I love this song and it's a good performance. But the best performance of Adagio is the one from The Singer competition 2017 in China and he also plays the piano there. In this version Dimash takes this song to another level. There is no version which is better than this one. The performance on The Singer is and will probably always be my favorite. In my opinion this version is waaaay more emotional than the one from Sochi, 2018. But it’s all a matter of taste. He literally sang for survival as he was almost voted out on the episode before. That's why he had to give everything at Adagio. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired.
