Unless you’re really into Japanese culture/anime or good at learning languages, there’s no way most of these will memorize these right before a trip. Some of these can even be cut down to just 1 word (just say word for train station or menu rather than entire phrase).
I can say first hand that it's super embarrassing, I remember when I was in Indonesia I would ask in bahasa about the prices/ info of items and they would respond back to me in bahasa and I had no idea what they were saying. It's even worse if you don't understand when you've just asked a super easy question like " how much is this " and they give you a response, I'd imagine I looked like a deer staring into headlights 😂😂 I'm sure I'll always have this problem when traveling so I've just accepted my fate 😂
@@JaeCole1 That's so funny because I used "そうですね" before in that situation and it was the perfect response. The lady grinned and kept nodding her head lol
if you're planning on traveling to Japan and wish to speak Japanese I highly suggest finding someone who actually speaks the language and conversing in person. Risa is awesome (I love Risa!) and I have learned a lot and am able to speak a little bit, but comprehending what others say can prove to be a bit of a challenge when attempting to do so on the spot. I found that because I have only used this program that I can ask for things and say different phrases but when you get a answer to your question or a reply statement it can be difficult due to the speed or "accent" the locals speak.
I think Risa watches a lot of anime lol, her expressions when explaining something is great!! this channel has been helpful, been trying to learn Japanese, definitely a slow process but thoroughly enjoying it, thanks to this channel!
For anyone reading this in the year of our lord 2024+, learn how to read romaji first! She could speak it slowly and that could be helpful for you... in the short term. It's a must that you have to listen to natural Japanese to really learn it. Over and over again until you understand it.
it's risa!!!!!!!!!!! how are all of you doing? I love watching your videos hope you all have a good day :D I have a question how would you say "watching your videos always cheers me up! "
Hey Risa! I love you! Your lessons are easy to absorb, learn and understand. You make it very pleasurable to hear and see each lesson...over and over again :-)
I might've heard these phrases in 2019. Here are some JJBA ones: Jojo no Eki na Bouken phrases Tsugi ni omae wa, 'koko wa chiketto ga arimasu!', to iu! Know your next line? Here are your tickets! That's the one! ORE NO ARERUGI WO YAMERU ZO, [tenin no namae]! I'M REJECTING MY ALLERGIES, [store clerk name]!
Kätzchen Chan I love your profile pic (´ヮ`) if you're interested in learrning how to read kanji too, I'm making mnemonics animations to remember them in an easy way. がんばって!
I am not sure but I think kudasai is more in a way of saying please, like please watch out, while onegaishimasu is more towards troubling you to do something. Just for discussions lol
I love you very much , I started to learn Japanese at may 2022 but I want to know something , what is the words of bye bye that Japanese people use ? Please told me quickly 🙏 ....., Is it さようなら or バイバイ or じゃあね
Dear Risa, lol.. can you make a video on common responses to commonly asked questions. for example, if i asked you how to get to the train can you make a video on common responses you might get from locals to that question..? I asked to order food and ran into a little trouble because I did not realize that she (the waitress) was asking if i wanted to eat in or take out.. ps, I love Risa more than anyone else in the comments. Im your biggest fan! lololol
Supreme channel.... wondering if it is true that japanese sort of leave off the pronunciation of the final letters for example when saying "GOZAIMASU", I only hear GOZAIMA.... Thank you for an awesome channel.

@@baboon_baboon_baboon thanks for your tips.
@@baboon_baboon_baboon I screenshots the main ones like asking about credit card to use on my trip 😅
Am I the only one that finds it kind of funny that if you do use these phrases you might get a japanese answer you don't know what is. lmao
Yeah that's definittely a concern, specially the ones about recommendations or asking for prices/directions lol
Just say そうですね。ありがとうございます。works like a charm 😂
Lmao that what I’m afraid of hahah then you just look at them with a confusing look on your face lol

Risa is totally amazing. She makes Japanese sound musical. What an outstanding teacher she is.
I like how simplified the sentences are
risa you are the cutest thing ever
OMG yes!
Best girl confirmed
I often get confused, is she an anime or a human ?
RISA !! The cutest japanese girl on UA-cam ! Love you Risa chan !

if Risa calls Wi-Fi as Wee-Fee ,that is how it should be pronounced!!
Agreed.
In an broadband advert in England, as a joke, they said Wee-Fee, from then on, everyone called Wi-Fi "Wee-Fee". I prefer Wee-fee though.
The Big Furry Hat has so proclaimed!('waifu' would be good too)
In polish even better - Vee Fee. :p
(翻白眼)
Risa's travel lesson was great, but It would be better if she could speak or pronounce the words in Japanese slowly to allow us to follow.

How do you distinguish sake (salmon) from sake (alcohol) other than context and writing?
usually nowadays, salmon is written in katakana/katakanized... but context and writing would be the only difference if you were going sake vs sake.
Hi pluckernil,
Thank you for posting.
"sake"(alcohol) has the accent on the second syllable "ke",
whereas "sake"(salmon) has it on the first syllable "sa".
Hope this helps you.
