@@timsmith1323 he’s had shoulder problems that doctors never really could figure out why.. and one of his buddies works with a bow company, and they were able to make a bow for him that doesn’t strain his shoulder.
The doctor did find out; he missing a small bone in his shoulder that separates it from rubbing against a muscle. He explains it better in his video: I finally got a new archery bow for hunting my abandoned ranch (Can I get a Robinhood?)
Flair congrats on your buck!! I work at a golf course and if your cart isn’t holding charge it might need filled up with distilled water. Take those caps off the battery and make sure they are full.
Also, once you fully charge the cart, pull those big caps off the batteries and make sure it is FULL of DISTILLED water. Both of the capitals are important lol that will help with being able to hold a charge throughout the day while in use.
Archery Hunting is such a rush! He's a stud! He'll look good on the wall & fill the freezer! Congratulations that was a really well placed shot! Should try hanging the next deer in the cooler & letting the meat age, makes a huge difference in the taste & tenderness of the meat
I watched a guy making venison shank osso buco in his Instant pot. He cooked on high pressure for 50 minutes. He said he found it took longer to break down the connective tissue on venison, longer than it takes for beef. Hope that helps! Great hunt!
Each arrow will shoot a little different, try to select certain arrows and just use those. You may go through 2 dozen to get a good set of 6 for your broad heads!
This! When I first got into archery I use to "death grip" and would hit my shots but not consistently, but the guy who taught me told me you don't grip with your whole hand, only hold it with your thumb and pointer. The force of the bow will pull it into the crevice you made in your hand keeping it secure and steady
@The Daily Outdoorsmen same here except I watched a few videos on bow shooting. Also put a bowmar noise button on. I really like that for high pressure situations does a good job letting you know you're in your anchor point
Imagine not wasting money to watch something you could watch for free in couple of weeks and then try to rub it in to people who don’t want spend their money on it.
also awesome buck man i was so excited for you to get one at the new ranch!! also the meat off of the deer neck is my favorite to stew it gets very tender, i just cook it with some potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, with beef stock and cream of mushroom its great.
the recipe seemed pretty good but when your cooking a tough piece of meat with alot of connective tissue it gets really tough/ kinda stiff right before the connective tissue starts breaking down. So another 10 minutes and you would have probably had it where you could shredd it by hand. I like doing it with beef short ribs you absolutely have to try it man. Love the videos, keep them coming i dont think ive missed a video in probably 2 years!
Great idea on cooking the shanks. The word you were trying to get for cooking in a liquid would be a braising liquid and the cooking method is braising. Which is either slow cooking or pressure cooking a tough cut of meat in liquid.
Stock, sometimes called bone broth, is a savory cooking liquid that forms the basis of many dishes, particularly soups, stews and sauces. Making stock involves simmering animal bones, meat, seafood, or vegetables in water or wine, often for an extended period. Mirepoix or other aromatics may be added for more flavor.
congrats on the buck! tip from an archery coach? get a wrist sling for your bow and when you're aiming balance the bow in your hand, just touch two fingers together around the grip, no gripping required. will definitely save your shots!!
Congrats!!! That’s a great catch. Well done catching the deer. Deer meat is delicious and deerskin leather is good for the cover on trapper hats and palms in mitts . My favorite trapper hat combo is golden tan deerskin leather and brown longhair beaver and my favorite mitt combo is Brown longhair beaver with golden tan deerskin leather palms and sheared land otter liners.
Congrats, I know you're a busy man, but with afternoon hunts I always try to get into the stand around 315. It's always helped me with not bumping deer
Made osso buco with venison in instant pot a couple of years ago. You need to braise the meat first in the instant pot on the saute function on all sides until lightly browned in olive oil and butter. Then pull out the meat and cook the vegetables with flour to make a sauce. I followed a Pork Osso Buco instant pot recipe I found online.
The excitement when the deer got close was great. Hope you keep on after the deer. Might inspire other with the best deer vid I’ve seen in awhile. Way to go!!!! The shank and shoulder need lots of time to cook. Instapot will do it. Just need more time. The tendons all connected to joins in these cuts. Good idea. Maybe revisit on next deer.
Congrats!! That's a sweet buck. That part you cooked is so full of ligaments, tendons, and silver skin, and that's why It drew up like that. When you cook ligaments and tendons they shrink which draws the muscles together. When others cut it in a bunch of small pieces before cooking it that cuts the ligaments/tendons in a bunch of pieces so they're not long enough to shrink and draw the meat into a ball. If that makes sense.
Congrats!! Nice buck that was a biggin you should make a cabin or lodge thats the dedicated deer room that has all your deer mounts in it so we can see the giants from last year and this year and hopefully the freak will be on your wall soon to also looking forward to them catch and cooks great video keep up the great work!!! You keep me entertained and inspired every time I get on UA-cam and hear that sheeew.!!!!!
Love the channel,. Braising liquid is what you were cooking in. The shank meat shrunk up because of the connective tissue, the tendons and silver skin on the muscle cutting tendons and peeling off the silver skin will relax the meat to keep the muscle long and tender. But not a bad recipe as a whole. Congrats on a beautiful buck harvest with a bow!!
Always appreciate your content. Would love to see you cook in your home kitchen, tho. Beautiful house, adds to the personableness of the vidja. It’s inspiring too because it shows younger viewers what’s achievable with hard work and dedication.
I didn't get a chance to see Flairs videos last week but it's all good cause now I have more than 2 hours of premium content to watch tonight!! Sheew 🙌👌
Congratulations! That was an amazing shot and I am really proud of you for picking up archery so quickly. I am really looking forward to the future content, and Freak is, as his name explains, is a Freak. I almost peed myself when that pic popped up
Brine is something you put the meat in over night a lot of people use a salt water brine for turkey, au jus is the liquid after the meat is cooked, like for example when cosmo made the video at the googan hq with all of y’all when he made brisket I’m pretty sure you dipped some bread into it
The word y'all are looking for is a braise or braising liquid pro tip you can reduce the braising liquid in a pot to make a thicker sauce for your meat
You need to watch whitetail habitat solutions. Great ideas for screening yourself getting to and from your hunting spots. Something maybe to think about. Great buck!! You got yourself some nice land there. Keep up the hard work
Flair, you should take some cooking classes. You could make such an amazing dish with that beautiful shank. I bet if you took a little time to learn about the basics of cooking, you could step up your catch and cooks big time! Great shot btw!
That was awesome what a shot he didn't go that far away from you I would go low and slow with the shank amazing video as always 💓can't wait for the next one golf cart good for a long while then breaks down please get the freak

I MUST SAY FOR YOUR FIRST BUCK EVER YOU DID A HELL OF A JOB 💯🤩🤩
Great SHOT! I mean, that deer was targeted so well he took fewer steps after the shot than Anthony Huber took. Great work!
Love the excitement after the shot. That’s what it is all about.

Congrats flair! Keep up the dedication and great vids!
I was really feeling down and depressed today but this video really helped thanks flair
Quick tip, don’t grab onto the bow, hold it with a more open grip… it helps with accuracy and with the string hitting your arm
Looks like he held it pretty good if ya ask me ha ha
