The Pokemon leaks were AWESOME! We get to learn more about how many of the older Pokemon games were made as well as stuff regarding the "lore" of the Pokemon universe and unused Pokemon designs/concepts (which was also HEART-BREAKING as many of those unused stuff were actually quite cool and would've made those older games BETTER had they been included in them).

What Valve is telling us in legal terms is: "you really do own nothing. Be happy about it". I always wait until they're at their dirtiest, cheapest price possible, especially if they're games that are choke full of DLC, season passes and any kind of microtransactions.
As a Pokemon fan it is so disappointing to see that Game Freak will make the same mistake they did with gen 9 (Scarlet and Violet). Those games were unfinished and in a horrible state. That fact that they are developing 3 games at the same time and they cant even make a good main line game is ridiculous. I know that The Pokemon Company is probably pressuring them to get the mainline games to come out in time for the anime but damn can they at least fully out source? I'm glad I stopped playing the Pokemon games after Black and White. Weirdos just infiltrated the aesthetic more and more, now it's a shell of its former self
Japan doesn't even use ounces as a unit of measurement, it's highly unlikely that "Ounce" is the codename. Very likely it could just be the letters O-Z, like NX was the codename for Switch. Or another commenter suggested it could be Oz, like Wizard of Oz.
I get both Pokémon games and give the other one to my brother. We grew up sharing Pokémon games, so it's nice being able to own one, each, for ourselves.
Since Nintendo is a Japanese company and Japan uses the metric system (Grams not Ounces) is it more likely the Switch 2 Codename is OZ as in, the wonderful wizard of, or the land of?
The sad thing in my eyes regarding the poke leaks is the employees information. The pokemon IP is so successful that it doesn't really matter if plans get leaked or not, it's still gonna sell well. I mean look at the sorry state of scarlet and violet, garbage that still made lots of money. The IP is too big to fail. But the employees do not deserve to have their info leaked.
I doubt that Nintendo should offer a GameCube NOS app, just offer the ISO as it is with all the dummy sectors. A GameCube disc is about 1.5GB, but the games weren't all that big. If you remove the dummy sectors, the actual data part was another 200MB in size. Many games that only came on one disc were around 600-700MB, only a few single disc games really made the most of the disc
John leaving out the parts about Gamefreak employees fan fiction involving "relations"between a octopus Pokémon and man, and another Pokémon making a 15 year old girl have a baby. Gamefreak living up to it's name.
It's not "ounce", it's OZ. Only in the US does _oz_ mean "ounce". Japan uses the metric system so they don't even have a unit of measurement called "ounce" so it makes no sense that Nintendo would take that into account when designating codenames.
People thinking this leak is any good don’t know how much it will ruin much more in the future once Nintendo goes ballistic sending Cease and Desists everywhere.
TBH mainline Pokémon becoming an MMO with a single player mode and story would be my dream. I think it would solve a lot of issues by them having one game that they update every couple of years with each gen instead of having to essentially restart from the ground up with a new game.
The licensing thing they did it to me with my Deus Ex Mankind Divided and I had to buy the physical copy! The question is should we not get our money back? Same with the PS movies, they cancelled the movie app so now the only console I can play them (a vast movie collection) is on my PS4

Rare Steam L. Steam is going to need to find a way to compete with GOG then because if GOG can give us games without DRM and the installers themselves. Then Steam can do it too.
My guess is that it isn't "ounce", rather they are using the English alphabet for versioning. So we had NX then they continued with OY, but for some reason they made some larger change so the version changed to OZ, the same thing like going from 1.0 to 1.1. But I understand being American, and not using the metric system, gives them that association to "ounce".

