I had someone who filed to have his record expunged where I was the victim. I received a letter in the mail just two days before the hearing telling me I had the option to write my opinion on the expungement, but that it wouldn't necessarily affect the decision of the judge. Two days before the hearing. Even if I had filled it out and and mailed it back immediately, it wouldn't have made it to the judge in time. It really didn't feel like they actually cared to hear my opinion, but they were legally required to send me the letter, so they did .. at the very last minute
