You’re not kidding. I saw Bruce live a few years later, in early ‘78, in Philadelphia. He was astounding.
His voice was so powerful at this stage of his career.

No song has ever moved me as this one does. For more than 45 years it still takes me on such an emotional journey.
couldn't agree more, it's so interesting to read diferent interpretations on whom he's singing about...i guess we'll never know... only adds to the mystique.
To me this is his most underrated song.
The studio version of this song is his first really good song in my opinion this is also if you liked this you should check out the live from Dublin version as well
I notice the views compared to the thumbs up and I can only come to one conclusion: The same people have been watching it at least one hundred times each. I know I am at the period where I must listen to it just 2-3 times a day now. I can't get enough of this tune and Lost in the Flood from this series.

Your right,I can't stop watching Bruce and The E Street Band,live at Hammersmith.With a good set of headphones.The sound mix is fantastic.The performance is Extraordinary. Bruce's voice was strong.The energy .Off the chain,so passionate and pure is this performance. Ad Clarence's powerful Sax solos and The sharp ass Suits and hats that he and Miami Steve are sporting,and the whole Band is sooo tight.Saw Bruce's River tour which was incredible. But this show might be The Best I've ever seen on video.Ever period hands down!

This is one of the most raw, emotional and beautiful versions of one of my favorites of his. Always gets me. I never thought his albums showcased his voice the same as how he performed them live.
how lucky was the crowd to witness this concert? it's gotta be one of the greatest shows of all time. the performance of this song is absolutely masterful and just about brings me to tears every time i listen to it.
You are totally correct. I saw Bruce in August of '75, 3 months before this show and it was by far the BEST concert I'd ever been to. He was fairly unknown at the time and I only knew one song - Kitty's Back. The energy, the professionalism, even the perfect lighting changes when the tempo changed - WOW. I was blown away - his music was so different and fresh at the time, it's no wonder he quickly peaked!!!

Is like a gift from the Gods.Best.concert I have ever seen on video masterful performance .The.Boss.Broke the Mold in 1975 !Now I understand the Time Magazine Cover saying.Ive seen the future of Rockn Roll and it's name is Bruce Springsteen. That could have been way too much hype to live up to for many artists.Bruce obviously surpassed those expectations.Its now 2024 andBruce just received a Medal of Honor from The Whitehouse for his outstanding contribution to American Music.Music and lyrics that have masterfully captured the American spirit

Lovingly emotional song that Bruce sings about a woman he truly loved and was broken hearted.

This is Bruce laid bare to the bone. This is the ultimate 'we-broke-up-but-I-cant-let-you-go' song. With all the heartfelt sorrow, with all the pain, tears, every f*ckin' piece of pain in it. I think it is one of the few errors Bruce made to put this song in the band version on the album instead of this acoustic/piano version. This gives so much more power to the song. And i yet again proves Bruce to be an incredible, almost limitless musician. Breathtaking.

This is one of my favorite Springsteen songs. This rendition is so wistful and filled with such genuine sadness.
When I was in college, someone I knew well and who knew me very well, all my secrets, said this song reminded him of me. At that time, it was true., I was psychologically broken. This song gave me hope and still has formidable powers over me especially hearing it this version. So different from the recorded version. Ah, those were hard times....
It is as if Bruce is in his bedroom playing his new song about someone he loves very much. I hope you are doing really well now. This is not a bad song to relate to...

I am so very sorry...this was a suicide of sorts too...an emotional suicide by both parties unable to cope with each other's needs.
