- Nintendo Switch fake Pro Controllers are starting to show up online specifically on China Wholsale websites. These Pro Controllers attempt to share the same likeness with the official controller by using the same shell and promising the same features. Today we'll be opening the controller up and seeing what this accessory has to offer.

I wanted to see you use it. :(
Hello
Me too /:
Ikr all he did is take it apart 😂
Yeah wtf
I still bought it
How to open a delivered product:
1.Hammer on the item
2.Realize it isn't working
3.Use a pair of scissors (LIKE A CAVEMAN)
4.Wonder why the product is malfunctioning
beat the item with a hammer, does a review about defects
Senku Go I think he reviewed it, re-packed it, and then unboxed it a second time. He knew immediately what was on the directions.
Or he bought two of them.
voidofbeeswax you think? What makes you think that?
If it wasn’t for the hammer it would probably be even more broken
A hammer is nothing, you should see how the post office moves these boxes lmao.
Neon Baebows lol true they think fragile is pronounced fra-gee-lay and means throw underhanded
A full test or it never happened
You shopped on Ali-A express?
Allah-A
I thought he was british. He was chinese this whole time.
DUN DUN-DUN-DUN DUN-DUN-DUN DUN-DUN-DUUUN~!
thebahooplamaster I guess I was lucky, I shopped there recently for a PS Vita Slim LCD replacement since it was way cheaper than eBay or Amazon and I scored! It’s been very good and responsive! 🙌🏼
I don't get it
"All this stuff is just broken, it's all falling out"
Hmm, I wonder why? 🔨🔨🔨
You know something's fake when it says made in china.
*looks at back of switch*
Oh...
Mojtaba.M
Looks at the Ps4
BOI Z *tbh
This is true. China makes companies give them the designs for anything they manufacture in China. It leads to easy knock offs, especially when they have the molds.
Christian Hernandez no, that was pretty decent usage of the phrase "to be fair"
Like it or not China is taking over manufacturing from the Worlds hands
U sure it's not terrible because you smashed it with a hammer.....? Lol
I was wondering the same. I have heard decent things about these. Not oem quality obviously but not this bad.
Same! Watched a few reviews all saying they are great for the price and nearly identical to the real thing.. Bought one yesterday from ebay for £18 so will see very soon
spOOge 182 holla with your thoughts on it
spOOge 182 Tell us what you think about it when you used it.
It was here, spooge never elaborated
It's not a proper review if you don't test it. Sure it's a ko but people still wanna see how it performs and jist taking it apart is pointless
I agree, from other reviews battery is likely 1/2 of original, lacks nfc but rest seems fine at 1/3rd of price...fine as 2nd controller imo
Why don't you test it first?
Agreed.
I find the controller worth the money. I own one myself
This is nonsense. You don't even need to press all those buttons to sync it. You can hold down home, or connect it via USB once
Indy Haverkamp well it's wireless and it has rumble and gyro, it sounds better than the wired power a controllers that are the same price, although those controllers do look better. (I have the Zelda power a)
Why bother testing a cheap knockoff controller when you already know it's going to be trash?
You beat it to death and then complain it doesn't feel or work right? wtf
The title says it's terrible but u didn't try it with the switch. It might actually be pretty good for $25 if u don't mind the way the buttons feels
Thats cause he legit destroyed it with a hammer
I just got one, controls are responsive and while the buttons feel odd (not bad btw) I actually like it. My only gripe is the rumble which is way too strong for my preference.
You also don't need to hold a bunch of buttons to get it to sync. I just plugged it in and it synced.
"It might be good if you don't pay attention to how shitty it is"
That's all I get from your comment
@@shabberplasm32 But with cheaper price it is worth it, some of the oem is very similar to switch pro controller, it just dont have wake up and amiibo function which most people dont even bother with it.
Should had tested it first before tearing it apart.
I wonder if Y might have sustained some blunt impact... for some unavoidable reason...
Sure it's a fake but it's a legit fake
Genuine imitation
A for effort F for execution.
Could the same thing be said about a Federal Reserve Note? Haha
It's not fake....just made with lower quality parts, people assembled this thing, stop trying to mock it.
Steve Mahabir It's just a Joke Bro
"The y button is sunken down"
*hits box repeatedly with hammer*
Well i cant figure out why that would happen
A bit pointless without using it
then why are you on his vids ......
