“I swear I’d drive all night again just to buy you some shoes”....I go around singing this line all the time. Love it and I love these two precious souls...
A Boss song is always a go to...especially, when I lose faith in this damn world, and humanity...renews me, and lets me know, I'm not alone or unique, better people have gone thru this crap, and survived and even thrived....
Glen Hansard and Eddie's Vedders harmonisations reminds me of how well Layne Staley and Jerry Cantrell were the perfect compliment to each others voices and harmonies ❤️
Great touch to add a bit of the wonderful John Hiatt at the very end. I can remember back to 1978 when "Drive All Night" was still just an emotional improvised monologue near the end of live performances of Bruce's song "Backstreets" (a song whose piano intro still gives me chills after nearly half a century).
@@thuhuynh7194 Numerous live performances from 1978. My favorite would be the version from the Winterland Theatre in San Fransisco December 15th. Some people refer to it as the "Sad Eyes" interlude on bootleg song lists.
Wow . I'm in awe of the power of his voice such passion in every note / song he sings . N he's Irish :) sadly he doesn't get the recognition he deserve's
Thank you, thank you, thank you Glen and Eddie. Breathtaking as usual. So lovely and inspiring. Full of love, awe and sweet, sweet music. So happy that I'm alive today.
Eddie Veder is more beautiful inside than out!! A great soul that makes beautiful music! Thanks for years of enjoyment! Stay Real!!! Peace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Their voices match so well! So much passion and emotions. I really love Bruce, he is and will always be my Nr.1. But this version is 230853 times better than his original. I saw Glen and Ed live twice. It´s heaven!
Friendship is a powerful connection. Everyone felt it at this concert, I can tell. I got goosebumps just watching this video. I've seen Glenn play in Seattle a few times and heard the story of how they met each other. Those are ties that bind. Community.
It is a bit of a sad story that Glenn shared at his concert with us in Seattle but I love that something positive came out of it. Someone committed suicide at one of Glenn's concerts. This had happened to Pearl Jam at a concert as well at some point in their career. When Eddie heard about what happened at Glenn's concert he called him up to talk it out and let him know he was there for him. They had never met. This started a deeper friendship between the two to say the least. Life and death situations have a tendency to do that.
My sister and I went to quite a few shows, Melbourne included. Glad you're still smiling, they were both brilliant. I seem to well up and get covered in goosebumps every time I hear Guaranteed, whether live or otherwise. The most amazing time was one of Ed's Sydney shows that year. He told a story that I'll keep private but it had a bit of added meaning for me which was kinda special and at the very first strum of the guitar every hair on my body stood on end, a stinging tear or two formed and I just felt this very special moment unfolding. The deep sorrow of the past and possibly of the future was all ok and in that moment on I just enjoyed the love, the music and that old rare but familiar feeling of awe and ecstasy. Not bad for a night out! :)
Is it any wonder that they call Bruce, the Boss? Two musical giants giving us a truly Grrrrrrreat rendition. I think it all started with a Masterpiece of songwriting though.
Thank you so much I am personally interacting with a couple of my fans and you are among the lucky few. I will love to text privately with you on mail. Is that okay with you?
awww, I love GH and The Boss, I dont think anyone can outshine him on this one but Id love to hear just Vedder do this one solo....I bet he'd kick ass on it....just my opinion but id love to hear him do it....Love all 3 of them, but I dunno, I think Eddie could really pull something from this song, which is my favorite from The River btw...
well i dont know but i never seen more passion than in the bruce version thats on his yt channel from somewhere in scandinavia.. this is also amazing i love their performance of falling slowly in florence this year it was amazing and theyre all amazing =)
I have everything Bruce has done and LOVE him, but this is perfection. I was lucky enough to see Glenn, Eddie and Jake Clemons perform this together at an Eddie solo gig in Brisbane, Australia - its the single best thing I've ever seen live
The chemistry of these two is the frequency of love. 528mhz. I adore them. 🧡💛
I swear their voices go together like bread and butter in every performance they do.
Like peanut butter and chocolate 💕😊⚔️
So true!
Omg yes best description ever and Glenn is so underrated and omg Ed as amazing as ever
Glen has a gift: he brings the best out of everybody he sings with...🙂
Glen sings the hell out of every single song. He never phones it in, so anyone joining has to do the same to keep up with him.
Boy hope Mr vedder can keep up
Eddie was my high school crush. This number is like a dream 🥰
Doesn't matter what song you play. Eddie Vedder will always sing it better. Legend
“I swear I’d drive all night again just to buy you some shoes”....I go around singing this line all the time. Love it and I love these two precious souls...
Eddie acting like his old self, all shy. Love him. ☺️
Respecting the space of the main artist of the night. Love him too
Later in 2013 Glenn was invited on stage by Mr. Springsteen to play "Drive All Night" with him in front of about 50,000 in Kilkenny, Ireland.
sometimes all you need is an acoustic guitar and 2 great musicians.
always.
bodjie bermundo Yes!
Exactly bruh 💕👏👏
It's true and Happy New Year Ed ❣️🎈❣️
and a hand shandy

