, and in another I was jokingly asked if we didn’t like one another because we stepped up separately. When I explained that we had been yelled out previously for being together, he told us that was ridiculous. Inconsistency in procedures makes customs a stressful experience. Nothing about flying is enjoyable any more.

It’s so funny, I used to work in a high end department store in Beverly Hills California. I was a plain clothes security agent. I would arrest very wealthy people, normally women, I’d ask them if they had the money to pay for the items they stole and they would say yes. I then asked, why didn’t you just pay for it? Usually they would tell me,their husband traveled a lot and when they would act out like this the hubby would feel guilty and buy them whatever they wanted. They were bored, and needed some excitement. Some were well known actresses.

I get extremely nervous going through customs ever since i was detained by real a holes at Canadian border for hours when in my early 20s. I had nothing, but had made the mistake of saying i had dual citizenship which they didn't like at all. This was the 80s. I was in tears and scared to death as they brought me down a hall into a closed office with 3 big men. Now i choose one US or Canadian, but I'm sure look extremely suspicious because of how nervous i get.

Lol every time I go through security I'm always pale and sweaty and shaking but always get through in a breeze. My husband on the other hand always has to do the extra searching and he's smooth and confident.

    • @dpej5167
      @dpej5167 2 місяці тому +2

@@sweetbeep When you enter a country you have to declare one citizenship. The reason is because when you leave that country you have to leave under the same citizenship so that they can track that you have actually left on the date that you declared upon entry. It's to make sure that the records of people who enter and exit the country are correct. This is normal across the world. When traveling internationally, and using foreign citizenship to land in a different country you have to exit that country with the same citizenship identification. When returning to your home country you can do the same thing with your other citizenship. You literally change citizenship mid-air. So that in your home country you are leaving and entering your home country under the same citizenship. That's just the way it works. It's very efficient. The purpose of a dual citizenship is not about convenience for security and customs, it's about how you can operate while you are within a country. For example whether or not you can work, whether or not you can own property and so on. At a border you have to declare one citizenship or the other.

Traveling from Italy to Los Angeles my husband and I had 3 incidents.
    1. My husband was checked in a group of 12 people for “gunpowder”
    2. Before I got off the first flight to change planes I put an apple from the airplane meal in my purse thinking I might get hungry later. An airport dog sniffed my purse and I had to wait in a line to explain my story. After that I bought some chocolate bars for my grandchildren before getting on the next flight.
    3. While going through TSA the lady did a test on my chocolate bars to see if they were drugs.

5:05 ~ I suspect this is just a feint. Dude 1 is just a distraction while Dude 2 breezes through customs. Dude 1 has all the attitude and is 100% clean while dude 2 plays it cool, doesn't cause a scene, and breezes through customs because many of the other officers are busy dealing with dude 1, but the line of passengers needs to continue moving with relatively little supervision. It's actually quite brilliant if that is actually what is going on. [A few minutes laytehr] CALLED IT!!! But customs were on their game today and caught 'em!

I travel throughout the Middle East, Europe and the US. I always get stopped. Single female in a suit... They look at my watch, I get swabbed - hands and bag... They ask me how much money I'm carrying, ask what's in the bag. My answers are: about £1 for a cup of tea, and clothes, lots of clothes. 😂 If you get stopped a lot like I do, you have to allow time at the airport. I was once boarding for the US from the ME and was stopped as I tried to board the cabin! They took my hand luggage apart right at the entry and I ended up being the last to board the flight! You just have to understand the security concern, and act passively. There's no point in making an embarrassing situation MORE embarrassing. I know I'm innocent, after all. 😊