Timothy Hobba exactly
That controller is as fake as IGN's reviews
hydra Or a three headed lizard
So clever
Joke is already old
Edit: typo
That was just ONE guy who fucked up not the entire IGN crew
Virtual Fighter how kind
Smashing it with a hammer and complaining it doesn't work is like a kid throwing their phone on the ground in frustration because their phone doesn't work
Says It suckz *breaks It open with a hammer*
Also i already bought it before watching this for a month and its in perfect condition
Well do you have a twitter
I can tweet a picture at u
@@cashacaambaro1789 hey i am thinking of buying this controller, is it still working? Do you recommend it?
Do you know if it works on PC or Raspberry pi with Bluetooth connection? I wanto to use it in Rasp
Gamers RISE UP
Nothing beats the time spawn threw that hammer onto a table and it bounced and actually put a hole in his wall 😂😂 lol
sethcampbell96 when was this? Must see...
Yeah, I need to know as well.
Christopher Jr. Riley / maybe Fake SD Card review?
He threw hammer at sd card in a plastic bag, and it bounced off...
2:00
Clear the building, he’s finally gone mad!
fuck, you beat me to it
"Scissors like a cave man" as opposed to a hammer like a .......... LOL
Chris Lloyd yep that's the joke thanks for explaining
Hammer like a MAN!!!
Wtf didn't even try it
"Y is very sunken down" 4:03 (I blame the hammer) 2:00
"Everything is just falling out" (proceeds to PULL buttons out) 8:09
Buttons actually fall out (no mention) 8:39
I don't know how serious this review was, but qualms aside, I'd get one of these as a spare for the price. I feel everyone who has a switch should have at least ONE genuine Pro controller, though.
@Delike el Ducce :
I really don't understand why it's $70 NEW. For awhile I thought the "HD" RUMBLE and the NFC tech was proprietary. Their RUMBLE could be, but now 3rd party controllers are starting to implement NFC functionality.
For people who AREN'T purists that HAVE to have a boxed Pro controller that they can nail to their living room wall, the best bet is to cruise eBay and find an official Pro Controller loose for around $40-$45. If you're REALLY lucky you may find a Rev. 3 of this clone controller! Seen a UA-cam video where someone unboxed one and Rev. 3 has NFC support AND can wake the system.
They work fine. He never even tested it. I bought four on Amazon and they're still working perfectly fine.
How do u connectet it?
@@dennisschuller3057 by plugging it into the Switch
@@dennisschuller3057 theres a button on the back or just plug it in and it will pair
"The Y button is sunken down" YES BECAUSE U BEAT IT WITH A HAMMER... I expected to see a review on the bootleg controller but all he did was insulting it.
I bought this controller and now the b button stops working
I bought one for 14$ and i'm not disappointed for the price .. it gets the job done. The only cons i have for it is the triggers and bumpers do feel weird, there's a small input lag compared to the original pro controller ( but its almost not noticeable while playing) and the letters on the buttons aren't centered. Thats all, okay controller overall but great considering the prince.
who cares about the board. if it works and has a decent feel/feedback for quarter the price of the original thats why you buy it. no useful info whatsoever in this video. the idea is that the shape is the same to the original so ergonomics should be similar. and ofc things inside feeland are cheaper - the whole thing is cheaper and a knockoff duh.
I bought it and I can assure you it works great. I paid 16 bucks instead of 60 and was well aware of it's missing features. The buttons are fine as well. The only thing: You don't pair it with Home+Y. You pair it by pressing and holding the little button on the back. That's it. Other controller reviews tell you more about what you actually get.

Manti Guard there is no y in Alibaba....
Hey we provide the best prices for our US market. high quality, for the cheapest possible price, holla.
We hire the best 3rd party Chinese team in all earth, they work endlessly to provide you lot with the absolute best knockoff items.
AliExpress and Wish are my best friends.
Next time test It a couple of minutes at least 😐
It's also a dead giveaway when you don't see the Switch logo where it should be.
**beats with hammer**
**complains about product**
Maybe it's terrible because you hit it with a hammer?
I just got my fake controller in the mail. It’s GREAT! Works very well. Good responsiveness and great build quality. Much better than the crap knock off PS2 or Gamecube pads. It’s just a bit lighter than the original, but feels high quality, not cheap at all. The handgrips are very close to the real one. Button presses have the same depressing action of the original. The analog stick sensitivity is very good. I’ll have to get a first person shooter (Doom) to really test the dead zones out, but it’s working great on Zelda when shooting the bow. I paid $20 for mine with shipping. Less than a third the price of the OEM ONE. It’s well worth it. Get one and don’t listen to Spawn Wave. This was a poor review and he didn’t even test the product.