I feel like just having a physical copy isn’t easy nowadays. We see so many title get published by company’s like limited run that only sell games for a certain amount of time and after that they are gone. Like if I wanted to get Alien isolation physical for switch but I find out it was published by limited run a while ago, well there goes my chance of having that game on my shelf. Plus limited run products can be overpriced especially in countries that are not in America. It can be like for where I live that a game is $70 plus $20 shipping for a game that might be a older title just getting a physical rerelease. A lot of people don’t have that money
once the second TR collection hits STEAM we will have every TR game in the palm of our hands in native form and with no emulation...what a time to be alive!!!
only that it is a little different with PCs than with consoles. A PC is an open system and you have access to all the data on it, unlike with a console (unless you hack it). So if a license is taken away, in theory you still have the data on the disk. Now there are also cracks for Steam versions of various games.
Buy your games physically everyone if you are on console! Even if you didn’t grow up doing it this way. Wait the one extra day to go pick it up, or those couple extra days if say Amazon has your order arriving late. You know you’ll have a backlog to revert to anyways while you wait the extra time. This can also help you harden yourself against the negative feeling of FOMO. There are drawbacks but there are benefits as well. Gaming will be better and healthier, and more fun! Let’s make gaming great again

About buying the 2 version of Pokemon, it's almost the exact same game. If they made something like buy 1 and the 2nd is 70%off I'd buy both. Paying full price for each is nonsense. It's pure greed, there's no reason for that nowadays.
Nintendo got hacked? Oh no. Anyway... Back when I got Pokémon games I usually get only one version because I'm not playing both games with minor changes. I don't have time to capture every Pokémon.
This new requirement will probably get more people interested in digital ownership rights and want to push for laws. Way too many people think they own their media when they don’t.
I really hope the leakers ain’t releasing employee’s personal info. Just like with the Insomniac leak, I feel like that’s a line they shouldn’t cross. At that point you’re putting people’s lives in danger and cause some major headaches for them. Whoever leaked it better go into hiding. I’m sure the Nintendo ninjas are hard at work trying to track them down.
I wonder how physical Steam games are handled then. Do I also not own them just like the digital Steam games? By the way I'm talking about some of the last batches of physical PC games which install the game from disc, but require a mandatory Steam log in. I bought games like Alien Isolation, RE7 and Deus Ex Mankind Divided that basically bind the disc to your Steam account.
I can't believe they realised people liked the more challenging Battle Frontier in Emerald and then cut it out for gen 4 anyway. I know they once said people thought it was too hard but come on, not everyone likes going up against try hards in VGC.
The Angel of Darkness, the game which demolished Tomb Raider as a franchise due to being unfinished at launch. Wonder if the remaster is gonna complete it beyond just graphics.
If we go to all digital, which I can see happening, I’d like to see them create actual servers that replace the need for a console. I’d be more than happy to pay 20-30 a month for a Nintendo/XBox/PC/PS streaming online service, that allows you to play the games without a console. I know consoles make some money, but isn’t also true that usually XBox and Sony, underprice the consoles in order to get them out initially until sales pick up and software sales take over? How amazing would it be to grab any controller, branded or otherwise, a keyboard and mouse, and just play any game that exists? That’s the future of gaming I’d like to see. You carry your account info with you for ever. Idk how they would do this, but it seems to me with cloud gaming and streaming services already in place, it has to be possible in the near future to have high quality games without a console. Just a phone or tv and a controller.

Unlike Steam, GOG actually DOES allow you to get the offline launchers for every game you buy from them. Making them the only place you OWN what you buy. GOG doesn't just have older games; they are starting to get newer titles. It's the only place where you can get Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition, and it's not the remaster.
No kidding, I was waiting all weekend to see your reaction on this. The leaks almost felt like a mid-2000's fanfic. Surreal times we are living in.
I just bought Deadpool and Wolverine on UA-cam movies, UHD version. I hit play, and it’s 480p. NOTHING can change it, and now I’m out $42.
Time for Arrrrr rated edition
The Pokemon leaks were AWESOME! We get to learn more about how many of the older Pokemon games were made as well as stuff regarding the "lore" of the Pokemon universe and unused Pokemon designs/concepts (which was also HEART-BREAKING as many of those unused stuff were actually quite cool and would've made those older games BETTER had they been included in them).
