      @@Venomboy666 this was a lot of fun to watch. Paul is such a pro and so comfortable. I loved his tone and choice of notes as well. Andy Timmons was just inspired. Andy Wood unfortunately seemed a bit uncomfortable with this tune for wfat ever reason. He's a fantastic player but this was uncharacteristically strange from what I've seen from him. Letterie also played some cool stuff. I'm not familiar with him but he sounded great. Thanks for posting this

    First off, I never ever in a million years thought I would say, PG actually got upstaged by the other three players. This is from someone that frickin loves PG and has followed him since Racer X. He did follow the chord changes but his playing was almost entirely pentatonic with only a few Dorian notes thrown in. The progression demanded more. Mark and the Andy’s, OTOH, went outside the box and definitely did not stay within the pentatonic. I am a huge Andy Wood fan but I must concur with what others said - Timmons totally stole the show. He had the perfect balance of feel, expression, dynamics, technique, played the chord changes but went outside of them enough to be really interesting. And yeah, his tone was awesome to boot. Even Wood was clapping after AT’s final solo, acknowledging what he pulled off.
    Having said all that, I wish Mark’s volume had been higher. I feel like I missed some really cool notes/licks because he was just too low in the mix. Also...even though I totally understand what PG was doing, I felt bad for Mark when PG cut him off during his initial solo.
    Still, great video and playing by all.

    • @rorschach4391
      @rorschach4391 3 роки тому +1

      Actually I am shocked coz this the most restrained he has played ever and I loved it. The man kept it simple coz he wanted to not because of his lack of ability.

    • @chrislestermusic
      @chrislestermusic 2 роки тому +1

      I think Mark seemed low in the mix because he was on the other side of the stage. The Andys amps were right in front of the camera person. I know what you mean though. He was hard to hear.

    Andy Timmons' tone was great. Not just the Lonestar punching through, but "in his fingers". Cliche' but so true. His patient phrasing; giving himself the room to play what he truly feels at any given time.

    I can't afford Andy's Timmons amp. My setup can mimic quite similar tone of Paul or Andy Wood cos their tone sounds quite generic ie: amp+overdrive+delay should get it quite close. But AT's tone is so unique that i have never achieve before. Not sure how much is from his amp and how much is from his pedal board. Damn!
