@@Gmaninator10 Sorry for the delay but we will definitely be uploading a bunch of strategy videos along with some gameplay. This weekend we will be going to a release event and will hopefully get some footage from it
I’d always recommend using a d6 die to track damage to avoid little hiccups during gameplay. Even if you’ve mastered the math, it’s always a safe measure to ensure a fun and productive game state. Awesome video!
This seems like if Magic: the Gathering adopted some stuff from Hearthstone. Also the Shift mechanic reminds me of evolving in pokemon. Really exited to see how this project turns out, it has a lot of potential.
From what I can tell, it's literally MTG grabing combat sistem from Hearthstone, as well as their mulligan and the fact that creatures don't lose damage at end of turn. Curious to see how it will work out.
Yes agreed, lots of aspects from different games, from our gameplay and the events we’ve been to, it seems like the first couple chapters will be simple gameplay and then hopefully advance from there as most other TCGs have
@@IllumineerAcademywait til the counterfeits arrive. Everything will be dirt cheap. These cards have no anti counterfeit features and the holographic is plain. I feel that good fakes will be impossible to tell apart
That is a fear for us as well, however, with the great reception in the first weekend, we are sure Ravensburger is already working on ways to stop that
That’s our hope too! If anything it’ll just be hard to get them in the first round of shipments. From what we’ve learned, Ravensburger really wants people to play the game over just pure collecting. Also they will be selling in big box stores after local game stores, so in the long run, you should be able to get your hands on the product
@@Nopejams From what I've seen so far the biggest issue are the american player base on Facebook just going bananas and screaming FOMO FOMO. They are so afraid of the amount not beeing enough and already claiming it is true based on some weird Convention first time sales... So messed up. 😕
@@Nopejams honestly that is the real hold out for so many people including us. We really don't want to have to pay double. Once the second wave of allotment comes or when the big box stores are stocked we will buy most of our product
Yeah we agree and from the couple tournaments we’ve done for opening weekend people aren’t super strict about it. I think this may be a rule change in the future
A bit worried we will have some serious issues with early game weenie decks flooding the board vs. decks that ramp heavily into the big hitters and "inkers". I've not seen all the cards yet but that is just my intuitive feel as a long time Magic the Gathering player. :)
This was a concern for us as well, but after seeing some great board wipes come out, like big Tinkerbell, we are sure there will be a great counter to the aggro decks
So are we! The first set seems to be very simple in its rules and the new keywords we’ve learned so far aren’t crazy complex either. The only problem will be the poachers who come and buy all the stock and try to resell at crazy margins
@@izahaamell4115 of course! Thank you for engaging and asking a great question! Let us know if you have any others or what to see something in particular from us. If you want to reach out directly send us a message through twitter or Instagram
@IllumineerAcademy of course! I'm very excited about this game after playing with proxies of the starter decks. I personally would love to see some techs and maybe some draft tips
To our best understanding, if someone is unable to draw at the beginning of their turn they lose. It could definitely be an idea with future sets, however it would be too slow at this point
What is the advantage of doing the challenging if the opponent damages your creatures as well? To do the challenging you need to give up your chance at adding lore counters and the opponent gets the benefits of the challenging as well. It seems like a huge tempo loss for who does the challenging.
Great point! Through our understanding of certain deck building strategies that we will release a video about soon, the advantage comes through having larger characters and characters with bonus abilities. Some can even take away damage from previously damaged characters. Yes you may lose some lore tempo but you also take away their chances of gaining lore in the future
I don’t mean to say that you don’t explain it well. I’m just not the smartest person and it take me a very long time to learn something. Oftentimes I give up because of my inability to comprehend things that most people can easily grasp quickly. I’m a very slow learner. I’ve never been diagnosed with a learning disability but I’ve always struggled behind others in school and still as an adult. I’ve tried to learn many thinks like the harmonica, guitar and other skills but I lose interest quickly due to my failure. Maybe someday I’ll be able to figure something out. Nonetheless, I guess I can always just look forward to collecting some of these cool cards. Thank you for your video.
The video does seem good, just way more complicated than anyone would think a Disney TCG would be. Was expecting a Level 1 Pokemon set, not MtG w/ a weird set gimmick.
@@Nersius totally get that, but I am sure once you play a couple games you'll get the hang of it. If you have any questions about the mechanics, let us know!
The cards look rushed, not one has art that captivates me. Mechanically looks like ass. This is gonna be a game that people buy to have the cards because it has disney on it and i doubt people will be playing this at my lgs. Willpower is the worst legaly not toughness you could have chose. Defense, health, etc. Pass Edit: the beginning phase lol lazy name. Main phase is just ripped from magic just like untap. They stole the inkwell system from FaB where cards are lands also
The game is based off an existing IP which is a big red flag and it has unsplashable cards. The decks can be one or two colors, but no splashes allowed and no neutral cards to tinker with. All of that combined with the lawsuit against Ravensburger.... this game is a flash in a pan.@@IllumineerAcademy
You make some solid points, but we are going to stick with our optimistic views! I am sure that people thought Magic wouldn't make it but here we are 30 years later. Only time will tell.
this is the best starter explanation video out there. i have looked through dozens of other videos over the past few days!

Thanks for your support and great advice! What do you think of the damage counters Ravensburger is providing?
From what I’ve seen on Lorcana’s site, is their how to play characters section shows -1 and -3 counters. Those would definitely do the trick.
@@stevensancheztcg54 totally agree! And since the counters come with so many different products it'll be easy to pick some up

We appreciate that, the first was a bit odd and are happy with the new

You cannot. As of right now, you can only do anything on your own turn
