If you're not sure when to use の願いします (onigaishimasu) or ください (kudasai), の願いします is most typically used when asking for something that is likely to be more involved for the listener to do. It's typically translated as "Please do for me". ください is usually for simpler things the speaker wants to get. It is translated as "please give me".
I travelled to Japan last year and I was able to use what I learned from your videos to speak a very limited amount of Japanese to various locals and while I'm sure my pronunciation was far from perfect, they all seemed very appreciative of my effort to use their language and it made for a much richer and enjoyable experience for me. So arigatou gozaimas sensei!
I never comment on UA-cam, but I needed to say something to you. Thank you so much for this video. I have watched it so many times because this is the first video that the words really made sense to me. It allowed me to hear the words in a way that I could watch other videos and they made sense. You are a real gift! Thank you!
this is awesome ! i was watching it on the tv and was about to ask you to get all those phrases in a doc file. then i saw you posted a PDF :) THANK YOU VERY MUCH !
From the bottom of my heart - thank you so very much!!!! I’ve watched this video several times a day and feel very happy about my progress -- which is due entirely to your great teaching methods!!!!
I am a solo traveler, and I find your videos really good, simple, and clear. Your different videos cover most situations. I will ve doing another of hiking in rural areas, where there are fewer people speaking English. So I am grateful for your courses
Excellent teacher ☺ I plan to come to Japan this summer so it's very uesfull I'm also a teacher a foreign teacher before in China I've leant some Chinese before so I'm motivated to learn Japanese
This is the best easy to learn Japanese channel I've ever seen. And plus, pictures on videos make us quickly understand means. Personally, I feel the practical tutorials about daily life help me a lot. Thanks, Ninja.🥰🥰🥰
Its good to me that watching this video for the first time(you have several videos that i am not watched all ) because i am leaning new phrases and another sentence that i know. That's it . We will always find new sentence and old sentence . Its good! Thanks Baby sensei!!!

Thanks for the video AND the pdf! Although I'm in Japan now, I can't wait to use a lot of your resources to start learning from scratch once I go back home!
Ninja Sensei is so excited for us to visit Japan, she forgot her closing! 💕💕💕 すこし is a word that got brought into English and changed slightly. A skosh means a very little bit of something! 😀
Onegaishimasu =kindly request /please ・Mizu, onegaishimasu : water , please. ・Shashin , onegaishimasu : Picture, please. Kudasai = please give me [sth]. (Polite) ・Mizu, kudasai : Please give me water. You can’t say, Shashin kudasai. It means please give me a picture.
Hello Ninja Sensei, I have a question. I visited Japan last year - during my trip, I once used "Mada desu" when a waitress approached and asked if I was ready to order. After I said this, she seemed to either not fully understand what I had said - or I thought I might have accidentally been rude somehow... I didn't feel like I could really understand her reaction (maybe because I thought I knew what I was saying), but I think she seemed a little taken aback or something. Do you think there could have been a misunderstanding? Thank you --
Hmm there is no similar words to ‘Mada desu’ so I think she understood what you said …🤔 Maybe … she got confused because you spoke perfect Japanese 😎🌸?? Anyway, I’m so happy you did try to use what you have learned 🥰 Please try next time again !! 🇯🇵 That was just a rare case and I’m sure waitress will understand your Japanese next time!! ☺️🙌🙌🙌
Come on....minna isshoni...says Ninja sensei ga daisuki😂😂😂😂 May i join to your private lesson?its 4 months already i had been learning japanese but unshown improvement..... Sometimes i m envy to others person, they can speak naturally in japanese only in 3 months....it cant be😣😣😣😣 Cheer me up😭 onegaishimasu
Hehehe Minna isshoni 🤣👏💕 Arigatooo!!!! Don’t worry! I’m sure you’ll be also able to SPEAK Japanese🥰 Stop leaning new things and try to make sentences using what you have learned! 🥷 I may open my schedule for trial lessons! maybe .. end of April!!☺️ I’m looking forward to seeing you soon😎🌸hehe
I really like your work, but my eyes always focus on Romanji first when I try to read hiragana. Can you please move Romanji far away from hiragana? You can switch Romanji with meaning at the bottom. It will help me a lot. I don’t want to remember Romanji. Thank you.

Are these questions phrased in a gender-specific manner or are they general for both men and women?
Is it okay to Ku da sa i to say please in general.. in shops, e.g. mizu ku da sa i... noticed you used another phrase to say please.
