I think Blog cough large city cough and a few others caused this issue back in 2011-13, when you couldn’t even get into Little Tub Harbour because all of the GTA was there.
The water is ALWAYS cold in Georgian Bay! Even in July when it is sweltering hot, that water is COLD! LOL. Great for a quick dip. Thanks for watching!! Cheers! 🥂
Had family that lived up there many years. Beautiful space water is crystal clear wherever you go. I learned the hard way the water is often bitter cold dispite its tropical look lol. Spots like "singing sands" the water is shallow and quite warm
@@tested123 That would happen now and then. some years there would be lots of beach / sandbars, and other years it would be like that. It will always be one of my fav places
Lol for people who complain that it might be cold at the Grotto aka Georgian Bay which is the east side of Tobermory… just go to the west side of Tobermory aka Lake huron at Singing sands beach or any beach along the west side of Tobermory on Lake Huron will be much much warmer then the Grotto which is the east side of Tobermory. Plus the waters on the west side of Tobermory aka Lake Huron are more shallow !
Whaaaaaaaaa??!!! That is crazy!! You should have honked and said "hi!" We were super excited to be reunited with some friends at the ferry terminal, who we are travelling around NFLD with! LOL Maybe we will see you again on the island!!
Thank you so much Michael!! Thanks for watching! A big "Hi!" to the whole family!! We will definitely drop by when we are back in town!! Cheers until then! 🥂
That is so sad to hear. Maybe try camping/glamping?! The parks are very affordable and also have shelters (like yurts etc) for people who don't have camping gear, but want the experience. Camping accommodations are generally much more reasonable and a very cool experience.
We will be visiting from UK in two weeks this video is going to be a great help. Will it still be busy in mid September? Any tips on weather would be great.
So exciting! September should be much less busy than the summer. Likely similar to the amount of tourists when we visited (in the video). September in Ontario can be anything from chilly to summery warm. Bring layers. Expect mostly sunny, temps in the mid teens to low twenties with cooler evenings and nights. Enjoy your visit!! Thanks for watching. Cheers!
Very informative video. Is there a 1-stop-shop kind of website to book everything? Kind of like a vacation bundle where the flight, accommodation, attractions and events are all bundled into one package. i.e book the Ferry / Cyprus Lake Campground / Indian Cove / Grotto / Flowerpot island / Glass bottom boat tour all at once. And would i be right to assume that the campground you walked to the grotto from, was actually the Cyprus Lake campground? Thanks.
Unfortunately not a one stop shop. You kinda have to book everything separately. You are absolutely correct - we were staying at Cyprus Lake campground. For the boat tours, it’s easiest just to walk up and book in person. Then you can also make sure the weather will be good that day for your tour 😊
Great question. You DO NOT have to reserve a Park pass, Park passes are always for sale at the Parks Canada offices, on site. (when you get there). If you reserve your grotto parking online, we believe that you will pay the day pass admission fee AND the parking when you reserve. Otherwise, you can always buy a park pass at any time. Since we were camping at Cypress Lake, we did not have to reserve our parking, so we cannot be 100% sure what all you pay for when you reserve. We hope this helps.
Hahahaha!! That it is for sure!! Even in the hottest part of the summer - its COLD!! However no sargassum or hurricanes in the summer, but it LOOKS very tropical and beautiful.
Hello, the ferry across was $131 CAD and we are 23'. The ferry price is determined by vehicle length and number of passengers. $4.12/foot and $18.05/person (that includes tax) so hopefully this helps! Thanks for watching and thanks for your question!! Cheers! 🥂
Wow! What a fun experience and so beautiful. The weather really seems to be great this time of year. Thanks for sharing your experience. We had never heard of a beavertail 🦫 so again we are learning something new from our friends up north 😂. I think we're definitely missing out in the States because they look amazing. Congratulations on the number of views on this video. Steph and I have been busy with shooting, editing, and traveling so we are a bit behind on our UA-cam viewing. We were catching up today and noticed you're at 15K views 🎉🎉. Hopefully you're monetized. Maybe like us you might make one or two dollars when all is said and done 😂. Cheers! Chris & Steph @388_Days
Thanks guys!! Glad you enjoyed the video. We have really great weather across most of Canada in the summer. We are very fortunate. And yes, we are thrilled with how many people seem to be enjoying the video :) Cheers!
Used to be able to go up here and still enjoy the landscape without CROWDS. It's videos like this that have spolied this once quiet getaway.
Nobody goes there anymore. It’s too crowded.

Tobermory is such a beautiful place. I've never been disappointed in the time spent there. They also have a couple of fabulous art galleries.

Great video!
We are so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for taking time to let us know. Cheers!! 🥂
The water up there on the peninsula is Crystal clear…but can be cool depending when you are there. Great scuba diving up there too…have a great time!

Great ferry ride! Love Big Tub ! Swimming at the Grotto is fantastic.
It was such a nice day for crossing in the Big Canoe! We can’t get enough of the gorgeous water all around the peninsula!

That's what I was going to say. Looks tropical til you put your toe in the water! 😆
the water level at singing sands is right up to the parking lot. theres no beach left anymore.
@@tested123 That would happen now and then. some years there would be lots of beach / sandbars, and other years it would be like that. It will always be one of my fav places

Lake Huron is definitely warmer and offers amazing sunsets. Georgian Bay is deep, beautiful and fresh!!! lol.

It is truly a gorgeous area! Just stunning.
Great video! Fun to watch until you lowered the camera on the top of that fire lookout 🤮 terrified of heights 😂
LOL!! Sorreeee!!
Only freezing cold water. 😅
The water LOOKS amazing, but is VERY fresh indeed! LOL

Are those trees in the visitors’ centre real?! 112 steps up to the lookout- nice job guys!
Not real trees in the visitor centre, they are replicas. And thanks! LOL
53k views! Wtg!
Crazy eh?! LOL. Thanks!!
From where we can take the ferry ?
The ferry terminal is right in Tobermory and in South Baymouth on Manitoulin Island. You can also drive to Tobermory from southern Ontario. Cheers!
do we need to reserve the Park pass to get to grotto? or we can buy it there?
Great question. You DO NOT have to reserve a Park pass, Park passes are always for sale at the Parks Canada offices, on site. (when you get there). We have a large dog & need to know if & where they’re allowed
Dogs are allowed on the ferry.
Yes dogs are allowed on the ferry, in the park, along the grotto trail and also at most restaurants on a patio. We hope this helps!
Yes, and unlike BC ferries, we saw dogs ON the ferry, not having to be left in the vehicle for the crossing. So nice.
great to see Tobermory...but honestly could really do without the slap on the face at the end of each shot
Hahaha. Thanks for the feedback 😊
From these parts and pronounce the name wrong ? Chi Cheemaun not Chi Cheeman 🫤
Yeah. That annoyed me some what also. Chi -chi- mon.
One of the hardest things about travelling is trying to pronounce all of the things right!!! LOL
@@susanhamilton1822not sure if that annoyed me more or the camera slapping..
You are a very very beautiful woman !
Thank you! 😊
Too cold water temperatures for my liking, it still is Canada not the Caribbean
Hahahaha!! That it is for sure!! Even in the hottest part of the summer - its COLD!! However no sargassum or hurricanes in the summer, but it LOOKS very tropical and beautiful.
The water is warmer now around 18c.
That is actually a good temperature!
Canada in the summer is really warm
Where is this
It is in Ontario, on the north tip of the Bruce Peninsula.
Certainly not the Caribbean from October to May lol
DEFINITELY not!! LOL. But stunning from June to October!!
How much was the car ferry?