Thanks for the review that this video should have been
We need a full battery test. Spawn wave 20 hour Switchathon. Let’s do it.
Not happening lmfaoooooo
0:50 "How much did I spend on this?" looks at nobody and answers question immediately
Do you know that you can buy a human clone from aliexpress?
Is this a paid promotion by Nintendo? you didn't even test the thing.
I'd like to inform the comments, this product does not cost much to buy, however when testing it myself with games, it is a quality product. Spawn Wave does a bad job in this video due to the fact he is comparing this product with another that is retailing for $50-60/£40-50, whereas the product above costs around $20-24/£17-19, its going to be using components that are cheaper to manufacture or get hold of, but no means are of bad quality, just maybe not up to par with Nintendos own version. I personally love this product and use it as my primary controller for Switch, and are considering to buy multiple family parties and such (as you can buy three of these, for the price of a regular new official controller), as a user, it is far from terrible and is quite sturdy and reliable when used. For crying out loud it comes with Rumble, motion controls whereas no other third party ones do, not even the officially licenced third party controllers do this. To correct SpawnWave, all you have to do to sync it for the FIRST time is connect it to the dock via the USB port and hold the home button and Y (I emphasise for the FIRST time pairing), after that it performs just like a regular pro controller and joycon whereas if you press the home button at any time, it will automatically connect and you can play away.
No offense to SpawnWave, I thoroughly enjoy your videos. But this contained a variety of misinformation and not telling of the advantages of this cheaper iteration. In future, please test your product i.e. with the Switch or PC before opening the thing up and assuming its bad due to it not complying with the standards or components used by the original creator. 'cause for what it costs and what it is trying to do, it does it very good. And members of the public or your fans might be interested in a cheaper option for a controller i.e. for themselves or another member of their family/friends. :)
Nerds using the word terrible to describe things that aren't? Gee, that's never happened before. lol
"They don't feel right" yeah how could they feel right when you smashed it with a hammer
*stands up to defend the controller* * notices that it isn't the SWH one* *sits down*
Just got a order in from Ali .. know they have Nintendo branding all over them
Yeah... I bought one on Amazon. Came in about a day and it works fine and I play smash competitively and its still lasted me quite some time which I used before SSBUs release and its still in decent condition except the left stick is very flexible (kinda ideal cause most games consist of more movements from that stick) but other than that. It works like a normal controller. And mine actually had the HD rumble setup within rather than the previous models which kinda scared me but after I opened it up. It was definitely not the same cheaper cables that was in this video. Which I though was worth the $30 I paid for. As for the buttons... felt normal and stiff like new controllers normally should feel like.
Just my experience & opinion but it was risky to buy honestly and it worked out for me in the end so don't completely take my word for it.
exactly, mine came in the mail today. I'm currently playing smash and it works perfectly. I'm not spending $80.00 on a controller.
@@K_Smith213 lmao it actually broke after a good 3 months tbh felt more deteriated the more I used it. So I ended up buying an actual pro controller anyways and I need another one now... Cause when I tried opening the legit pro controller the drift issue is out of my *control* haha. Getting one off Amazon is actually $10 less than retail price so I ended up again doing that and am going to once again lol and wait till May cause covid delay. This time take my word for it 😂
@@glxylunk Had mine for almost a year now and it's not broken or whatsoever. Played almost everyday with it.
@@AkatsukiLink is it still working as of now?
@@rjdeleon6630 Not really, anymore, sadly
I just got one and I absolutely love the build quality of the pro controller
Lol love the use of the 🔨
The Y button got mushed down due to the 🔨
Oh boy, a review of a Chinese knock-off controller. Let's see a demonstration of it synced on the Switch---
Or, just destroy it with a hammer and tear it down. Why not?
before tearing apart use it first mate...
"Guess I'll use scissors like a caveman"
Amazing
Sorry, what did I miss here...
If the membrane is aligned properly so the buttons feel good.... the sticks feel good.... and overall the build quality is good.... and the only issue is the vibrate isnt HD rumble (honestly I dont know what Im supposed to be feeling with HD rumble, its so faint I barely feel it anyways) and NFC.... dude, $25 is a pretty decent price.
If you broke your real Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, what parts from this would be good to use as replacement parts on the original, if any?
