Moschino needs a great marketing team. Maybe collab with a new up and coming pop star to be their face. If Doja Cat fixes herself up and stops going through whatever she's going through right now she'd be a fun camp person for them maybe?
There are fashion enthusiasts and then there’s those who follows trends. To those who are loyal fashion enthusiast, would definitely appreciate all these brands and especially special appreciation for local designers. Quiet but not dead definitely
For 15 year old me, Givenchy during the Riccardo era was what started my interest in luxury fashion so i’ll always have a soft spot for them. What a moment in fashion/pop culture history it was. We’re rooting for you Givenchy!
Why are you not working for one of these big brands and helping them find their new niche?! You are so well informed and smart and perfect for this industry. I love your videos so much. ❤
To me, Balenciaga absorbed all of the clientele Mugler could have. I don’t know if there’s a need for both. Even when Ghesquiere’s Balenciaga was gaining momentum, Mugler was winding down. So much of Mugler was the man himself & there’s no real way to replicate that. Kind of like JPG, a huge personality that helped sell the clothes. Also, it’s hard to step out of the shadow when people will forever reference the 80s & 90s HC shows.
Miu miu comes back every 10ish years, remember the cult glitter shoes around 2010s. The trend cycle is coming back and resurrecting brands. They'll come back
I love It when you check in on “dead” or at least “comatose” brands. I always like to have a reference then when suddenly in 3 years time it seems everyone is obsessed with them. You should sometime review a luxury fashion from 5,10 or 15 years ago about up and coming brands & trends and see where we are today with them. It’s trippy off you watch Ugly Betty or Gossip Girl or something and everyone is raving about D&G or DVF lol
In Italy Moschino's diffusion line, Love Moschino, is literally everywhere, to the point I even wonder if people remember that there is a Moschino high end brand.
I find that in department stores here in Ireland as well as the UK. I don’t ever think I see actual mainland brand anywhere besides super high profile locations
I also stopped looking at the high end Moschino brand because of the Love Moschino that you can find in every TKMaxx store. It totally ruined the brand for me.
Loved this video - so many brands that could be having moments but aren’t there (Moschino totally wasting the Barbie opportunity). I still wear my Kenzo tiger sweater (the one everyone seemed to have) from time to time and have a kenzo clutch but outside of that find it a tad uninspiring. Re. Herve Leger I feel like they sit in an odd place where if you want to spend less there are lots of brands that can cater to that for far less … and if you want to spend more Alexander Vauthier or Alex Perry have people covered on the party front ! Fab video !
I think DSquared2's biggest issue is their pricing, like I get that it's luxury but the argument that you can get the "same" thing from other brands for significantly less rings SO true with them, more-so than most IMHO. So much of their stuff has always reminded me of an ultra high end Abercrombie circa 2001-2005. The destroyed denim, logos, branding, dirty/tongue in cheek graphics.
Hi Cassie, love your video I feel like any brand can be dormant. It just depends on the PR team I mean look at diesel. Diesel was dormant for a while and now they are back booming. It’s about PR and timing.
I think brands like moschino and kenzo have seen an increase in popularity for their kids lines rather than main line recently. I see the kids stuff everywhere! I'm in the Midlands on the UK, not exactly known for luxury or being wealthy and recently some of these brands seem to be on ALL the kids around
I think there is a sense of curse when a brand becomes super trendy at the moment, to the point that is too popular and there is too many knock offs. Oversaturated, too accessible and nothing new happening. With that being said having a moment and on being on trend all the time is not possible. I have huge respect for brands that stick to their dna and create great garments, regardless of trends.
Moschino has a bit of a problem with that their Love Moschino line got too available and at this point may be hurting the mainline. Also there not being a known successor. But Kenzo and Mugler are safe, I think, they seem to be on the up and coming with teenagers and young adults. Logo Sweats and tshirts for Kenzo, and basically everything denim incl tops for mugler. at least mainland, western europe
Do you think the idea of quiet luxury has very much trumped the idea of spending money on costume looking pieces? Most of the brands you have mentioned have created pieces that are 1 and done...whereas now if some of us have 3000 to spend on a dress I would prefer the row..or similar...just a thought
I feel like Victoria Beckham took A LOT of notes when she wore Mouret back in the day and applied them to her own label. Her dresses are insanely flattering and well made and I was glad to hear you mention in one of the videos you posted a few days ago that her label is finally becoming profitable. Very well deserved. DSquared quality is top notch but I always wait for sales to get their stuff. I am obsessed with their outwear but feel like maybe the fact that they have such a hard time ditching real fur is the reason why a lot of their customers went elsewhere. Moschino is fun but I feel like their cheaper line, Love Moschino, is literally EVERYWHERE. I am talking every Marshall's store you walk into, you get assaulted by racks and racks of Love Moschino merch which isn't exactly appealing ... to me, anyhow. Kudos on another great video, Cassie! xo

Actually , you just revived Roland Mouret for me. It's giving me Jessica Pearson from Suits vibes and that's exactly the bad ass, top of her career vibe I'm looking for going into next year.