I've always said that the prices for digital games should not be the same as the physical version, you're paying the same and getting a lot less, but people just can't use their brains to do math... unfortunately for pc gamers we don't have the option to pay for a physical game anymore, but if you're getting a sony/microsoft or nintendo always, always go for the physical...
It will become a bigger issue for them removing games when we are all digital. Then boom physical makes a come back.
We're talking bout the biggest franchise and IP on earth. Of course the ones who did it gonna pay heavy sh*t
I completely understand why you didn't talk about scrapped Typhlosion lore from the Game Freak leak
What Valve is telling us in legal terms is: "you really do own nothing. Be happy about it". Even though I like Steam, that doesn't mean I'm willing to let myself get screwed by their changes in any terms of services. I never buy games from them at full price. I always wait until they're at their dirtiest, cheapest price possible, especially if they're games that are choke full of DLC, season passes and any kind of microtransactions.
Switch to GOG
GOG is king.
Happy Cybersecurity awareness month everybody!
Last game im getting is the Gen 5 remake and im out.
Definitely going to find a work around for the games I've bought on steam, cause I ain't giving up my games
The only thing i hope it leaked is the way to replicate authentic events on gba games to get the original pokemon on gba, like mew, deoxy and jirachi
I really do wish TPC would go the Legends route with the main series with only one version.
Oh yea, I saw that Typhlosion was trending.
I'm glad I stopped playing the Pokemon games after Black and White. Weirdos just infiltrated the aesthetic more and more, now it's a shell of its former self
A lot of gamefreak employees just gotten doxed with the massive leak
Japan doesn't even use ounces as a unit of measurement, it's highly unlikely that "Ounce" is the codename. Very likely it could just be the letters O-Z, like NX was the codename for Switch. Or another commenter suggested it could be Oz, like Wizard of Oz.
But as long as you can play games offline, won't you technically own them, as they cant be removed then?
I get both Pokémon games and give the other one to my brother. We grew up sharing Pokémon games, so it's nice being able to own one, each, for ourselves.
Since Nintendo is a Japanese company and Japan uses the metric system (Grams not Ounces) is it more likely the Switch 2 Codename is OZ as in, the wonderful wizard of, or the land of?
Can’t wait for the DYKG Videos
Physical is better you own the disk
Remember that Silksong game? Wouldn’t it be absolutely crazy if they appeared in the XBox showcase after all this time?
Physical game supremacy. The only digital games I buy are games that require only connection like FF14 obviously.
steam pulling the ubisoft move? You should get used to not owning our games. Ohh Gaben you gotta walk this back man.
The amount of pearl-clutching regarding the Pokemon folklore/fairytales is mind-numbing.
TR Vol 1 remasters were wonderful. Came with DLCs too. Getting Vol. 2 is great.
Ounce kind of makes sense if you think of it as a hybrid system. Ounce being handheld mode (not as powerful), cup being docked mode.
I was wondering why he called it Ounce. I was thinking of the Wizard of Oz.
I don't think so. If you look for screenshots of codes you see it written as "Ounce", like "/ssl_TrustedCerts.Ounce.bdf" posted on Resetera.

People thinking this leak is any good don’t know how much it will ruin much more in the future once Nintendo goes ballistic sending Cease and Desists everywhere.
Still in love with the PS3 Background Theme
Games keep leaking early and yall wonder why Nintendo keeps cracking down on emulation. Maybe stop leaking games before their release date? 🤷
It's too easy to break street date at retailers. People use hacked Switches for this to work, they're really barking up the wrong tree.
These people don't care about the preservation of games. They are just mass leaking information and content
Nah, Nintendo need these slaps.
@@extraful1 Great so now you’re making a case to not have physical games. Stop giving Nintendo ideas
@@penrar I’d rather we have emulation for preservation than whatever slap Nintendo deserves
TBH mainline Pokémon becoming an MMO with a single player mode and story would be my dream. I think it would solve a lot of issues by them having one game that they update every couple of years with each gen instead of having to essentially restart from the ground up with a new game.
