What i like about Genelec is that they know where to spend their money. Unlike some other companies....
They have a triple 15 sub as well but I think it’s 7 or 8 grand.

I think these also use the Peerless XLS12 12" driver which is basically what the SVS SB/PB/PC-2000 subs use. Very high quality sub driver.They used to have a model with 4 x 12's called the HTS6 which was insane in its daygoogle "way down deep Keith Yates" for one of the best subwoofer comparisons ever done, the HTS6 cleaned up!

I also didn't show off the "port" that will come during the review.
In a cottage we placed a $4000 subwoofer. A lil birdy landed on the perch outside the window. We turned that sub up and killed the f-ing bird.

@formerviking...Yup, I literally and instinctively found myself bellowing "Whoooo!" as soon as I heard the opening notes...then did the strut around my living room in my bathrobe. My window was open an inch or so and the neighbour who I didn't notice was passing by kinda looked at me weird.

I have their smallest sub, 6.5 inch, and that thing rumbles my room already.
Yeah! I have Also and it gives the purest bass I have heard! Very tight, good at all volume levels, no distortion, no vibrations. Super staff, but yeah not cheap either...
The legs on the crate are offset, because of the spacing of the pallet jack forks.

Cool design. And part of a system. I saw some video with an SVS sub and kinda wish I had one and it seemed great but that one cost like 1/6th of this or something . Out of my price range regardless but it kinda have to offer something quite a bit more for that price I suppose =P
Anyway very cool design with the "tube" with supports around it.

Awesome! Really curious if you will like the "reference" sound of it without the room affecting it too much. It might sound a bit thin boy but the bass is tight (as with the Dirac DRC)! @@ZReviews
I'm not a fan of subwoofers. I don't think they ever really fully integrate with the main speakers.

If this is going to be for movies, 19 Hz isn't low enough. I know the ring drop in Lord of the Rings is about 8 Hz.

@@feel.s1304 No one can hear 8Hz. You feel it. There are a lot of movies with info in the LFE track that dips into the single digits. The only subwoofers that can handle that are custom built.

Well genelec does make a 15 inch 7380 and a 3-wayt 15 inch 7382. Sooo not the biggest subwoofer they make

Their subs are completely overpriced. An Ultimax with DSP should be just as good for a fraction of the price. If you're looking to spend that much, then I'd go with a JL sub.
For DIY it’s hard to beat the Dayton Audio Ultimax any size subwoofer that they have in the Ultimax product line, very impressive and I would recommend them over SVS.

@@finbenton the speakers are the same, they just offer RCA on the home line, and the home line has a insane markup over the studio stuff.
I don't see the appeal for 4k... PB 16 Ultra $2499. Genelec 400watt Class D amp, seems very overpriced.
It is all about it integrating with the rest of the Genelec Ecosystem

They are die-cast aluminium if I got the translation correct