Did you ever try interchanging parts from this? I was thinking of making a a custom “pro” controller just don’t feel like paying full price for a pro controller
got one of these for xmas, my father was tricked by a store online called like nintendoo-shop.com or something. They charged him $70 for a smash bros edition one. Got one of these. Thankfully he got a refund.
Thank god. I would be f***ed up by just reading about that
There’s bunch of these type of Nintendo pro controller on wish but there poorly made and plastic fells
Forza To be fair, wish is full of scam! :D

I tell you, NEVER buy a fake product from an unofficial or cheap store. Ever.
He didn't even test it. Just tried to be funny and opened the controller. In Brazil, I have controllers that I bought for the equivalent of 10 US$ that works to this day without problems. He should have tested, because sometimes we find some gems on these stores.
they sell these on amazon and with prime shipping, you can also get them on ebay however ebay sellers can be hit or miss at times
well in this rare case I much rather spend £20 on a product that might break in 4 months than £80 on a product that will break in 4 months
I would make a pun for this but I don't think you would be pro-pared for it
...
I love me a good pun

I bought one of these and I really like it. My one piece of advice for anyone buying this: Don’t beat it with a hammer. Controllers don’t like that.
This video is a lie.
I’ve just bought this controller for 19 quid and it’s impressive. It weights 27grams less than the original, and it can’t turn the console on, but that’s it. The sticks are the EXACT SAME as the original, the abyx buttons are also the same, the +- are different AND the D-pad is arguable BETTER.
Why did this guy lied like this in the video, I don’t know, but it’s terrible consumer advice. Buy them, you won’t regret it. Hell, buy a couple of them.
yeah probably gonna buy the Splatoon and Smash Bros one
Is there any way to fix the shoulder pads? I have a gamepad and the RB is pretty sunken compared to LB. There's almost no difference between clicking it and not clicking it.
I bought one of this, and it feels right... but the L button does not work... Who else has the same problem with this pro controller version?
I have one of these fakes but used it to repair my broken 1st party one. My 1st party one got crushed when moving accidentally. I replaced all the buttons, membrane, and motors with the oem ones. worked out well with very little modification.
I'd recommend only for those in my position.
I have the Amazon one. My biggest gripe is the D-pad. If anyone has an idea to fix/replace with a better one or way to make it respond I would love to hear.
I do not know unfortunately
Well, I'd be pretty mad if I bought something that I thought was an official Nintendo product to find out it's a fake too.
*Looking at you, fake Pokemon carts.*
But how does it play in games?
Yeah, he should test it there first before he takes it apart.
Blue
*starts smashing the controller with a hammer*
*grabs scissors*
“...guess I’ll use scissors like a caveman...”
i think its more fair to ask: how does it compare to the A-power and PDP third party controllers? if i was shopping for this, thats what i'd be comparing it to.
It’s great. I have one that has no led home button, and one that even has the rougher buttons and triggers of the official pro controller! I got mine in Splatoon and SSB colors, so probably go for those. The dpad is the same as the pre-xenoblade one. I compared them to a friend’s pro controller and it was exactly the same. Honestly, I can recommend it.
It is called High Definition Rumble because it is precisely controlling its vibration, it can define how large or acute the vibrations need to be, and where the vibrations need to be. HD Rumble is the correct term to call it and the old way will be SD Rumble until HD Rumble becomes the new standard.
At least you got some spare joysticks out of this.
I hate that there are PS3 controllers on eBay that say they are brand new but they are fake. They look exactly like a real packaging and controller it's when you get the controller and click the sticks that you notice it's fake it sucks. I got a used powera third party controller instead which didn't come with the USB dongle so I have to get another one.
My brother got tricked he actually bought this controller thinking it was the official One
You can find this on an oddly specific topic called ‘Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.’ OK then.
Cheap knockoff China screws, pointy on the bottom and round on the top!
Me: lmao wut
I nearly picked up one like this. Glad I just decided not to
Vsauce Puppet I mean you haven’t even seen how well it works on the switch itself lol all you saw was him taking it apart
ur everywhere
I got one and it works great, the seller i got it from makes sure there is no issues with it before they ship it to you, all the buttons feel good, it really just depends from what seller you get it from.
exactly. they are almost half price the original ones. depending on the place it is manufactured in china, you can get a pretty good one as i bought a fake one and it works very good. i dont mind the hd rumble stuff but some says it is pretty shallow compared to the original ones. and yeah, the buttons are pretty prominent as in bulging out compared to the original ones but they work fine, no lag issues. hey, i can use my amiibo, bluetooth and a good grip. i think i got a good price for what i paid for.
