Mothership was valueable throughout SC2 history, It was OP af in WoL, Mothership core dominated HotS and only in LotV has it turned into -400/-400 meme material

This is every day on his youtube channel; you literally cant watch too long cuz your smile muscles get exhausted.
By all accounts, the first game looks the furthest thing possible to a professional game.
These low econ, high tech cheese builds feel straight out of wings of liberty. I love it.

For the second rush, uThermal should have targeted that one Pylon that was powering everything. You can't see an Artosis pylon like that and not target it.

Uthermal is basically retired/semi-retired. He doesn't try to be competitive and does lots of highly entertaining content for his Twitch/YT viewers - going for meme challenges like hitting GM with cyclones only etc. I'd recommend it if you still enjoy watching Starcraft.
Because the game is basically dead at this point when it comes to new players he still gets invited to lots of these tourneys and he spices things up with cheese builds since it's not like he can beat Serral or Classic in a macro game.
@@Iwmar He's still #19 ept points in europe. Even now that he's a full time youtuber instead of a pro he can still take maps off most of the pros.

I believe there was a prize for most entertaining series or something similar in the tournament. These may have been played after they knew they wouldn't advance from groups.

Oh yeah I remember this guy, one of the more bad mannered players when he was a pro.
If Thermy spent as much time practicing his builds against pros instead of lower mmr players on the ladder for content he'd be a real top level threat.
He was a top level threat and iem winner. At his top game he was 7k mmr. He is retired from pro gaming but still occasionally competes.

Why is player base so low nowadays? What can be done to make it better and why blizzard doesn't give sht about it?
Player base is still high. 13 years after the game came out, plus it's been reduced to a 'classic game' by blizzard and you can still basically find a game instantly- that's impressive