Glen Hansard and Eddie's Vedders harmonisations reminds me of how well Layne Staley and Jerry Cantrell were the perfect compliment to each others voices and harmonies ❤️
This is a daily listen...They are so adorable and comfortable together...Love the stomping of their feet!
😂 my feet stomp along every time ❤
Saw it live. It was amazing. Best perfomance I've ever seen. It was in 3rd August 2012 in Portugal
I get shivers too...

Wow that's insightful! Thank you
Could you tell me which live version it is😊?

Vedder's harmonies are killer. I love the live version Hansard does with Bruce but this one is equally as beautiful.
Absolutely gorgeous performance ❤
They killed it.

These guys are dope together man. Great harmonizing, chemistry, and a great classic song choice.

In my personal experience of the last 44 years a Bruce Springsteen song is ALWAYS the right thing to do- sometimes the ONLY thing.
This is fucking phenomenal.
Wow! Greetings from Brazil!
Glorious version of a great Springsteen song.
Ughhhhh they are so rad!!! One of the greatest duos I've ever seen. Make an album together or deprive everyone!
Glen is living his dream...
Awesome Eddie and Glenn. You rule

Thank you, thank you, thank you Glen and Eddie. Breathtaking as usual. So lovely and inspiring. Full of love, awe and sweet, sweet music. So happy that I'm alive today.
This is one of the most awesome things I've ever seen/heard. I wonder what the Boss himself thinks of that...

You know your a star when Eddie vedder is your back up
This leaves me gob-smacked and GOD-SMACKED! - May He bless these guys and everyone who truly loves them!
+Alan Sparrow this leaves you VEDDER or HANSARD SMACKED since god had nothing to do with it.

Margaret Carter I can't imagine anyone doing that at a concert of such beautiful music????
I know, right? This person jumped off the balcony or some rigging or something. I'll try to find an article about it.

Take a beautiful Bruce Springsteen song, add Eddie Vedder and Glen Hansard, and it comes out like this, amazing 🤩
Saw them together in Melbourne (Australia) a few weeks ago. Great concert. Separate and together they were amazing. I'm still smiling!

Gotta love these guys!
I really do!
Real depth to this emotional performance by Glen; prefer the simplicity of this one compared Springsteen, but Springsteen's rendition is great also
Glen Hansard next week at the Vic in Chicago! Yes! Be great if the boss or Eddie dropped by.
love this. one of my favourite songs . Can't wait to see these two in cork in June. .
Amazing Duo
This gave me tears.
love this so much!
Always the right thing to do
Love this!!!
Magic!
Don't cry now...Baby can you feel it..

Fav singers and fav songs for me
Amazing!!! For the first time ever a Springsteen song performed better then the master himself. Both vocals sounds just right. Thanks for posting
I hate to agree with you because I love Bruce, but I think GH sings it with more passion!
