I put plastic or wooden tags on a stick, because yes, anyone can forget the variety planted 😅
I just realised that I have subscribed to more than 100 UA-cam channels, and I keep clicking on yours first. You always make me smile. Thank you!!!❤😂😊
Publishing at midnight!!! This makes a bit of a pleasant surprise 🥳
An accident, I think Emma just forgot to fill in the time box when she scheduled it
Yup! 😂🤦♀️
Companion planting by Grtrude Franck is a great start, you have recipes for natural fertilizer as well, is really complex but in regards to weeds, best method, if rows are not possible, is hay on the parcel in January. Earth worms will do the job under, no need to dig anymore, only to put the seeds in and let it the spot catch sun, then cover base again with the hay. So less work, healthier soil and barely any watering
Emmarism....absolutely turning my sad life into a happy one again. I wish I had your personality and outlook on life.
Look at me walking backwards like a TV presenter 😂😂😂
You love to talk a lot about chitting....I am splitting my sides with laughter.
You bring sunshine to so many people. Your friends and family are so lucky to have you in their life's.
I treat all my potatoes equally. 🥔 potatoes 🥔
You give me a reason to be optimistic about my future and I get so excited to want to see the next episode. You get more talk time than any other show on TV in my conversations with friends and colleagues.
Thank you, Emma.
Keep whacking them in ❤
Another great diary/vlog!
When you said strawberries and onions are friends I imagined them walking down the road hand in hand 😂😊
😂😂😂😂😂
Onions or garlic are good companions for carrot as well to keep away carrot fly. I also hear that they are good around squash to keep away bugs, haven't tried this yet but plan on trying garlic/onions and radish around my squashes this year because squash and cucumber bugs are bad here in Ontario Canada where I live. I love that you experiment, I find joy in it as well.
Thank you !
I love to potatoes! Yum
Emma your bunting inspired me to make some of my own from scraps of fabric I had at home! I’m giving it to our local Community greenhouses for when they have special events. Thanks for the inspiration!
You really do brighten my days and give me motivation to do more myself xx
Em your two gardens are fabulous. You’ve put in sooo much work over winter. I always look forward to your videos cos you’re so natural & optimistic. I’m in Northumberland I defo need optimism atm cos it’s been so dismal weather. You lift all our spirits. Thanks 🤩
Thank you. Such a lovely surprise to have another video.
Haha! Little mix up with the uploading. But didn’t realise how many American viewers I have! 😂
Leave the sweet peas but plant some new one on a different part of the plot as a back
Hi Emma love your videos! Just saying when I have a lot of potatoes I make sure the potatoes are dry then I put them into a paper bag or big veg bag they will last a long time lv Irene 😘 xx
Love love love your humorous style of reporting on your gardening efforts. Einstein is super too. Thank you.
emma putting in potatoes not wacking them in love your style well done be happy doing your plots day by day
hi emma we have been enjoying your diarie vids so much my kids are actually out in the garden with me so thank you for helping and all you do on your channel happy gardening from us in new Zealand
Yes, we always have use for potatoes. Plus it's super easy to store 😊
Emma why not write in your allotment diary what plants like each other you can then look before you plant and you get it right every time you have done so well with your plot there is just one thing missing rocky is there any news? I think you will have a great season with all your vegetables and just think of all the people you have in courage to take up gardening keep the blogs coming they are great to view thank you❤
I think you planted Maris piper ones before x
Potatoes are great emma ,allways handy ,
U never go hungry if u have potatoes ,
❤
Not even 7 pm here in my part of the US. What a surprise!! Barely midnight in London from my world clock.
lol! Maybe I’ll pop a few videos up on purpose at this time for my American friends! 😂
@@emmasallotmentdiaries 😍
What a nice surprise! Another vedio yay , its 4; 38 pm here in arizona usa 😂
lol. Little mix up, but hi! X
@@emmasallotmentdiaries it's all good nice to hear from you ! Enjoy your weather, it's starting to get hot here in arizona, we are in the high 90 s 😩🤬
The weeds might be ok if they're contained, they might even be good for the wildlife. All that will eventually turn into compost anyway.
