- In this episode of In Focus we delve into the dangers of falling for the beauty standards set by the society. There are so many myths associated with beauty and for people in the beauty business this can mean navigating through multiple different aspects as well. In this episode we have Jovita George who is a beauty vlogger for several years now and has her own channel on UA-cam. She is very popular for her honest take on brands and her unique style of presentation.
On the panel we have Maria Dominic who is a social media influencer. She also has a candid take on things and is never someone to mince words. She talks about how her self-confidence was affected as a result of weight gain and how she has gained her confidence slowly over a period of time.
Then we have Dr Annu Jayan MD, Skinessence. She shares her experience of having to handle clients and patients with unreasonable beauty goals. She talks about the unfair practices that happen in society and how even children fall prey to it.
In this free-flowing conversation there are several insights, takeaways for all. We cover subjects like body positivity, body shaming, prejudices against skin color, challenges for people in the beauty business etc.

I am single mother working hard 6 days a weeks, no privileges. No backups from rich parents. Someone seems entitled here.I mean divorce is not bad it's my choice but i never use divorce for influence, business or whatever. Move on and be independent.

All this is for our outward beauty and looks. What if you taint your soul? Which is the most important. If you can take care of your soul, you will naturally turn beautiful and content in life. We need to educate ourselves to not just maintain but grow our souls.

I just don’t understand why this actress! I don’t know why but I have a feeling Maria herself has a body shaming mentality. “When she asked the doctor does using glutothione has some problem” (we all know what the doctor intended to say)
And when she said “What should we do if some people are extremely thin and short” why aren’t they normal! 🙁 (though I would want to hear why she said that)

I have a question mam... after divorce, why all these blame criticisms and negetive comments enverything happening mainly for women? Men are not at all suffering from the society like women... and men are not at all need to answer about their break up or divorce to others and they are not all being questioned.... and also they are not even opening up about such a topic in a social platform... and most of them are being silent about it..... and society is not demanding an answer from them... it is always women who are responsible for facing such questions and blames..... and forced to answer why this is happend to her?? And finally all judges her like she is the reason for... or responsible for that problem..... we can see this intention in our society in majority of the cases... why is it so mam?
