Does anybody know why the movie "Life" get's so little attention? Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence. That movie has always been a diamond to me. Such a treasure.
As a black guy that movie always angered me because those guys literally went away for life. As funny as the humor was, the premise just always upset me. It's painful. And I know part of that was the point.
I grew up with Russell, in bramalea, Ontario. He was always well liked and very quick witted. The last time he and I were together was at our friends mom's house about 12 years ago.

I root for Russel to be one of those people, in my heart he is. I was fresh from the boat came to study in Australia from Indonesia. And I was clueless on how multiculturalism in the west works. His stand up gave me such a good insider overview of what's happening, how people think and feel about it, and how to approach it in a way that wouldn't be troublesome for me. So much was happening in that show, the event itself presented the audience's reaction, then the fact that it was one of the highlight of the internet created a new standard for everybody. Most of the fresh from the boat people were helping themselves watching that stand-up. He is a hero Russel Peters, I should be able to say more but I'm sure its easy to find other people's point of views that is also helped by the stand-up. Be a Man!
His most recent Netflix movie... Dolemite... best movie of that year. Deserved some sort of critical praise. My wife makes me watch every Oscar nominated movie... that one was my favorite.

One of the bigger takeaways from many of Joe's interviews is that celebrities get starstruck too. I mean, Joe has been an entertainer for decades. He's been a staple of popular TV shows, the voice of the UFC, a stand-up comedian, and a podcaster with millions of subscribers (among other things). Dude's famous. There are levels to everything.
Russell Peters needs to stop undermining himself. He's one of the most successful comedians and definitely more well known than some of the people at the party

My best friend in college loved "Boomerang", he practically dragged me to the theater after seeing it by himself to watch it again. The running gag about Eddie finding some flaw in the girls he went to bed with had us bent over our seats in laughter, especially the one with the weird looking foot. But I just remember the film as the first time I ever saw Halle Berry in a movie.

@@karlsylvain I'm not a huge Russell Peters fan, and I haven't actually listened to/watched much of his material, but I know that he is very popular these days and I recall hearing that he was one of, if not, the, highest-paid comics in the world; so he's obviously a big-time standup comedy star. With that said, having watched this clip, I would say that he is just a legitimately humble guy, who stays grounded and doesn't like celebrating his celebrity. And that actually makes me really like him, because I like humble, relatable people. Based on this clip, I'd say that Russell Peters is a genuinely nice, down to earth person who is grateful for his fame, wealth and popularity, but who doesn't like bragging or congratulating his self. I wish that more famous/wealth/powerful people were like Russell Peters.

I went to a party at Eddies house once. Got invited by accident but I went anyway. Didn’t get to meet him but had a great time hanging with his brother and a bunch of retired pro athletes that lived in the same neighborhood.
That was Eddie's 1st bomb but right before he did DELIRIOUS and BHC and he did a great monologue on SNL back in '84 and he said he knew the movie was garbage and he did it for the money. I actually went to see it years ago and it actually starred Dudley Moore who's career was dying down and Eddie was the best thing about that movie.

I went to a party at Eddies house once. Got invited by accident but I went anyway. Didn’t get to meet him but had a great time hanging with his brother and a bunch of retired pro athletes that lived in the same neighborhood.

That was Eddie's 1st bomb but right before he did DELIRIOUS and BHC and he did a great monologue on SNL back in '84 and he said he knew the movie was garbage and he did it for the money. I actually went to see it years ago and it actually starred Dudley Moore who's career was dying down and Eddie was the best thing about that movie.
