    Went on keto and IF in January 2023 and stopped all alcohol. I was pre-diabetic for 20+ years, and had high blood pressure. The weight started to fall off of me. By September I had lost 60 pounds-a quarter of my body weight-went down 4 inches in the waist, and dropped two shirt sizes. My HDL and triglycerides are both 52. Total cholesterol is 266 and my doctor vapor locked about that. Wants me on Lipitor and I said no way. I’ve never felt better or slept better. Plenty of energy, greatly increased cognition. I’m 67.

    A lot of people commenting that they are both still visibly overweight. Missing the point. We’re all at various stages of the same journey. Besides that, I find it difficult to relate to skinny people who never seriously struggled with obesity giving me weight loss advice.

      I agree with your discernment of providers. Words come out but they can be as wrong as the words that have flooded our medical schools and hospitals, etc---the pyramid. These people have lost tons and did it with great labs! I guess the healthy losses and labs should cause at least a second glance.

    Statins just about killed me! My former dr played stupid as in I don’t know what’s causing muscle spasms throughout my entire body! Dr 💀. Got rid of him and now have a Dr who is amazed at my progress! He’s actually learning from me! Now my cardiologist is iffy now, stated he does keto, but a supporter of issuing statins and keeps on insisting to upgrade my my mechanical heart valve (/Aorta):told him that’s not happening anytime soon! Had it done 2012. Started carnivore August 1/22. At 285, Now I’m down 130lbs! Time to look for another cardiologist!!

    A young 61 years old here. It's taken me since labor day--a bit over 6 months, to go from 265 to 196. Still 20 pounds to lose to army retirement weight 18 years ago. I generally have cut carbs to around 100g a day, and calories to around 2,000. I also run between 5 and 10 miles 5 to 6 days a week...predominantly 6 miles at a time. And on many of those days I will double up with 20 miles on the bike trainer. And of those 180 days probably 20 or more have been over indulgant days at 3000 to 5000 cal a day. It is not hard to believe I used to EASILY eat 6,000 or more calories a day as an emotional crutch. Like when I quit alcohol at about 24 years old because I could see where it was taking me--nowhere good...I quit cold....I have done much the same with over indulgence of food. I simply got tired of swollen feet and a belly so damn big I had trouble getting my cycling shoes on! I now am no longer 61 feeling like 88!!

    I think there needs to be more emphasis on Lipid Panel Quality rather than Quantity, which as discussed here means Triglycerides and HDL at the very least; also LDL fractionation pattern (probably good if Trigs + HDL are good); Lp(a) (while mostly genetically determined, I've seen research that says it goes down with increased dietary saturated fat), etc. Like this cardiologist, my lipid quality was worse 15 years ago than now.

    I have been doing full carnivore off and on for over a year.
    I have chosen to re add, 1/3 cup of organic, glyphosate free oatmeal into my diet. I miss the texture of other foods, and also the satiety that comes from a healthy grain. Also, it helps with fullness and gut biome. I am lean and don't want to have the lean-mass hyper responder syndrome contribute to the over- trafficking of fats in my arteries.

    • @baranjan4172
      @baranjan4172 3 місяці тому

      @joen.8364 there is no such thing as a healthy grain, neither is there over trafficking fats in the arteries. Fats are transported on lipoproteins because they are not water (blood) soluble.