Onions with strawberries helps with pests but they also make your strawberries taste sweeter.
Oh wow! Well, the birds have since pulled a few out, so wondering if the red onion sets were a bad choice now 😂😫
@@emmasallotmentdiaries Put hoops with bird netting. That’s what I do and the birds don’t get to them.
Great vlog Emma,
Youre plots looking amazing,
Thanks for the tips on companion planting I'll try the onions in my strawberry bed too now,
Have a great week
Happy planting
I’m definitely going to add some bunting to my plot soon, it looks so cute ☺️
onions and carrots are great as well :) keeps away carrot flies
Lol you said the potatoes chit themselves, and didn’t even giggle. Then you said chits up? 😂😂😂😂 I’m dead.
Lol..my thought exactly
I think she meant you don't have to chit them ,but if you do plant with chit up
😂😂😂 I was in the filming zone 😂
@@laviniasey lol I know what she meant I’m just saying she rarely misses a joke and those were perfect ones. 😂 Chit themselves like sh!t themselves and chits up like tits up.
@@emmasallotmentdiaries haha I get that filming zone stuff. I usually find myself catching them on the edits and then I have to put some text in to make fun of myself. I once said our cannabis plant was “feminized so we topped him” and didn’t even think about the implications!! 😂😂 I love your humor and you’re becoming such a better gardener. Glad to see you gaining success. Hope to be like you when I grow up (I’m older than you haha) ♥️
Fantastisch Good work Emma's good work te potatoes thans te video Top week 🌺🤗👍✔️🍹🐝🌿🧤🥔
Emma your logic with stress & flowers may be right. I keep my chilli peppers in smaller pots & they explode with fruit I’m in uk too so conditions are never consistent Great advice 🤩
Fantastisch Good work Emmas te potatoes thans te video Top week 👍☘️🌱🌺🥔🧅🌤🍹🌿
❤❤🎉 It's going to be spectacular when it all gets growing. 🤞 Hope you all get some lasting warm weather soon! 🎉❤❤
Me too!!!!
So enjoy your video's. We have a wet day here in the Southern hemisphere, so am inside, spent yesterday bagging leaves up and puting tree mulch down.
Sounds amazing x
Love the videos ur plot is coming on so well I bought ur planner and av been working through it xx really excited to see what happens this year x
Amazing! I hope you’re enjoying it! Xx
Curiois: do you keep a journal of what you plant and when and where you p!ant it?
Desiree are great sarpo mira are also a great choice not such nice eating but the crops are impressive hope you have a successful season
Ah thank you! Xx
yay!! more spuds!!
I've got some spare potatoes. I think I'll pop them in rather than waste them too 👍
Happy 1st of may emma
Nothing to do with plants BUT your hair is looking lovely and shiny. X
I'm trying potatoes in big garden buckets this year 🌱🌱💚
Same here
I do some in grow bags every year in my home garden x
Me too ,
Laura from thr tiny garden plants all her potatoes in buckets / big pots
They've started to chit themselves 😂😂😂😂😂
You are hilarious 😅
I try to grow onions with beans, marigolds and basil with tomatoes. And I plant nettles and comfrey around my fruit trees. No idea if it helps but it fills the spaces up. Anybody know if sweet potatoes have a companion plant?
Things like sweetcorn, and beans as short root crops and maybe a quick grow crop like radishes and lettuce
loving your vids . Wack it in r kid x
Emma I don't think farmers would have enough room to lay out about 10.000 potatoes to chit.......😂😂😂😂...👍👋👋
To chit or not to chit, who gives a chit
😂😂😂
😁
"I'm not a TV presenter " No Emma, you're better than a boring old TV presenter and ten times funnier.
Did you find Einstein's nest yet, or is he a bachelor ?
❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍
Do you have adhd emma? I have often thought you have some traits, absolutely no offence meant by that, my son has been diagnosed as an adult, I love his quirkiness, he gets frustrated with his ways but I think it makes him the wonderful human he is with his quirkiness, just like yourself xxx
