such a pitty that Sydney is sooooo far away..... i'd love to join your class!!! love your videos - just found them and think to look out for a zumba class. love to practise/try it 🙂
You should face which ever way the occasion calls for - there should not be a set rule - a good instructor knows by instinct what direction he/ she should face Ludicrous that is still being debated - Common sense !!
Thank you for sharing your opinion, although I warmly disagree with it! Firstly, new instructors have all the right to see and reflect on these topics, as they haven't been ZINs for a long time. It's important for them to understand benefits, pros and cons of the teaching styles they choose. Secondly, there are expected standards, when one takes the Basics training. They DO tell us what's the best practice. They DO explicitly say to face the crowd, not the mirror, for the most part of the class. Of course, occasionally, every ZIN benefits from turning and facing the mirror, but (as I show in the video) there are limits to a class taught facing the mirror for the entire time. Lastly, becoming a good instructor is not based on instincts, or at least not just on instinct. There's a lot of practice, patience, commitment, skills involved. And respect to the Zumba format. It's all in the video :-)
Happy to see you back! Missed you!!!
Thank you!!
