Great stuff, Doug! Thanks so much!
Very usefull tips and explained very well 👍😀
Much appreciated, very informative and interesting, thank you for the generosity in sharing.
Our pleasure!
Very helpful, thank you! On that level the gear should work flawlessly so all focus can be on what the subjects are doing.
Nice. I like hearing the thought process 👍
Such a good video - I think one of your best. When you describe every element of your thought process for a scene, it really shows how many variables you are juggling while filming even a so-called “simple” scene. Also your experience with this species really helps anticipating their movements. And the “shooting dirty” is a great tip.
Thank you for the kind words. Yes there is a lot of elements with video that have to be considered simultaneously.
Fantastic tips Doug! Thank you!
Glad it was helful
Wonderful and very helpful video, Doug. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Great stuff Doug with some superb tips for video, we kind of do it without thinking but I’ve certainly picked up some more tips for video, as mainly a stills shooter it’s been a great reminder for me. Thanks very much, been following you for as long as I can remember but have been out of touch with your work for a while so I’m sure I’ll catchup. Cheers Rich 👍
Thank you
I am new to wildlife videography. This is really helpful video. ❤❤❤
Glad it was helpful!
Love the video resurgence Doug! I'd love to see a deep dive on how you actually focus on subjects. I have a DSLR and autofocus, especially moving subjects, always seems to be lacking. Even on a professional video setup I'd be curious your techniques. I know you say you use manual a lot.
Great suggestion! I will do a video on manual focusing vs autofocusing in the near future.
Very informative!!
Glad you liked it
Thank you so very much for these really useful tips.
I have subscribed today too. 🙂
Thanks for subbing!
Absolutely informative. Thanks
Could you tell me what matte box are you using on the sigma EF 60-600mm ?
I'm using the Wooden Camera Zip Box Pro and the Kippetie Revola ND system.

I love this channelllll!!!! My I ask how you get these shots so close to the ground? Are you spreading the Satchler legs to get the tripod close to the ground? Or do you use something like a saddlebag? I love my saddlebag on the ground but I cant get any shots with motion=/ Thank you so much for sharing all these amazing tips! Must have taken years to master!
Yes I either spread the tripod legs out wide and low or use "baby legs" to get ground level. Sand bags do not work for video! you either need to be on a tripod or gimbal for smooth movement.
@@douggardner1 Thank you!