I was at Century 21 yesterday and looked at a Moschino shirt and it looked very Shein -- and their bags aren't even leather. They are the worst contemporary priced brand.
Great information Cassie, thank you for sharing. Your knowledge always astounds me. It's 106 degrees here, all we can wear are large silk moo moos with nothing underneath, it's so frightening to see and thats just from my own reflection in the mirror! Hopefully when weather gets cooler we can actually wear some of these beauties from the different fashion houses without fear of total body sweat saturation. Literally, we are melting down south, and not in a good way. It's so hot when I open my front door I feel like I'm checking something in the oven. More videos please, you are a delight.
I think with Mugler, its such a recognizable brand. probably like 2 out of 5 people have that mesh cut out design from them in pants, a body suit or something. So with that I think its one of those things where people dont wanna wear in "fear" of looking like the masses. Unfortunately, not many people actually dress how they really would like, they dress how other people *influence* them to. so im sure alot of mugler is catching dust in many closets

R.I.P to Christopher Kane - shame to see the end of such a fun brand. It's such a shame that so many brands from that era weren't able to last, I still remember Luella, Meadham Kirchhoff, and a few others
When you said “RIP Christopher Kane” I almost got scared lol. I was a really big fan of his menswear from 2013-15. I still search for some of the pieces to this day.
I love that you already knew exactly what you looked like in the photos 🤭 I have those pink Barbie Jeremy x Melissa shoes! Moschino should definitely root themselves in bright colors if they're not gonna do novelty. I need to look for those long bandage Herve dresses 🙂 Shoes are definitely something you should have a main brand ambassador for. Now we need to see the year book photo 😝 Mugler needs long form fitting dresses with flattering body hugging patterns.
I randomly spent an hour the other day debating in my head why Giuseppi Zanotti heels/pumps aren't as popular as some other brands! I really think they still have a solid shoe. Especially the jewel tone metallics and velvets that have a nice and streamlined silhouette. And the little metallic stripe peeping out along the bottom of the neutral pumps. Idk I feel like they hit a really good balance of fabulous but "wearable"- assuming we have already accepted 3"-4" heels are "wearable."
Great video Cassie. I would add to the dormant list Dolce & Gabbana, Armani, Balenciaga, Norma Kamali, and Valentino. Moschino used to be great in 1980s and early 90s....but in recent years has too many cheaper cutesy lines that can be found at TJ Maxx etc.
I would say the Valentino single handedly brought hot pink back, way before Barbie ! And I love that you mention Kamali, I actually bought 2 sleeping bag coats two years ago. Note: they should get their online act together, I paid a fortune to have them shipped just a couple hours away from NYC to Montreal. Still love Norma though ❤. I haven’t bought Armani in forever, but he does do a good red carpet moment.
One thing I will say about Moschino is that if you want to try a trend they are very affordable to do so. I said this on a video of yours a few years back when the Chanel and Prada dad sandals was all the buzz that I purchased the Moschino version because it was cheap. Now that the trend is about over I didn't pay the higher prices just to try it. Also, they have great swimwear that are unique.
Great video! I think of another brand and it’s Carven. Carven hired Louise Trotter, who was a former creative director at Lacoste, as new creative director and will hold a fashion show during the upcoming Paris Fashion Week next month.
Ricardo was soo influential at Givenchy no other designer other than Hubert himself was more esteemed. I had high hopes for Claire but I just don’t see it anymore. Ricardo’s Haute a couture was beautiful as well.
I am a huge Moschino fan. Moschino is not as represented on red carpet as let's say Dior. They usually have just one dress, but that one is great, and even the harshest critics agree on that. But you are totally on point. It is ahead of it's time, and they are not getting the clout they deserve.
