I'm never pleased with my white stitches either! I don't know why that particular floss just stitches up differently. I take them extra slow and make sure to drop my needle to untwist the floss often.

As always I enjoyed. I'm a messy stitcher so WIP keeper is gorgeous with a thread pad that's genius, never seen that before, mini spools and needle thing. Love santa and of course Forest Friends. I think there is already too much purple in piece most likely, so other color. 2 I watched both back to back but would adopt start on Christmas.

My daughter was watching with me, and heard you were stitching halloween instead of Christmas. She commented that its better to stitch halloween because it's "Summerween" (from the the Disney show "Gravity Falls") 😊. Love all of your stitching! I've been in kind of a slump for a little bit and seeing all the cute things makes me want to stitch. I really like 2, I can never get enough Christmas stitching.
We might have to watch that show, I've heard a lot of people mention it!

Hi Helen, happy early Independence Day to you. We had a very quiet Canada Day. Back from a 6 day vacation in Toronto, I got to go to my first brick and mortar in 18 years. Really nice goodies from the retreat, I bought Hello Summer today to stitch for a swap I'm doing, but I can't wait to stitch it again for myself. Great progress on your WIPs. For the SAL I like the blue/grey fabric. 2

Hello Helen, I really enjoyed Your flosstube today. I will be doing Christmas in July as Halloween is not my jam. Your retreat sounded very nice and I had seen one review of it but Sarah the Northwoods Stitcher. She really was quite highly praising it, and it sounded like alot of fun. I live in Texas and it is really too far for me..
I hope that You get everything done this summer that You want to,, but it sounds like You will be crazy busy for awhile..

I'm watching one of your earlier videos. I'm working on a large Phoenix on 16count Aida. I usually start in the middle of the pattern and work my way out. The Phoenix is 4 pages across by 3 pages vertically. I stitched all of the 6 pages on the left of center first; I just finished the middle page in column 3. I don't use a hoop. While stitching the center (7th) page on the right, I've noticed a ripple. I think I may have stitched too tightly or pulled too snug when stitching 'traveling' stitches. Any suggestions on how to flatten it?
I think I would try to iron it and see if that makes a difference. Sometimes I get a line in the fabric from my q snap that seems like more than just a crease, but it usually irons out.
I am trying to not fall head first into cross stitch and buying ALL OF THE THINGS, but you make it so difficult...haha. I am back to stitching after a 30-year hiatus. I am also a monogamous stitcher and find that I want to collect/hoard all of the things. It is difficult not to do that.
That is the biggest challenge of stitching!! 😂

Your Santa Claus finish is so good - that blue is striking! Have fun stitching in July on your Halloween projects. How are you going to stitch the individual black spots on the mystery one (From the UK) Will you carry your thread? It reminds me of this years Cross Stitch Camp by the Colorado Stitcher - and as a newbie, that was challenging and makes me leery of trying something like that again. I'm not sure I approached it in the right way.

Good question. I'm quite sure I'll carry the thread, I hate doing one stitch at a time. I'll try to remember to show my back and talk about it when I start it.

1, 2. Isn't it fun when you have plans and then something pops up and they change? That's why I always pencil in my stitchy plans. I had planned out my month, and it's already changed twice. I am rotating between Christmas in July and patriotic pieces until the Olympics. Then I'll be stitching for the Olympics. Now I want to add in some Halloween. Hmmmm...
That's why I usually never bother to talk about plans. Mine are always changing,! 😂
I am going to be stitching monster house by satsuma, deadly aquarium by Lola crow AND haunted cuckoo clock by tiny modernist. Definitely summerween and not Christmas in July! 1, 2

Hi Helen! Your Santa piece looks fantastic! And I love the Tiny Modernist piece youre working on too. I saw Janet Jabber stitching it on a dark green fabric, and I think it really pops on both the green and the color you're using. I'll have to keep a lookout for when that pattern is released. Your retreat sounded nice! I'm heading to one myself in a couple of weeks, and I'm looking forward to just stitching and catching up with friends😊. Happy Spooky July😊
