      It will make a difference, but if I had to add something, I would say reduce "regular" sugar intake, avoid sprayed fruit (very important) and reduce dairy intake (primarily milk). That makes a massive difference for me, along with skincare products. And I am not sure yet to what degree it helps over the long haul. But something to consider!

    Hello Melissa thank you for your informative video. I was researching on differin and panoxyl and came across your video. Would it be alright if I use both panoxyl and differin at night ? For example, can I wash my face with panoxyl and then put differin and then moisturizer ? Also, should I do this routine every single day if it’s alright or do it every other day since I have heard it’s better to use the differin every other day. Or should I use differin one day and panoxyl the next day?

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  Рік тому +1

      Yes, it is possible to use benzoyl peroxide and adapalene together, as they are both topical acne medications that work in different ways. Benzoyl peroxide is an antibacterial agent that helps to reduce the amount of P. acnes bacteria on the skin, while adapalene is a retinoid that helps to unclog pores and reduce inflammation.
      It's generally recommended to start using adapalene and benzoyl peroxide once a day, at night and in the morning respectively, and then gradually increase the frequency of use as your skin becomes accustomed to it. The goal is to use the lowest concentration and frequency of use that effectively controls your acne.

      According to Paula's Choice, yes. Layer one product after the other. This can work. However, there is still some controversy about Niacinamide and Vitamin C. So, test it. If you do not see any benefits, keep those two in separate routines.

      Also, make sure to use a gentle hydrating foaming cleanser instead of CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser. While these treatments can help reduce active acne and should fade dark spots over time, it's important to address the root cause of your acne. If you take a look at my community tab, you'll gain a better understanding of what I'm referring to. Personally, I believe that stress, including emotional stress, and diet play important roles in acne.

      What strength of Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser do you use? As demonstrated in the video, yes, I recommend using them in separate routines. Also, I don't think you need CeraVe's Moisturizing Cream - that's way too heavy. Either use a hydrating toner, essence, or serum to keep your skin hydrated, or look for a lightweight gel or gel-to-cream moisturizer like The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + Beta Glucan or Geek & Gorgeous Hydration Station, or Neutrogena's Hydro Boost.

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  Рік тому

      @@Jur2993 I assume you have combination to oily skin, don't you?
      And not all moisturisers are the same.
      CeraVe Moisturizing Cream is formulated with a rich texture. However, it can be too heavy for individuals with combination or oily skin, potentially leading to a greasy feel or exacerbating acne by clogging pores. The effects can be further intensified when used in conjunction with Differin (Adapalene).
      Adapalene has the ability to make the skin more sensitive and initially dry, as it accelerates the turnover of skin cells. Therefore, pairing it with a heavy moisturizer might intensify the skin's sensitivity. This could result in irritation, redness, or even an increase in oil production and this may lead to clogged pores.
      For these reasons, I recommend using a lighter, non-comedogenic product such as a toner, serum, or moisturizer. These types of hydrators or moisturizers can effectively hydrate the skin without contributing to oiliness or the potential for clogged pores.

However, increasing to a 10% formulation won't necessarily yield better results, it could just lead to more irritation. Hey! :)
      Either use the 10% BP Gel or choose a BP Cleanser. Still, I don't think that you need the 10% one, as the 4%-5% can be just as helpful with way less dryness or irritation.
      I wouldn't use Lactic Acid together with Benzoyl Peroxide. However, HA and Niacinamide are fine.

      @ZeingriD TV Does your skin feel irritated?
      What's your skin type? Since Cetaphil's Gentle Skin Cleanser is meant for Dry to Normal skin.
      Has anything else changed? Like the weather, your diet, or more stress?
      It could be that your skin does not tolerate Benzoyl Peroxide that well, and therefore it's giving your such a reaction - in that case, I recommend trying out a Salicylic Acid Cleanser instead. Still, have you tried using it less often or giving your skin a break to see how your skin responds to Differin Gel alone?

      Morning:
      Use Panoxyl.
      Pat dry.
      Apply Y_axis dark spot correcting glow serum.
      Wait for 30 seconds to 1 minute.

For instance, my freckles and discoloration around the eyes took about a year to fade.

But also be careful with overusing Benzoyl Peroxide as it may cause premature aging when used for too long! So better to have breaks in between and try to change something in your work/life balance or try other treatments that are not as aggressive, maybe tretinoin or just continuing with Adapalene and using Benzoyl Peroxide only when it is really needed!