I really haven't seriously thought about any of these brands in years. I'm sure I'm not alone in this. For me, it's just nothing from them grabs me as unique or eye-catching enough to bring my attention toward them. Every one of them; there is another brand doing the same thing or close enough that I'm more drawn to them instead. And those brand usually have many other pieces I already love so they gain my loyalty quicker. Sure brands like Moschino I used to love but I just haven't seen anything from them in way too long to keep my interest.
Agree with you 100.... I love Christian Louboutin, but feel like his shoes have lost popularity (at the height they were years ago) Sadly I also think Balmain is not as popular as it once was , although I will love each of these designers forever... All of my pieces remain in my collection
I’d LOVE to hear your opinion on the Karl Lagerfeld brand. It is really popular in my country Hungary, but I have not heard about it or seen it in any international platforms. The pieces are affordable but still not cheap at all ( especially compared to our salaries here). The pieces are really logo heavy but otherwise quite unoriginal, so the brand itself annoys me to no end when I see it :D I feel like it offers nothing more than a Zara design with a logo of Karl’s head and/or his name. It would be a real treat if you gave your two cents about it 😘😘
Interesting topic 🤔 There are many others that I used to love, Casadei with their killing blades, Louboutin, even Vanemtio - all seem to have lost their creative spark..
You’re right: Herve Leger really could have expanded their presence with shapewear. Giuseppe Zanotti Harmony Sandals are still a vibe to me. I still want them lol 😩😊 And a Roland Mouret dress with the cap sleeves? Omgoodness, stunning! I used to picture myself as a high-powered fashion executive in that dress lol in the mid 2000s a la Vanessa Williams in Ugly Betty, etc 🤍
Hi Ca$$ie! Great video and topic! What do you think of Vivienne Westwood? I know that you love their clothing, but I see very little videos/information about their handbags. I was looking at their Archive Yasmine bag in Trellis tapestry artwork for fall/winter and would love to have your opinion. Thanks. :)
I definitely can't afford luxury brands as of now as I'm a student but a lot of ugly looking and impractical luxury brand items get popular compared to some quirky products. It's lovely to understand consumer behaviour from luxury enthusiasts for their insights. Thank you and keep up with sharing your knowledge. ❤✨🐣
Aw...Ms. Cassie in the know. Great info for to hear while out. I am surely taking notes. I agree having a creative director that can capture the pulse of fashion is off to a good start. Blessings my dear. 🥰❤🩹.
A lot of vintage Moschino was way before its time, I feel, it’s just waiting to be rediscovered en masse by gen z, which will basically guarantee a comeback. I agree about Mugler, they are in danger of selling their brand legacy for peanuts with HM catsuits and Amazon selling spiral leggings dupes.
Would be interesting to know if a certain brand had suffered any consequences for their terrible recent advertising decisions. However, I also don't want to say their name or hear them talked about! 😂 Another great Vlog 👍
They did not really suffer any consequences. They‘re bigger than ever in the asian market, cause they didn‘t even hear about the scandal over there. Look at Dolce & Gabbana for instance - highly problematic for their statements a few years ago, where they got "cancelled". Few years later and it‘s like nothing ever happened. This will always be the case for luxury brands.
I've seen quite a few items of the brand that shall not be named marked down at nordstrom, but they will get past it. If they weren't owned by Kering, the brand would have been entirely dropped by department stores.
To me, Giuseppe Zanotti do the best men's sandals. Granted, I can't afford said sandals, but if I could, I'd have each style in every color. All the other fashion houses seem to just do big clunky slides for men and just call it a day.
It is kinda funny mentioning Givnechy, I like it probably because my parents did, so the "old" Givenchy. I mean I like everything 1970s so that shows my taste level.
I think with Dsquared fast fashion eg Zara has killed their vibe. When looking at the men’s jeans specifically you can walk into Zara and get something similar for 3/4 of the price! Moschino….here,here. Barbiecore & Moschino 🤝🏾, I feel like they created this “core”. I’d love to know, what was the missed opportunity here🤔. I’m still gonna get a pair of “Cruel summer”! I’m gonna say it, a lot these brands aren’t it anymore bc they didn’t give opportunities, collabs and endorsements to the celebrities/culture that kept them booming. I’m not a Nicki Minaji fan but she put Giuseppe out there for the gworls!
Blessed Wednesday my Cass Cass!!! Some of these designer brands are hideous at times , might as well throw it in the bin 😊. Continue put in the good work.
