Good morning and happy Thursday! Almost to the weekend, so hang in there everyone :-)
One of the other UA-camrs I follow opened this box yesterday, so even before I watched yours I knew this one is a *5 out of 5* for me. It's one of their best projects yet. Gorgeous Tula Pink fabric with perfectly-coordinated lining & zipper, and a charming little zipper pull. The double closure with the zipper 90 degrees from how it traditionally would be installed is so intriguing! The fact that one can make it using fat quarters is a double-plus for sure; it's sometimes difficult to find new, interesting projects for fat quarters amidst the sea of "hair scrunchy, baby skirt, plain flat zipper pouch." Even the thread is beautiful, almost a lilac color (lilacs were my mother's favorite flower). Even the binding looks nice on it, a feature I generally do not care for. I confess to hopefully opening the description to see if you were going to give it away, but alas you are keeping it for yourself (and who could blame you??) Well, patience is a virtue, and they'll have the pattern up for sale on the website in a few weeks.
I love wash-out markers, although I"ve not used this particular brand before (JoAnn only carries Clover). There's a little artist's paintbrush in the sewing room, which I dip in ice water and paint the marks away. Works like a charm! The line is very pale at first stroke, however it will darken in a few seconds so it's best to wait a bit before drawing over it again. The only downside is they don't show up well at all on dark fabrics, so you'll want to use another method on those for sure.
Question of the day: what color would I never use in a quilt? There isn't one. Any color can look nice as part of the right palette, and the more I sew the more I'm liking colors I snubbed before.

5 is my vote also! Yes, I knew you despised yellow and disliked mustard! LOL! I avoid black and dark browns! I am definitely a pastel lover but will go out of my comfort zone if the grandchildren request special colors (what a Nana won't do for her Grands). I must tell you that your Magenta top, earrings and headpiece is just gorgeous♥ Love you my friend♥
5 I cant wait to make this! I dont have a color I dont like. I generally dont care for primary color combos…but someone will come along and make a liar out of me now that Ive said that. :)
Hello Holly I love the pattern in this box. Eggplant is one of the colors I most gravitate towards. I give this box a 5. White is a color that I try not too use to much. I enjoy a darker background. They seem to bring out the colors more in a quilt to me. Have an amazing day

AWESOME box. I love the grape zipper, the bee zipper pull, and even the fabric for the bag. I give it a 5/5. Loved the lavender thread. Purple is my favorite color 💜. I don't have a color that I dislike. When I use white, it has to be a tone on tone, unless it's a small piece. I also have to have a print or tone on tone for brown. We all knew what colors you would say! I really don’t have a color I wouldn’t ever use. I would prefer to not do an entirely pink quilt - but if a grandchild asked….

Boy, I got this box and was SO excited by this projects. I made it the next day, staying up late to hand sew the binding on it. It's such a unique design for a pouch. I love it! And a purple zipper with a bumble bee!!! What could be better?! I love the fabric, accessories and zipper. I've also never used the magnetic snaps so I learned a new skill and got to practice for the second time on installing a zipper pull. Your tips and tricks from a previous video came in super handy for that. If I could give this a 10, I would! So 5+!
That’s odd that you don’t like yellow but that is the color of dandelions…hummm… I don’t think that there is not a color that I wouldn’t use in a quilt. All colors work together to form a beautiful picture. I love how that box gives you everything you need to make the project.

I give it a 5 beautiful fabric and a great value. I truly love every color. I avoid too much white in a quilt and usually use an off white or gray.

This is a great box, I give it a 5. Purple is a color I avoid whenever possible but when you have a granddaughter who loves purple , well a Grammie has got to do whatever is necessary. 😂

This project looks sew fun! I love Tula Pink fabrics! I wouldn't usually put orange or brown in my own quilts. If they are for someone else maybe I would but they aren't my favorite colors at all lol. I give this box a 5/5. I love it and think it's worth the price. Have a great day!

5 love the bee zipper pull 🐝 Purple is my least favorite to work with in quilts. Royal purple and green look nice together, but then you have a big Joker quilt.

The pouch is beautiful. I give it a 5. I don't include brown in any shade or tone in anything I make.
I give it a 5 and a 5. I have two young grandsons. I have made a Halloween quilt for each. Today I will begin to bind them. Boy oh boy do I wish I had a sister who would bind them.
Yellow and orange are my least favorites.
The only washable markers I have found that truly wash out are the Crayola washable markers. Since I always launder my quilts when done I don't have any problems. Crayola markers are meant to be washed out. They come in colors that show on all fabrics. They are also very cost effective. I would give this box a 3 since quilts are about all I sew anymore. That magenta color on you makes your complexion glow. May everyone's day be blessed.

Hi Holly, I love the project and the fabric. I agree it is a five. The colors I would hesitate on putting in a quilt is a very dark brown and black green.

This is a 5. Everything you need is there. Cute pouch. I don't use the blue markers as I hear it comes back....but don't use..so can't confirm. I don't care for some greens.....mostly dark pine greens.
It's a simple project, with lovely fabric and embellishments. I always enjoy these sewers club project boxes. I'll give it a 4. Colors I avoid? Hmm, I don't really avoid anything. Maybe tan?
My Vote: 5 and 5 I really think this company has the best prices for what you get. And there is no color that I would not use in a quilt. I used to dislike brown and orange, but they have their place in quilting. AND I like odd, weird and strange fabrics - some might even say "ugly." I will adopt all the "ugly duckling" fabrics that nobody else wants. LOL The only fabric I will not use in a quilt is fabric that is too thin, and even then, I have ways to use it too - just not in a quilt.
I love the flowers in your hair. Go, team, go. We are going to be OK. We are enough!. I like the pattern. Like the teal but not the wild animal print. I give it a 4. I shopped at Pretty Little Hedgehog after I watched your info about it. nice site. Thanks for that suggestion. I don't like to use white if I can help it. I like brights and bolds.

I would give the box 5/5. It looks like a great value! I don’t generally use brown in a quilt. That being said my husband picked out a pattern and some fabric and it had some brown fabric in it. I’m working on it but it is taking more time to get it done because I don’t find the fabric as exciting to work with.

I like the project, pattern and fabric in this box and I think the price is very reasonable. How sweet of your sister. I'd give it a 5 also. I tend to avoid that ugly orange color (mustardy like). The second would be too much yellow.
Sewers Club Project Box - definite 5. Fabric is fabulous and even though I don't have a lot of experience with bags, I would like to make this one. The detail in the coordinated items is great, and k love bees

Great value, I’d make the project-if I could choose another fabric, don’t like that one much. I vote 4 because of that. I work in all colors, even those I’m not particularly fond of, sometimes the quilt just needs it.
It's a 5 for me, too. I almost always like this box the best - easy, fast projects that are cute and useful. To answer the question, I really dislike the color red. The only time I can stomach it is during the holidays and even then, I dislike it. Interestingly, I love mustard and yellow hahaha

The only color I probably would never use is pea soup green unless it was part of a pre cut bundle and really looked good with the other colors.
