@@laflame5798 "Statistically"? Tell me, how do you quantify that? Don't bother quoting record sales, as that is merely a measure of mass appeal, good promotion and luck and has nothing to do with ability or art.
To me this is what a cover should be. I'm biased because I think Brandi's a great vocalist in general :) But she achieved a good balance between recognizability and making the song her own. Well done!! And thanks for posting!
Exactly. The cellist Josh, has been with them since the early days. Then a few years ago, they started touring with more strings. Brandi and the rest of the band are a band that's meant to see live. They are incredible.
Man I get why so many artists want to cover this song but they make themselves a cheap copy since the original is so ethereal, so epic, so mysterious. Robert Plant at the height of his creativity, so much emotion, and his absolute best. You can't cover that honestly -- leave the song alone ! -- it should not be messed with in the same way no one would ever dare touch up the Mona Lisa painting.
Robert Plant did not sing the original. Had the original been left alone, we wouldn't have had Led Zeppelin's interpretation. I love Zep's version. I also love Brandi's version too. There's space for both.
What? Like PrestoWaves stated, Led Zepplin's version was a Cover of the original. Huge amount of songs that are popular now because a Cover was made from it. Don't be ignorant. I know it's hard not to, but it's also not that difficult to do a little bit a research.
You get respect for covering the greatest rock band of all time.
I didn't realise she had covered Free as well.
@@portcullis5622 statistically led zeppelin is the best in the world. best drummer, singer, guitarists

Ran across this here on YT. Way back in the day I saw Zep SEVENTEEN times. EXCELLENT job Brandi.
17 times? Nice! I never got to see them. Did you attend any of the The Song Remains The Same '73 MSG shows?
@@prestowaves3581 My 1st X-wife and I are in the movie, albeit for 1/4 of a second. She's sitting on my shoulders, one row back from the stage.
Great cover love Brandi🙂👍
That was amazing!👏👏👏👏👏
She really made it her own!! Knocked it out of the park!
This is sung in a sad and haunting way.She is the song and the song has her...
Came across this today, 👍🏼👍🏼
That was great
She rocks ANYTHING
Yes she does!
Soundgarden
She's not bad,no need for the negative comments
awesome...
It is.
Awesome
Wow !!!
Brandi did this song justice.
Music over power the voice
Complete different vocal style than Plant. Awesome vocals by Carlisle.
For an alto. Brandy did pretty good on this. The band was extremely good also.
A clearer interpretation
Wouu
Yep. That's one way of putting it!
How many bands have a string section along..lol...why would you cover a song to try and copy it perfectly? Great work here from everyone.

The comments here are so weird. 😂 Brandi did a phenomenal job with her vocal range.
I agree, she did.
So, did Chicago rip off this chord progression in 25 or 6 to 4?

I agree...there are some songs that should not be messed with, even though the singer has good intentions.
Now that's just plain silly -- ua-cam.com/video/Vl8FBFgg4tc/v-deo.html
Sounds the artist was too prissy to display their work. Imposter syndrome. Get help for your specific issues.

She looks like a normal person not dressed for the circus
Sorry, but when it comes to this song, Beth Hart and Danielle Nicole are simply in a different league.
Pink rocked it also
@@jacmaxt2 she left it mostly to the guitarist.
Nowhere close to great White's version.
Have u heard Joe Lynn turners version
@@johntiedeman9615 it's good but he doesn't have the range..
Their cover of "We Didn't Start the Fire" was legendary
Nice cover.
The opening chords of the original was a blatant rip off of Jackson C Frank's 'Milk and Honey'.
Relax. Everything Zeppelin recorded was a remake of older blues songs. They weren’t very good at crediting their sources, that’s for sure
@@OldManStrength4094 back then, I don't think they thought they had to - it was blues and it wasn't anything but a river, like the Ganges.

OK…but not even close to Zeppelin and Robert Plant…it just can’t be covered!
Sure it can: This is how you best Robert Plant: ua-cam.com/video/Vl8FBFgg4tc/v-deo.html

Should have never even attempted this song. Not even close lol.
Agreed
You do know led zeppelin covered Joan Baez

She's better then Robert.