I think that these brands don’t have any “it” items at the moment and that’s why one would think they’ve fallen off. I DO think that if you’re into fashion you can make any brand work for your aesthetic, whatever it may be. Moschino, specifically, has always treaded on that fine line of being costumey.
The problem with bandage dresses is that you need to have a banging body and it's basically only club wear. It's the least forgiving dress out there. Even if you have the perfect body, you are just a glass of water away from ruining the look.
amazing video as always, Cassie!! 💜this one is weirdly relevant to me bc i work in Hudson Yards and love to walk around the shops during my lunch break (it's dangerous tbh) and i was just thinking recently about how Kenzo's shop is always empty and was even surprised they have a shop there in the first place??
Have been re-reading “How Luxury Lost its Luster”…its SO enlightening to how fashion is very much chosen for us & not selected based on whats true to who we are. Yet we believe the opposite.
Moschino would be a good home for Alessandro Michele, honestly. They're two different brands of camp that could do so well together. Plus they'd be keeping it Italian, which I feel would make so much more sense than Jeremey
I think Jeremy Scott kept Moschino relevant, but since he left six months ago, I can’t remember hearing the brand mentioned. Who else is going to design a hair dryer handbag? I thought Leger was coming back. Maybe the documentary with all the 90s supermodels will make it relevant again?
Love you so much Cassie you made my day today you always make me smile and always brighten up my day you will always be my favourite UA-camr and my inspiration ❤❤❤❤❤
Did you see Versace remove all IG post 8 believe they going to rebrand because other company acquire theme I wish they hired new creative director anyways if this happen plss make a video kinda title what brands are need to reivent brands that need to get out in there comfort zone TY
Guys what is your opinion on Philipp Plein? Is it more a male brand or just overpriced or tacky? I often see PP having huge sales which additionally downgrades the luxury they desire to be a part of
What a great ep! Ugh so many of these brands are etched into my memory as part of my teens/twenties 🥹 I don’t understand why D2 didn’t cater to influencers like Diesel did, Moschino too, both could have had tonnes of success over the past couple years if they had put their clothes on the tiktokers.
I have been saying for the last few years the Lanvin is just dead. They are an old house already and they were not on anyone’s radar when Elber Albaz put them in the spotlight in the 2010s. They are in the midst of a turnaround attempt and I believe banking on accessories to save them. The cat bag is being heavily promoted for the last few years. You just never hear of anyone talking about them and I can’t recall any major red carpet moments in years.
The Lanvin Curb sneaker has been one of the most popular luxury sneakers of the past few years. Their hoodies and sweatshirts with the laces are also quite popular.
Moschino needs a great marketing team. Maybe collab with a new up and coming pop star to be their face. If Doja Cat fixes herself up and stops going through whatever she's going through right now she'd be a fun camp person for them maybe?

I am a huge Moschino fan. Moschino is not as represented on red carpet as let's say Dior. They usually have just one dress, but that one is great, and even the harshest critics agree on that. But you are totally on point. It is ahead of it's time, and they are not getting the clout they deserve.
Herve Leger has “fallen” a bit, however my red bandeau dress will never leave my closet because I was totally rocking it in 2013 4mths preggo 😅
Thank you for pronouncing Moschino correctly lol. It's one of my favourite brands and I've had their clothes for around 20 years now (OMG!!!).
It would be a real treat if you gave your two cents about it 😘😘
It has never been a luxury brand I think
Interesting topic 🤔
There are many others that I used to love, Casadei with their killing blades, Louboutin, even Vanemtio - all seem to have lost their creative spark..
I love my Loubis and my Valentino
You’re right: Herve Leger really could have expanded their presence with shapewear.
Giuseppe Zanotti Harmony Sandals are still a vibe to me. I still want them lol 😩😊
And a Roland Mouret dress with the cap sleeves? Omgoodness, stunning! I used to picture myself as a high-powered fashion executive in that dress lol in the mid 2000s a la Vanessa Williams in Ugly Betty, etc 🤍
Always enjoy your video. Especially love ones with your thoughts and analysis. Thank you Cassie
Hi Ca$$ie! Great video and topic! What do you think of Vivienne Westwood? I know that you love their clothing, but I see very little videos/information about their handbags. I was looking at their Archive Yasmine bag in Trellis tapestry artwork for fall/winter and would love to have your opinion. Thanks. :)
I have seen a lot of Ddquear in Barcelona. Have a feeling that they are in love with it.
