    I love your videos! Can I request that you also record the fish taking the float under when it eats the bait along with the hook set. Its cool to see the fish after its caught but we miss out on seeing the bite and that's a great part of the excitement.

    Yes, but due to higher waters it has not fished well for big Perch at all this year. Its called Aldermaston Mill,near Reading,Berks. Only short stretch of river though.

    If you mean the minnows,no, other than the normal rod license you don't need anything else to use minnows as bait. But always check the club's ,or fishery rules. It might say no livebaiting. Remember you cannot transport live fish of any species from water to another as it might spread disease, and that is where any special fish license for movement comes in.

    i love how its just about the fishing, this guy never sells products, and doesn't give in to the latest trends of stupidly expensive gear that normally only benefits the tackle companies and emptying your wallets. this guy tells you how to catch you fish and only that, this guy has a lot of respect from me. :)
    love the videos mate subbed and eager for every new episode!

    @DerLiebeTun If livebait is not allowed in Germany maybe try a minnow deadbait,or better still a small Gudgeon deadbait.Use a piece of 15lb nylon line for a trace,and single size 6 carp hook.Hook the bait through both lips,let it sink,and twitch back very slowly.Maybe add a shot.Work the margins and edges of sunken trees ,bushes or pilings.Good luck.

    Love video, managed to pull a 3lb 10oz Monster from the Thames by Benson just a couple of days ago on lobworm, second cast, first was a greedy little gudgeon (the lob was longer than it), on second cast, close to the bank where a shelf dropped off, using a peacock, float tapped a couple of times then shot down like a torpedo, hooked it roughly in the same place u did corner of mouth/cheek, spent rest of day tiddler bashing mainly Dace, small perch, didn't care, was shaking so much cause biggest perch ever caught could hardly keep iphone still, got a love picture of it, poor guy next to me who i had to borrow scales as left mine in the car, was feeder fishing, and caught nothing bless him.

    The river welland in spalding and the drains that come off it have had some utter monsters in them this year. Yesterday was my first day fishing of the season, with it being +30C I chose to just target perch. Vernats drain, under a bridge held a 3lb 2oz beast, and had 5 or 6 in excess of 2lb. Easily the best perch shoal I've ever fished. You could see them taking flies etc... off the surface , which I've never seen before. Just on worm, a lot of the time fished like a lure as the water was crystal clear and most bits were when the bait was being reeled in. going to try live baiting with minnow next weekend and see if I can beat the 3lb 2oz. I'm sure they go above 4, saw some bigger than what I caught.

  • @TAFishing

    Head bailiff told me to use minnows as others guys doing the same.No problems there,and usually you CAN use livebaits as long as they are caught from the same water,unless otherwise stated in rules.The usual rule is NO transportation of live fish from other waters to prevent spread of disease.I'm not a big livebait fan,and actually prefer deadbaits,but big Perch do eat minnows naturally .That's why I'm not in any clubs. Strangulated by rules.I go to day ticket waters.

    got a tip for ya mate :) use the so-called ''lipgrip''. you put your thumb in the perch's mouth and hold it in the lower jaw, just like the americans with their basses. the fish doesn't move at all and you can unhook it easily :)

    A day to remember! Congrats I know how you feel though because earlier this year I caught a 3 1/2 lb Perch too. My biggest ever, when I got it to the net I thought it was a small carp and I found myself shouting out - like a kid - 'it's a Perch!' Gorgeous fish on a single maggot on a deserted French pond in March, only bite I had all day. Great vids, keep 'em coming please.

  • @TAFishing
    @TAFishing  11 років тому

    It may sound strange but I don't go fishing for really big specimens,I just go fishing and get whatever comes along.Biggest Perch was the one in our Perch fishing on the River Kennet film,though the Europeans seem to get all the big 5lb plussers.Biggest pike was 24 1/4lbs,not big by today's standards ,but on 5lb line straight through and a lobworm intended for chub on the Hants Avon it made my old rod creak.Zander,I think about 3lbs,Roach,don't think I've had a 2-pounder,about 1-14 ?

    The float will move around, but the minnow would be unlikely to hold it down. When it goes under and stays under for say,5 seconds, then it has probably been taken by a perch.
