when they don't feed us it makes our day a bit longer , i been in situations like that but now we eat before we go ..just in case ...but like you said we survive , honestly when i am just really hungry i ask a waitress if they can fix me a plate , they usually do with a smile on their face and i always always give a shout out to the waiters and staff for the awesome job they do... and when i do come back to the same venue they believe it or not they remember me and feed me lol ... once again awesome job Rachel !! from your number one fan in Chicago..

If there is walk up music, yes. Gives them an opportunity to “walk” rather than just stand up at their seat or automatically stand by the couple. I don’t always have “walk up” tracks though so it depends. Appreciate you checking this out. 🙂
It looks like you're running a single bodypack mic for your ceremony. How is the sound with just one, does the upgraded CL3 cardioid make a big difference? I've always ran one on the officiant and one on the groom, but love finding ways to reduce gear load when I can! Great gig log.
I always run one. I use a Omni directional mic so it pics up on everyone. Works great! I usually have the officiant out the mic on a binder or book so it’s centered to everyone.

Hey! New suscriber. From spain. Working on weddings here is very difficult, because most dj events company offer the same thing: -a guy with a laptop and pirate Virtual DJ 7 version, also ytmp3 downloaded songs. If they don't do this, they use 2 laptops with Spotify! Hahahaha... In the company where I work, we are only 2 djs that offer a new show, mixing songs and connecting with public. The most tipical here in spain is animate the free drink period (where guests are able to drink what they want for free) but i do a "musical" game. Between dinner, while they're waiting food, i say (in spanish obviously): "Table (number of table)" and i put a random song (specially, danceable spanish classics between 80s-to now)
What is awesome diverse playlist! You had something for everyone! It doesn’t look like you have an assistant, but your lights are awesome! Is that just sound mode with the a lab Maxis or do you program everything?
Most times I don’t have an assistant. My gear is extremely streamlined and efficient. I want to be as independent as possible. I'm just using Apelabs Maxi uplights with MusikMode. They are phenomenal. It's the entire reason I got them. I do not have any interest in complicated lighting or DMX as a one-woman show. I want to turn it on and just have it look fun and inviting. These do the job perfectly.
Low is 129 BPM Toxic is 143 BPM I split the difference with their BPM and gradually increase Toxic during the transition of the two songs. I used STEMS to cut the vocals of low and layer toxic over it. That’s the blend you hear. Then I have my Crossfade mapped to “echo out “ when I switch decks.

I use my cell phone which is an iPhone 14 ProMax and a $20 selfie stick off of Amazon. I then edit everything on my cell phone using an app called InShot. Literally everything is done right on my cell phone. I’m as low tech as they come.
you don't generally want to turn your input up past 12 oclock. past 12 is for mic gain only. does it kill it, no. but that's what the digital gain on the main volume knob is for....
I honestly don’t care at all about dinner, ever. I don’t eat most weddings. I’m too busy to eat or not hungry because I’m too focused on working. I’m definitely NOT one of those DJs that demands meals in a contract. I think that’s silly. I eat before if I can or grab something after the event, like I did here. If a DJ has a medical condition that requires dietary needs, they should plan accordingly and be responsible for what they need to be well and feel good. I’d take pizza over anything anyway! ❤️🍕💯

While a lot of DJ controllers do have inferior mic inputs, I don’t need to use an external mixer with the Roland 707M DJ controller. It has incredible input flexibility, and fantastic mic preamps. It’s the reason I got it.

It’s because of both. The Evolve 50 and the RE3 microphone capsule I use rejects microphone feedback very well. The Electro-Voice Evolve 50 speakers are engineered to have excellent feedback rejection capabilities. The Evolve 50 speakers utilize digital signal processing algorithms that actively detect and suppress feedback frequencies. This technology helps prevent the occurrence of feedback loops. Additionally, the speakers are designed with a dispersion pattern, reducing the likelihood of microphones picking up the speaker output. The microphone is also designed with a specific audio profile that helps reject microphone feedback. Between the two feed and is almost nonexistent for me.

It’s because of both. The Evolve 50 and the RE3 microphone capsule I use rejects microphone feedback very well.
