Back in my hayday early on during the Wings of Liberty days I used mass ravens with marines and bunkers, early building armor. get a sneaky base early ish. and mass the ravens, but we also had way better auto turrets and Hunter seeker missiles... ahhh those were days, I made IDRA so mad on ladder multiple times with this strat.
Hey Thermal! To echo another comment from another video I'd love to see you play the campaign with the Nightmare difficulty mod. Love watching you play MP but would also really love seeing how you tackle nightmare.

No Mineral mining SCVs to Grandmaster - only mules :) SCVs for gas is ok :) Though it might be easier to just allow 15 SCVs max for the game.
Loving the clutch moves (especially in the 3rd game) and the play-by-play commentary. I missed these challenges!

You had all those Ravens, and I did not see you use an anti-armor missile.
Maybe use one anti-armor missile and then drop a whole bunch of turrets. That might amplify the effect of the turrets.
Also, you could use mules to heal up those Ravens, if you have a big clump of Ravens on the opposite side of the map.
The Ovie in your base in game 2 was very stress inducing
Blizzard hates Terran having splash damage,not only both Zerg and Protoss got more splash with new units, but also Collosus got a buff. Terran not only lost seeker missile but now they nerfed mines.
Terran has siege tanks. Lol.
I thought you were allowed to remake marines up to the limit when they get killed. I'm 90% sure that was the interpretation of the rule in the previous challenges.

Thermy can defend a roach ravager all-in with 3 marines on the low ground. I can't defend it with 10 marines and a tank.

@uthermal With all the benefit of knowing what your build is etc... I would say the best thing a zerg player could do is either get some corruptors/mutas out, build a viper or go for an early roach pressure. Whatever the choice I just don't think they can let you get to multi planetary fortress and 1000 turret setup or else it seems a little doomed. The one thing I really think your comp does well is demand some kind of skill from the zerg just because if they want to do a ling run by and you got mines all over the place doing ling splits is not the easiest thing to do, to drag/minimise damage.

I honestly don't understand the raven/turret nerf. I haven't seen ravens be particularly OP in the ladder or in professional play. I swear someone on the community patch committee watches your stream and then implements changes to fuck it up. The cyclone nerf is still one of the biggest patch mistakes possible. It's like all they want are marine tanks attacks.
No, they nerfed auto turrets bc of TvT, they were too op counter tanks
I remember a few seasons ago, one of the many nerfs to Ravens was with the excuse that they "didn't want people massing spellcasters" - next pro tournament I saw a top zerg build 17 infestors at the same time. Nothing was said.
@@Tsnafu There were a couple of points where ravens were completely op. I remember being able to destroy entire armies with mass seaker missiles. And there was also a point early on where auto turrets were op. They had a lot of health and a really long duration.

I would think Ultra/Ling/Bane would counter this pretty hard. Have the ultra's lead the charge. Those turrets and mines are going to do very little damage to them, the banes can burst down the planetary's, and the lings mop up the rest.

Auto-Turrets are immune to widow mine firing friendly fire.
Auto-turrets count as buildings. Widow mines can't target nor damage buildings, right?
The Overlord survived 10mins in the natural and not a single Nydus in there
if i remember correctly it took 7 auto turrets to kill a hatch
This is my fav build, even after nerf. I set up mine zones of death to contain them in base and go in and out with the Ravens, just chipping. Lowest GG to game ratio.

Long distance mining to gm like you can't mine on your main every scv probe need to go down and mine in the second expand (no CC lift)

Also might not be the best time for Raven Mine to GM if both the Raven and Mine got nerfed into the ground

I hate ravens. Especially during the Heart of the Swarm days.
Scouting MULEs challenge. You are only allowed to scout using MULEs. At least half your MULEs must be for scouting. Instead of a regular scan, you can scan the corner of their base and drop down a MULE into the corner that you have vision of, and run around their base with your MULE.
