Arun. you are correct in that you can write it like this as (-4)squared + 3 squared is still 25. However, since length is a magnitude I am only concerned with the lengths of the sides not the directions so I can ignore and just square 4 and 3

It could and I get why you wrote that as it is correct. The way you wrote it and the way I wrote it are exactly the same and you have a great question. For example in numbers -2 - 4 works out the same as -4 - 2 and -2 + - 4. We are both correct

Thankyou
I can't thank you enough for this video! really really helpful. I hadn't understood vectors after 5 months of trying to, but this video, in just 25 minutes, explained all of the concepts. Thank you very much!
For Exam Q2, 19 (a)
Could you express the answer in a Mixed Number rather than a Top-heavy fraction?
So it would be from 3/2s > 1 1/2 s
Really happy to help! Mr H
Yes - they would be really useful for you. Just check the AQA spec as you go along to ensure there is nothing you are missing out! Best regards. Mr H
Thank you SO much. I watch you before every maths exam and somehow you never fail to teach me something I once never understood before 👍
This topic had always been one of my weakest parts in my revision but you helped so much. Thank you!
Thank you so much. My teacher is completely helpless when it comes to teaching. You saved me thank you
Glad to have helped! Best of luck!
I have a test tomorrow and this topic has been said to come up. This was a great video that has helped me increase my understanding and fill in the gaps in my learning. Thanks sir! Keep up the good work! :D
Got a math GCSE tmrw ... This helped a lot for revision as I was a bit confused about this topic....I'll watch some of your other videos too for other topics revision and THANKYOU so much for this really helped clarify some gaps in my understanding
Mine went shit how did yours go?
@@haiderzaidi6571 well mine was lit ... Only did 3 mistakes...might cost me only 5 marks I'm so excited for the result.... Hope everyone gets what they desire!
P2 went great though lets see what we get
Good for u!...Well my p1 and p2 had less mistakes than usual so I'm hoping for an A* cuz I've cross checked my answers with teacher created mark schemes so hopefully...
@@kishwerjabeen3621 good luck though im hoping for an A
I literally had no idea how to solve vectors until this video literally made me a pro at this, thank you so much!
Your literally the Best!! My teacher literally "Did not have time to teach us this" I've got an advantage now though 👍
Hey, this is an amazing video. I was honestly stuck on this topic, but after watching your video I was able to condense A* maths material in a matter of minutes. Like to show your support for this guy
honestly, you are the best maths tutor in the whole of youtube. I have been struggling with this topic and everytime my teacher recap on this topic, i felt like a absolute dumbass for not understanding. THANK YOU 😁
This is amazing!! I'm not able to understand my math teacher , but this video is amazingly clear , and I have a test on Thursday and I feel prepared!
Thank you so much , and keep the great work :)
rudaina61 Hiya - thanks loads!!! Any chance you could spare 30 secs to vote for HegartyMaths in this Richard Branson competition which ends in a few days. Would mean a lot to me and HegartyMaths. www.virginmediabusiness.co.uk/pitch-to-rich/start-up/hegartymaths/ Thanks Mr H
I voted :) btw are your videos for IGCSE ? for 2015?
Awesome. Yes the videos work for iGCSEs too especially the newer posts.
it would help a lot if you created a playlist for the IGCSE because me, my friends and many of my family members use this website for our IG's :)
That is exactly what I did except I expanded the bracket with 1/2 to get a + 1/2b -1/2a so I could combine the vectors and simplify. Does that help? :-)
You really should combine. You have 1 S plus 1/2 S so it's 3/2 S. Best practice is to combine so would try and make sure you can do this. Good luck!
Brilliant. Thanks so much for the ongoing 6plus years of commitment...
excellent video. extremely helpful. got a test tmrw
I never learnt this in my class! Now that you explained this in your video. i feel as if these are easy marks to get!!!! Thank you sooo much!
Too kind but if I helped I'm happy. Best of luck. Mr H
amazing video really helped have an exam in September and I actually have not been taught this topic so had to learn from scratch so am really glad I found you on this cuz honestly its sooo much easier :))
Thanks for the video! It helped a lot more than other videos on the topic. I particularly like the way you used example questions.
Thank you so much for your excellent video. This subject was very well explained step-by-step. Invaluable.
I wish you were my math teacher this has helped me a lot even though it has been nine years but hey I’m using it ❤️
Hi Mr Hegarty i'm sure everyone agrees that you are doing a wonderful job and helping everyone out, could i ask what software do you use. Thanks in advance
Hey Mr. H,
For Question b at 20:00 , you only wrote one geometric value? Or does that count as two?
Cheers.
Exam after 2 days. Ur videos really helped me god bless u....
Thank you very much Mr Hegarty!
(3, -4) means 3 right and 4 down. The 4 isn't positive it is just that since I drew the line going down then I can write 4 beside it as it is 4 long.
your explaination is really very simple and easy to understand. even in hard topics also. Thank you Sir..
thank you Mr.Hegarty your videos are always very helpful
this was unbelievably helpful omg thank you!!
Thanks man, my igcse maths paper is in 2 days and vectors was the only topic I was slightly confused in. Thank you for clearing my confusion.😀👍🏻
I was worried about vectors, before I came across this video thanks allot mate you have boosted my confidence, am taking the exam tomorro non cal,
