      Tiana Akaeke they asked if I had any questions and asked each one - panel of 3 for 2 rounds. I took notes on the question paper Darnell suggested making and they looked so shocked by it. It is really what put me in first place. One question I asked was with the plans for the team’s fiscal year, what could I contribute to help meet the goals?

    Thank you Darnell. I was so anxious to get a job that I did not ask "Q2. What are the day-to-day responsibilities of the position?. My manager kept changing it. Then I asked for my job description. Silence. I went to HR to ask silence. In short I was laid off. Q5. How would you describe your company culture? And what kind of people are successful here? - I found out, was who can buy food, buddy up and curry favor with the boss. Colleagues were buying her daughter presents (i-pads and gifts). I cannot do that. Nothing objective, it was all subjective. Excellent video. As I go to interviews now, I am asking these questions upfront. It was too stressful not knowing where the goal post or home plate is. Thanks again for your guidance.

    Thank you so much for your sharing your expertise. In addition, I went on an interview today and I did very well. I followed exactly what you said and the interviewer informed me that out of all of the candidates she interviewed, I was the only one that asked questions. Furthermore, she stated that it shows that I'm interested in this job. Moreover, at the end of the interview, I said that I want this job and everyone at the table smiled and laughed. As, I was walking out the door the supervisor said, You did a great job! I told her thank you and she told me to have a great weekend. Lastly, I followed up with a thank you letter.

    Do entry level positions not exist anymore. I don't understand why tier 1 help desk jobs need you to have an associate's degree, A+ certification, and CCNA certification

    • @taylamade5305
      @taylamade5305 4 роки тому

      Entry level exists. If you are starting out start with ITIL foundation certification. You don't need to have an associates degree, just work your way through the certifications depending on what area you want to specialize in e.g. Networks aka A+, N+ certs. If you have the above certs you mentioned you won't be on tier 1 for long, you'll be snapped up quick smart 😁

      @@taylamade5305 I'm tired of working on a promise. I was told getting an associate's would get me a job and that got me nowhere. I don't need to pour more money into getting certifications when there is no guarantee that my effort will be worth it.

    Number 2 should already know what the duties are before applying! Asking that one will show you are clueless to the job position

    What advise would you give if you left a job for a New one . But once you got the job you don't really like it. And want to go back to the old job. What would you suggest?

      My Miss Collins, if you left your old job in great standing, contact your old boss and say, you made a big mistake and then, ask if you can come back.

    Hello Mr. Clarke. From a hiring manager's perspective, is it a pro or con when an applicant has been with one employer for 5+ years?

    If they say they had a reservations and you explain their concerns was not a problem , then it helps you get pushed through.

    Good day , Can we expect companies will tell us that they swear as style of their culture . just to refer to the example you said about GM's culture.

    5:57 that's bs if all hiring managers have that mindset how are you ever supposed to even get experience when none of them want to give you a chance at the job.

      I agree here, a lot of things don't add up. For an example 2nd question:"What responsibilities does the person that you hire will have?" Responsibilities are are listed in the job offer online and in the company website and discussed during the interview. I am sorry but i find this sort of question very stupid.

      Is the responsibilities not the Job description or specifications?
