    The switch only blew up because its rated around 3 amps and those motors were definitely pulling over 3. I wanna see you get a bigger switch and see 48v

    Brilliant ! Great fun, sounds like the plastic drive gears are getting a bit tired. Those little 12 Volts motors are holding up well with 24 Volts, I bet those motors were very hot.

    The resistor helps With the braking instead of stoping. It rolls to a stop with the resistor being on

    The jumper box (pocket pack) that AutoZone carries advertising jumps up to 6.0s just boosting the 12v from my truck set in warranty bypass mode. I swear it pumps in all the amps those motors want at 12 will push other 12 vs around

    My son asked if you sped up to vid when he walked in. I was like, girls can make things more fun. They he wanted one. I said you made a limited edition. While I’m here, I finally got to finish the letter and gift. They are in a bubble mailer. I work grave so when I remembered I was sleepy at home. But they are packed and stamped. When I get home tomorrow (my time) I will put it in my mailbox. They normally come around about 2p.

  • @mackbreakerpuch

    You could make it brushless, on hobbyking.com is a 45dollar 6364 motor and a cheap 6s 180amp esc for 30dollar I think. Throw in a servo tester and your setup is done. If you want insane speed and power you can go to the 48v if you get a different esc(70-120dollar from China) on 48v it will go 40mph

    • @mackbreakerpuch

      If you need help on what parts and what gearing and stuff just ask, I've done it multiple times and I have a 400amp setup on 18s that powers a small car about the size of your city car😅

      Honeyroasted cashewnuts I have a 40v lithium hooked up to my sons John Deer peg perego tractor. I also have a 20v battery. There’s a fuse on the negative input. Will I be ok with 40v taking breaks, etc or should I stick with 20v?

    Have you thought about using something like a dimmer switch to control speed? Though, I don't know how well they'd handle the current.

    • @rocketman221projects
      @rocketman221projects 6 років тому +4

      Dimmer switches use a triac and will only work with AC power.
      The speed controller from a cordless drill might work with an upgraded mosfet and heatsink though.

    • @tech4pros1
      @tech4pros1 6 років тому +1

      cheap controllers for brushed electric scooters can be had from ebay amazon etc for a few pounds. they're built for the purpose, a drill speed controller will rapidly burn out, as they aren't rated for a 100% duty cycle.

    those silver things you cut out are probably thermal cut-outs in order to protect the motors from getting overheated from little kids trying to go uphill in the grass and not moving.
    them little 12v motors are super easy to burn up :( and so are those expensive 250w motors off those little razor things :(