Them Pokemon leaks be "evolving" uh?..
The licensing thing they did it to me with my Deus Ex Mankind Divided and I had to buy the physical copy! The question is should we not get our money back? Same with the PS movies, they cancelled the movie app so now the only console I can play them (a vast movie collection) is on my PS4
Apparently Mario and Luigi: Brothership has also leaked online. That’s a whole month earlier if this is true
Nintendo should move to all-digital to prevent leaks
Piracy problem...yup the pirates pushing the gaming industry in all Only digital games... It's not Nintendo's fault, pirates pushing Nintendo to kill physical.
10:44 there is no way Legends ZA is releasing in the first half of next year. The next 8 months? Not a chance. The leaks suggest most of the main story is done, but it’s still missing about half of the side content and translations
Well, its not like releasing barely working unfinished games is untreaded territory for gf lol
It depends when the build was from. If the version is from a year ago or so then it's possible that the game is much closer to releasing than we realize. If it's from the last month or two, then you're right.
9:25 Oz is pronounced like The Wizard of Oz.
We all know that spawnwave has a history of frequently mispronouncing words! Lol but this one takes the cake!😂
@@ScottPilgrim1919 he probably didn't make the connection because of his age. But I'm surprise he didn't make the connection because he has kids. But kids today are fed with that rainbow stuff.
@@0x8badbeef I don't think people his age would not know about the Wizard of Oz.
@@zachtwilightwindwaker596 I suppose. He looks so much younger without his glasses. At least the comment section has stopped badgering him about it.
@@0x8badbeef”kids today are fed with that rainbow stuff”……you mean like Somewhere Over the Rainbow, the super famous song that came out of the movie The Wizard of Oz? That rainbow? Or the one that made Dorothy and Judy Garland the first modern gay icons? It would be less hilarious if you freak muppets weren’t so media illiterate.
Its mean-tendo now, they struck down their enemy without hesitate
Rare Steam L. Steam is going to need to find a way to compete with GOG then because if GOG can give us games without DRM and the installers themselves. Then Steam can do it too.
Most of the time, this happens because someone's password was _"Password"_
My guess is that it isn't "ounce", rather they are using the English alphabet for versioning. So we had NX then they continued with OY, but for some reason they made some larger change so the version changed to OZ, the same thing like going from 1.0 to 1.1. But I understand being American, and not using the metric system, gives them that association to "ounce".
Personally, the most interesting thing in the leak is information about the past titles and scrapped beta content. For future games, I prefer either no leaks or just theorizing on things like the chinese riddler's vague puzzles.
Angel of Darkness is difficult. You die all the time.
We're all speculating about what the new NSO application could be, with many hoping for a GameCube app like previous ones. However, I'm fairly certain that Nintendo will introduce a Nintendo Sleep app for the Switch to complement the new Alarmo clock.
If you don't own it
You can't steal it
Sail those seas
With GOG you do
I was cackling yesterday with twitters reaction to the pokemon folklore.
Nintendo: "Shutting down emulators and fan projects will certainly stop the leaks!"
Hackers: "If you say so"
wasn't a hacker bro lol
@@anon1692 From the press release at 5:25, "...a third party gained unauthorized access to a server". That's what we in the industry call it when someone has been hacked.
I must say I love how every other video is a massive Nintendo leak right now. 😂
They need to unveil the xbox handheld at a partner showcase with all the jrpgs natively running on it. Instant sales in the japan market.
The timestamp is deceiving: “Developer_Direct” is (mostly) first party
“Partner Showcase” is almost entirely 3rd Party
I wonder if Konami’s ready to confirm a March-to-May release date for MGS Delta.
4:45 that phrase ‘somehow got access’ just kills me 😂😂😂😂
About buying the 2 version of Pokemon, it's almost the exact same game.
