      Hi Lendra, glad to hear that you love the cake :) I bet using a nonrefined coconut oil would make a nice lil coconut cake too!

    What oil did you use?
    I am a beginner vegan baking Unfortunately
    I am allergic to soybeans so I should avoid vegan butter (including lecithin), soy milk most vegan recipe
    By the way It’s amazing how the bread is made with water. I'll try it tomorrow!!!

      Hello! I generally use canola oil or safflower oil. You can try using refined coconut oil if you want to be extra safe :) if you keep it cool it will turn thicker like butter which can help you in a lot of baking situations. I hope your cake turns out great :)

    Hi this recipe looks great. can you use self raising flour?

    • @marixlife
      @marixlife  3 роки тому

      Hi! I haven't tried it personally, but in theory you should be able to :) just omit the baking soda and salt in this recipe and replace the plain flour with the self raising flour. Let me know how it goes :)

    What is the best substitution for vegetable oil? I cannot have soy. Thanks!

    • @marixlife
      @marixlife  3 роки тому +1

      Hi! The vegetable oil refers to pretty much any kind of liquid oil, such as canola or safflower oil. You can also use melted refined coconut oil as well. Hope this helps! :)

    • @marixlife
      @marixlife  3 роки тому

      Hi! You might have put in a little too much baking soda. Double check the amount that you're putting in :)

    • @nishujain5930

      @marixlife  3 роки тому

      Oh ok, did the cake rise properly? If it didn't then the baking soda might be old. Otherwise it might be the brand you've used?

    Can i use oat flour?

    • @marixlife
      @marixlife  3 роки тому

      Hi! For gluten free baking, it's better to use a mix of flours (i.e. rice flour, oat flour, sorghum, tapioca, etc) to get a light cake. Using only oat flour will result in a very dense cake. Hope this helps :)
