7:18 is just so wild, dude. How lucky we were to have Oscar Isaac as Marc Spector/Steven Grant/Jake Lockley
it really shows the struggle so damn well
@@juniorsenpai9 he temporarily turned back into the scared, angry and traumatized kid Marc. PTSD is some serious shit. Fantastic show. Hope we get more down the road, yet only time will tell
@@alxlight6651 agreed 💯
The first one is Jake lockley you can see he's change in voice and has a bandage on his nose which Marc or Steven didn't have
You can even tell from his eyes as well
But, Jake speaks Spanish…
@@soniaolmos08 that doesn’t stop him from speaking English as well. He can speak English in a city accent while also speaking Spanish or any other language.
He's Spanish though lol
@@thewhitewolf5027 Pfft casually ignores the comment above you
I find it so telling that Marc is the one emotionally disintegrating throughout out all this. Steven is a part of him yes, but he is the innocent part, the part who for all the problems he was forced to wrestle with; had clean hands, loved his mother & wouldn't hurt a fly.
Here not only is Marc being forced to relive his worst memories and greatest sins, but Steven, the part of him who exists to give Marc an escape from being Marc (almost like Marc's happy place) and whom is modelled closely enough on Marc's brother to almost be like getting him back, now knows the truth.
I agree, but Steven deserve to learn the truth and Marc could have just wait in the asylum that Steven learn the truth if it was too difficult to see again. Marc didn't have the right to try to force Steven in the ignorance
Sadly for Marc, it was time for him to stop hiding behind Steven. We don't see any of Steven's memories beyond the one, but you get the sense that's because he doesn't have many because Marc refused to allow him to have any experiences beyond those that didn't fit the lie. Marc couldn't see Steven *wasn't* the happy or normal person he wanted him to be because he wanted to hold onto the lie so strongly, Steven didn't. He actively fights against Marc because subconsciously, as the alter created to support and help him, he knows Marc needs to let the lie go, even if it's emotionally disintegrating.
Is it just me or was the memory of Marc beating down the werewolf even more brutal than it was in Episode 1? His punches seemed to land both harder and faster. I like it.
That’s what she said
I think its because Marc sees himself wayyyy more aggressive than he really is which is a really nice detail
Yeah
Not even close to a werewolf
Not a werewolf an Egyptian Jackal
That scene in Marcs head REALLY hit me with a feeling I can't describe, but the best part was what Steven said: "Marc.... *Why is there a child in a room full of people you've killed?"* It's like, I need context NOW.
Oscar Isaac is the brilliant actor. Oscar deserves an Oscar 😂
You should hear him sing.
oscar is a top tier acting the pure motion and pain between marc and steven is so well acted
Love how at 7:17 Steven jumps backwards at Marc’s sudden outburst
I have feeling that Khonshu is the who set Randall's death, the bird skeleton that Steven stepped on is not a coincidence.
By far, the greatest episode of the series.
The way you release them so quickly the day this episode was released. I literally love this channel so much TYSM for your videos and scene packs
7:18 the part i came for because it makes me feel something
Same
Yes!Its comic accurate. It show that he is actually mental ill
7:18 amazing
Oscar Isaac is a great actor! Acting as two characters is difficult, but he managed to ace it. He really made them seem like they were two different characters!
When he steps into the backyard scene and locks Marc out, and Steven turns around and sees their mom, he completely loses his accent and says "Mom" like (American) Marc would instead of "Mum" as (British) Steven would. Breaks my damn heart.
8:50 What a hilarious transition when you cut to that 😂
Like hes legit disagreeing with himself right after the nice comment 😂
@@alxlight6651 Right? 😂
It’s actually brilliant…..on an actual psychological scale, each personality represents the ego, superego and the id PERFECTLY. Steven is the superego; agreeable, rational, empathetic. “Give peace a chance” as Carlin would say. Marc is the Ego, the balance of the id and superego, reflected in him stating “worst case, kill the hippo and steal the boat.” Indicating “if peace doesn’t work, then contingency for instinctual survivalist violence is in play.” Where as Jake as the primal and almost feral ID…would’ve tried to kill Taweret and attempting to make hippo burgers, while sailing in an endless sea of sand.
This was basically that Mr.Robot scene where Vera questions Elliot
Oscar Isaac does everything much better. His acting in this show is better than anything else I have ever seen.
Seeing Steven moving the stars is amazing 😍😎👍💖
I hope Steven will return 💖
He doesn’t
@@allendelcid8112 he does

This show convinced me that Oscar Isaac is the greatest actor of all time.
The first one is actually Jake lockley

I wonder did Marc's mother have DID. Why was Marc saying, "She's not my mom. She's not my mom?" I wonder did something happen to her mentally after RoRo died? Losing a child is enough to make you want to be someone else.
@Failingpepper 11 Oh, I see.
Most of the time, people who have DID suffered from their trauma as children before 9, when their personality wasn't completely formed yet.
I see it more like Marc trying to separate his mother’s abusive behavior from his mom as a person. Clearly, she mentally deteriorated after RoRo’s death (though they never specify what condition she has), and we see Marc and his dad talking about how she needs help once we see Marc trying to move out. In my mind, kid Marc is trying to reason that it’s the condition that’s making her do this, and the “mom” he’s witnessing now that’s ready to beat him isn’t what his mother would really be like without the illness. If that makes sense!
Also, just a quick note that DID can’t develop in adulthood. If Marc’s mother had DID, she would’ve needed to develop it due to childhood abuse before age 6 usually (before a child’s personality is fully formed, which can “split” off in DID), so it couldn’t have been brought on by RoRo’s death. What *could* happen if she did have it though, is that she already had DID since childhood and a new alter was formed because of the trauma of losing her son. But I think it was more implied that she had some kind of other disorder.
Also DID isn’t really a result of “wanting” to be someone else, it’s due to dissociation as the brain’s coping mechanism for the trauma. You can’t create an alter on purpose either (though Steven told Marc this with the “you created me to be your stress ball”, he said it bc he was angry and not bc Marc actually created him intentionally).
Hope this helps!
Thanks for all the comments. Losing a child is a horrible thing even if you don't have DID.
I bet it's even harder for those who do. It's just a tough thing to deal with. 😟
Oye lucky lucky oye
The first scene isnt marc its jake lockley
I mean, the way he's holding that glass or something, of course that's him..
And the bandage on his nose
It’s not

Damn you cut the best parts shorter😭😭😭 I wish you left the clips longer for intro edits but I be sad
Literally! I cant find the full lines anywhere 😭

Why does the mcu put so many jokes in between the serious scenes
The "jokes" are how all of his personalities handle the trauma... Many people do the same in real life.

If you haven't watched Moon Knight, you really should. The acting is truly next level, especially from Oscar Isaac.