Agreed!! 💖
That Mugler was spiiiccceeeh but actually it makes perfect sense for their future!
Would love to also see a video on luxury brands you think are underrated! for example, missoni RTW!
Would be interesting to know if a certain brand had suffered any consequences for their terrible recent advertising decisions. However, I also don't want to say their name or hear them talked about! 😂 Another great Vlog 👍
well, I'm hearing them get more and more talked about as though nothing happened....
As soon as I saw the title-I thought Givenchy!! I love it but it needs ….something to happen!!
To me, Giuseppe Zanotti do the best men's sandals. Granted, I can't afford said sandals, but if I could, I'd have each style in every color. All the other fashion houses seem to just do big clunky slides for men and just call it a day.
Love the video, I didn't even know about those brands, but I do remember that bandage dress everywhere then nada
Cassie! What about Alexander McQueen? 🥺
I mean SERIOUSLY - HOW is Moschino barbiecore not front & center right now? !?!?!?
How about Escada? I thought you would mention them
It is kinda funny mentioning Givnechy, I like it probably because my parents did, so the "old" Givenchy.
I’m still gonna get a pair of “Cruel
summer”! I’m gonna say it, a lot these brands aren’t it anymore bc they didn’t give opportunities, collabs and endorsements to the celebrities/culture that kept them booming. I’m not a Nicki Minaji fan but she put Giuseppe out there for the gworls!
Loved this video !
I think we should make this a series 🫣
Blessed Wednesday my Cass Cass!!! Some of these designer brands are hideous at times , might as well throw it in the bin 😊. Continue put in the good work.
😂😂
I think that these brands don’t have any “it” items at the moment and that’s why one would think they’ve fallen off. I DO think that if you’re into fashion you can make any brand work for your aesthetic, whatever it may be. Moschino, specifically, has always treaded on that fine line of being costumey.
The Venn diagram omg so good
The problem with bandage dresses is that you need to have a banging body and it's basically only club wear. It's the least forgiving dress out there. Even if you have the perfect body, you are just a glass of water away from ruining the look.
amazing video as always, Cassie!! 💜this one is weirdly relevant to me bc i work in Hudson Yards and love to walk around the shops during my lunch break (it's dangerous tbh) and i was just thinking recently about how Kenzo's shop is always empty and was even surprised they have a shop there in the first place??
oh wow, I didn't even realise they had a shop there either!!
What about Blumarine or Halston? They never even show up in any magazines any more. Love Miu Miu, been a fan from way back.
I’ll still always remember though how Moschino changed the world with their McDonald’s collection. It was such an upset and it was just 10 years ago!
What about BCBG? I feel like they are such an iconic brand and they fell off hard
People seem to have forgotten about Escada?
As a woman with narrow feet I wish you would say which lines fit narrow.
Love you so much Cassie you made my day today you always make me smile and always brighten up my day you will always be my favourite UA-camr and my inspiration ❤❤❤❤❤
love you!!
I have a kenzo bag, it is super cool.
Did you see Versace remove all IG post 8 believe they going to rebrand because other company acquire theme I wish they hired new creative director anyways if this happen plss make a video kinda title what brands are need to reivent brands that need to get out in there comfort zone TY
I hope they don’t rebrand because the charm of Versace is the fact that the family is still a part of it 😭
👀I think I saw Sophie Shohet do a video about that
The people request to see the yearbook photo!! 😆
Another great video and very interesting 🤔 info… love your delivery on the content and giving amazing insight. Thank you!!! ❤
You are so welcome! 💖💖💖
It's giving club promoter!! So true! I will never stop laughing!!
Like chatting with a friend!! Great take on Mugler and Herve! May need to snag an Antigona bag ❤ excellent video per usual.
So happy you enjoyed it!! 🥰💖
Mugler needs Galliano, or Glen Martens to dial it up.
Alexander McQueen, Thom Browne, Oscar del La renta come to mind
Moschino is just naff now, all over freeman’s catalogue and in
tk maxx bargain bins with all the kenzo sweatshirts
Can we talk about Dolce & Gabbana. I feel like it is so underrated and i love their style ans bags etc.
Is ur entire wardrobe luxury or do u mix it in w other brands?
I had no idea dsquared is Canadian. ive always loved the heels that were made famous by Rihanna
I think Moschino is wanting to “quiet” their vibe for the moment.
