  • In this video, I give you revision tips and the best revision technique that no one ever tells you for how to easily remember anything. This helped me get All A*s in my GCSEs 2016 and I want to give you GCSE and A level advice for 2017! This is how to pass your A levels and pass your GCSEs and how to do well in exams - especially good for visual and kinaesthetic learners!
    Thank you for all the support I've been getting - it's INSANE!! Today is my channel's 2-month anniversary (still a baby!!) and I couldn't be happier. I love you; all of you. Thank you.

    I got A* for A-Level Chemistry, Physics and Maths. My biggest advice is to start practising question papers even though you have not finished your revision. Start the first question paper, for instance for physics, look at the first number, is it on gravitation? then revise the chapter and attempt the question on the question paper..continue to do so for all the remaining questions. revising each chapter and doing the question. In this way, by the time you finish 6 question papers, you would already have revised a lot. Continue till you no longer have to look at your notes. Then one day when the exam is near, sit down and read everything and memorise all the theories properly. look at all the question papers you did all the answers, and where you committed mistakes, learn from those mistakes. Use the marking scheme. You will be guaranteed an A*

      S.K K thank you so much but how would you give advice to the new spec since we don't have past papers is there any othertechnique you used??

    • @SKK-vt8jp

      Quork Understanding the concept and knowing the theory is very important but it is futile really if you do not practise any questions and understand how to apply what you learnt, especially for science subjects. You must have questions I suppose in the books that you are learning from, the topic by topic questions for instance. Practising questions are so important, without these I would have probably gotten Cs for my A-levels. I suggest studying everything of course and simultaneously practising all the questions available to you, even though they are not real exam questions, will be of tremendous help to you in any exam.

    I honestly think it is sad that this is what school and exams make us students do. We don't learn anything, we just try to remember phrases and formulas word for word until the exams are over and we don't need the information anymore. Then we just forget everything about it. What do we learn from this? Nothing!

      @MarieKyriney 6 років тому +101

      But do you need those things anyway? When will i need this super complex math formular? What loss do i have from eating all the information up and vomiting it out after exams?

      @anushaattiganal2002 6 років тому +113

      You are gonna need it depending on what job you want blah blah. You can't walk into you're interview to say...become a doctor, and not know anything about the human body

    • @cloudyiish
      @cloudyiish 6 років тому +74

      Exams test memory thought not the application of knowledge. Doctor's should obviously have certain things memorized but when it comes to the diagnosis of a patient they may have to do more research to properly treat them. Another example would be with lawyers who have to research every case they get and then apply that knowledge that's available with them. They wouldn't come in to court emptyhanded expecting to win on memory online

      Ah I wasn't really that clear in my first comment, but I meant discipline in the sense of 'knowing what needs to get done and doing it' if that makes sense! If you can recognise the high importance of revision then that alone should get you to do it! Idk it works for me, and kinda acts as my motivation in a sense! :) x

    Thank you so much!! Our teachers taught us a way called "Active recall" which is basically saying the same phrase over and over until you remember it. I find it very time consuming and took me a whole hour to learn one page in my science revision guide. Schools really need to use this method!!

  • @rhianberryman158
    @rhianberryman158 7 років тому +3

    Last year in school we did a similar method. We imagined our house and each room was something that we had to remember to for example a word in every room that made a paragraph. You also could use the method to learn how to spell something or to remember the order of a process. Great video keep up the good work and congrats on 13k x

    I actually started doing this in an exam a couple of months ago without having watched this video. I didn't do this in my bedroom but in the place I was doing the exam and in the few minutes before the exam we were allowed to look at our notes, so I picked a spot in the room in front of me and learnt a biology definition (just a short one) on the light switch because it was something to do with heating up enzymes so that they denatured and I thought that the light switch reminded me of heat/light and therefore that definition worked, so I did a bunch of others and it really really works! I'm glad I found someone else who uses it!!

      Hey Yasmine!! I did a LOT for mocks in November so I had a good base, but I properly started in Easter. Hmmm so f you honestly believe that in 4 hours or whatever, you are so super productive and are learning lots and covering enough, then PERFECT! No need to do more or less. Butttt if you waste so much time in the 4 hours, maybe you should extend it, or alternatively, make your time more productive.
      Soooo basically, it's all relative with revision. Do as much as YOU need my friend. Hope this made sense! Thank you so much for your support! So much love x x x

      peronally, grade 10 i paid 0 attention to my IG's, but if you really wanna gurantee that A* i suggest one hour a day, 5 days a week in grade 10 and when you move on to first term grade 11 make it two, then term 2 make it 4, then by term 3 which is the term of your exams make it literally as long as you can (idealistically 8 hours?)
      This i really helpful because by then you would've been consistent enough to memorize the conent+ get used to hours of revision. Good luck!

      Awhhh bless you! Wow no way ❤️💫 do you actually know how crazy that feels; like words that came out of my mouth have influenced someone as clearly intelligent as yourself to actually be inspired to do something. Wow. THANK YOU! Hmmm when your vegan you can eat more than the average person, so just make sure you're eating enough, especially in the early days. Oreos are vegan ;) and there are so many good basic dinners that are so easy and cheap like pasta and rice, sweet potatoes and stir fries etc. Wishing you luck! (after exam season I want to do way more intro to veganism-type videos!) x x x

    I have adhd and only remember shit I like, it sucks. I will literally spend an entire day researching eg about a guy inside my textbook, his past, his birthplace, his thoughts and personality how he ended up doing what he did so I can connect everything and be in their shoes. Such a waste of time, thank you so much for this.

      Hey friend 💙 bless you I'm so glad I could actually be of help! YOU'VE GOT THIS - yeah? hmmm last minute revisers hey. Okay so this one is a bit of a pain, but I think you NEED to have written flashcards in advance. That way you can just pull them out right near an exam, flick over ones you know, properly read the ones you don't! Hope this helped. Thank you for being here - i honestly am so grateful x x x x (P.S I'm an animal lover too ;))))

    i just stumbled upon this. I am a visual learner myself and this seems so helpful. if you could do a video particulary on how to condense a lot of information into useful stuff it would be great because saying "make notes" is very vague. if you could do a demomstration it would be very helpful( plus i heard you are taking a-level biology and i am a science student myself).