This is a terrible review. You should buy it. I got mine one week ago and it works pretty fine. It feels almost like the original one.
I'm sorry for the youtube channels I watch. I've been skipping ads like a madman since youtube started putting 3 sets of minute-long ad breaks on 10 minute videos.
Jon doesn’t have an amiibo because he took a hammer to it already...
I won't be surprised to see bootleg Amiibos with the ability to write to blank nfc with some phones.
Thanks for ruining everything for me 🥺
2 years late
he smashed the controller, thats the main reason there were issues with his controller.
Is fascinating watching him evolve from this iteration of content where he was founding his footing but we definitely have a better version of him now a days
Is there a way to mod this controller so that the buttons aren't that clunky and they don't fall appart when you unscrew it?
Yes, it's a simple mod, you just *dont hammer it.*
Thanks for this extended video, did not know about the motors good to know, I've made video about the controller and going to drop link in the comment section people need to know this. Thanks !
A friend of mine bough a 200gb SD from there for very cheap. He obviously got scammed but he doesn't want to believe so. Aliexpress is a very shitty place that should always be avoided.
Bojan Babic I swear i get ads about them evertyimes
Oh for fuck sake, I actually bought this specific controller and surprise surprise....the left joy stick has broken today
I bought the other controller you showed and it was very easy to pair. No odd button combos just went to controllers and hold home and it paired
My friend bought this and I always get depressed when I’m in his house
Never cut towards yourself spawn wave, not with a knife or any other sharp object as it is extremely dumb and dangerous if you slip.
Mine did work for the most part (no hd rumble, no turn-on-when-holding-home, no nfc), but the rest is working.
Mine had both analog sticks broken, which I replaced myself. they use analog sticks that can be found on ebay for about 5$ for both together (literally the same analog sticks as xbox/ps controllers. it's a universal part).
The buttons feel normal, nothing crazy about it. exceptions being l3 and r3 that are a bit worse, but totally usable.
Faker than highschool relationships
You sure buttons are mushy because of how you smashed the box with a hammer
32 dislikes are from the Chinese manufacturers lol
Let's be honest, he smashed it before even trying it before complaining
Thought the battery was going to explode when you bounced it off the table :-p Cool video, Spawn! Love the tear-downs.
The button syncing stuff doesn't need to be done at all... you just hold the home button... and it syncs... this controller isn't actually anywhere near as bad as it's being made out to be by people.
Actually using it, it's fine and usable. Mine cost £18. A pro controller costs £55. There's really nothing that is majorly wrong with it, sure NFC is missing. But battery life IS 20 hours + in my experience 👍
Akuza Gaming you serious? Anyother issues?
Akuza Gaming Why would you buy one of these when a pro controller is 55£?
Here where i live the official pro controller is 75 euros.
Axel my view is, now I have it and I'm using it, I've saved £37. That can go towards a new switch game or something else. At the end of the day the pro controller is only going to be the same, just with NFC and better made internals.
Yes this will break eventually...but it's £18. I can buy another if it breaks.
Akuza Gaming you may have too buy 3 or 4 of these depending on how lucky you are in the hardware lottery
Axel £ is worth more than €. 55£ is like 62€ so the difference is not that big.
You can not expect a decent in quality product for a cheap price. This is kind of a click bait video. I've followed you for a long time and, this video is dissaponting.
You smashed the controller with a hammer, complained about physical defects, opened it up and judged it without ever actually USING THE CONTROLLER?
More often than not, these things are made by the various factories who supply the big brands, who do runs for Chinese companies using the very same moulds and processes. This is really what happens when you outsource your production to a country that is less than scrupulous and it does highlight too the terrible markup the big brands are putting on stuff made double dirt cheap in some Chinese factory. Take a look at Dr Martens boots, when they shifted production to China, suddenly like magic almost perfect copies of Dr Martens boots appeared but at half the Dr Martens price, the soles, the upper, everything is identical because they are made on the same line as the branded stuff with the only difference being a non branded boot loop and the lack of the logo on the sole.
Have you ever met a middle-eastern man named Al-Eye? I'm sure you've met many named Al-Ee
Is it fare to review it after you beat the box it came in?
Do the 3rd party shells fit on these knockoff controllers?
To be fair, I got one one of those with my Switch last year, since real ones were out of stock. It did it's job and while the original Joycons started drifting the knock off pro still works fine. Still using it for multiplayer. 25$ vs 99$ (at least here in Singapore), yeah, worth it.
