@@TechnoBro999 Gaming PC monitors are made for fast paced gaming at very high fps/refresh rate. TV's are not. When it comes to gaming on a PC, using a TV is not the answer if you want the best experience possible (in terms of smoothness and latency). Using an OLED as a PC monitor will almost guarrantree burn-in at some point too.

    • @saucyg6371
      @saucyg6371 4 роки тому +2

bagel basically use case and therefore screen size. Living room/couch gaming which would result in a bigger screen, as opposed to desktop gaming which is for people who game at their desk. People who game at their desk are typically going to care more about refresh rates, latency, ghosting, gtg avg, etc. These people typically have a pc, although there are many who game on a console at their desk. Monitors typically aren’t as “pretty” for movie consumption, but then again its a small screen so idk why one would expect the same experience as a tv. But to sacrifice for the movie experience, you gt a whole bunch more features if you’re playing fps/multiplayer games. Single players games are fine on either a tv or a gaming monitor since the standard for these types of games is 60fps. Anything above that is great, but 60fps is the bare minimum.

Sony x900H has 120Hz panel and dimming zones, so I think it almost overlaps into the premium column. I wouldn't really call it a budget TV. I also wouldn't call it a downgrade from the TCL 6 series, before you review it (more dimming zones doesn't always equate to a better TV). It wont' be as bright as the TCL, but upscaling, motion, uniformity will be WAY better. Early reviews are saying the x900H looks great, so please put it on your review list! The x900H will also be great for sports viewing, so it covers two categories (not sure why you excluded it from the sports category). I think it's going to be comparable to the H9G, just not as bright, but will have better motion/upscaling. I have the H8G, and it's nice, but I fully expect the x900H to be better. Besides this point about x900H, nice video!

    • @LinasKricenas
      @LinasKricenas 4 роки тому +1

@@jamesvolpe3581 It depends. 950H has more dimming zones (for 65": 950H - 60 zones vs 900H - 32 zones) and is brighter. It also has flagship video processor X1 Ultimate, so it does better upscaling / motion handling / etc. 950H also has X-wide angle. The only way 900H being better is HDMI 2.1 (VRR, ALLM) but even it's supported by hardware the software will be upgraded later this year (hopefully before PS5 release), so imho you could not experience those HDMI 2.1 advantages yet (while firmware upgraded). So again, it depends. Some people don't do much gaming or gaming at all, so for watching movies 950H still may be a better buy.

Thanks for the guide, it helped me direct my research. I just got the Q90R for £1100.
I couldn't justify the 60% price hike to go from the 2019 Q90R to the 2020 Q90T just for HDMI 2.1 and IMO worse contrast processing. My kids and I all have PC's, so maximising a PS5's "potential" isn't a priority. I would be surprised if any PS5 exclusive games make it to 4K 120Hz anyway. I don't know why console players think resolution is more important than frame rate, I'd rather be @ 2k 120Hz over 4k 60Hz any day!
I stream most of my films at 1080p and regular shows at 720p to avoid buffering so this TV is currently overkill. But it will be ready for improvements to internet bandwidth over the next 5 years.
This seems like a silly thing but the remote control design matters a lot to me. Samsung do a nice large version of a Fire TV remote. The LG remotes looks awful and are covered in unnecessary buttons.

i have an OLED EC9300, it's 1080p model from 2014. It has 2 little burn ins barely visible that showed up after 3 years of use, over 10.000+ hours total. I'm thinking about getting a 4K, that supports HDR and H265. I think it's time now, there was very little real 4K content a few years ago. It MUST be an OLED of course. But unfortunately, I live in third world shithole so I buy what I find (2014 OLED bougth in 2016), not exactly what I want. But anyway, I really appreciate your videos. Top notch analysis. 👍

I bought TCL 8 series. Not in your table, but at the sale price ($1,000) it firmly seats in Action & Sports Premium segment, eclipsing flagship segment sets in categories that matter to me like dynamic range and brightness.
The only thing that TCL 8 series can’t do is VRR, which is not going to be an issue with gaming consoles that don’t go above 60Hz anyway.

If you're upgrading your TV and find it worse than your previous TV, the ONLY reason for that is that you upgraded too quickly.
Here's the upgrading guide (unless you are a multi-millionaire):
Is your TV more than 15 years old?
If yes and you want to spend some money, upgrade.
    Otherwise, don't.

I currently own a TCL R625 and I'm not impressed. I've had/still have a Samsung NU6900 (2018) and the picture quality is better than the R625. The motion & the picture processing is not good. It's ok for the casual watcher but for dedicated watchers it won't cut it. Gaming & Netflix viewing is ok though.
Honestly, the chart maybe should be reworked with current AND reviewed TV's with casual viewing on the bottom, the next level above it for movies and the top level for gaming, meaning the top-tier has it ALL. And then the tiers separated quality/level with low as the first column, then mid, then high as the third.
Lastly, I think you really should review the Sony x900h. Not a lot of expert reviews but early consumer reviews are saying that it's amazing. Consumer reviews from the x950h are not as good. I actually should be getting the x900h next week and can't wait to see the difference between the two.
Overall, you're a great reviewer, FOMO. I too don't hate fearing missing out on the best. :-)

@Stop the FOMO many thx for the video, great work. i must add tho im a pc gamer been playing games on pc for over 15 years, i build my own pc´s and allways have had a top of the line Pc screen, i would just tell you, what your reffering to its FPS games like - fortnight /pug g/ csgo ect, there ,uch more to PC and pc gaming than those 5 games, and still in those game if you a casual gamer 120Hz enough, so dont get it in your head the C9 is only a consol TV, there alot more to it, ill try to break it down from the top of my head owning a c9, i know im biased but try hearing me out.
    .
    1. many pc gamers upgrade path if NOT a FPS only player (only), but as a pc user, it could look like this 60hz> 144hz 27inch screen > 32/34" ultrawide > then what?? Only the 49" samsung/lg left and that screen while great have a even more Fked up ratio 21:9 or the 40" 4k bad HDR 4k monitors , so ull only get 60hz there alsow (ithink they upped it to 120hz/144hz now in 2020 but prob scost an arm and a legg) but its expencive, AND it fks up your ratio in movies / games / youtube - Ect as its a 21/9 screen aka blackbars and other stuff , then theres 4k monitor but those can´t do 120hz or aleast alsow only 40" big, + whit shitty 1000HDR as for all pc screen only have the standart 1000HDR baked in, thats is poor vs the c9 propper HDR.
    .
    2. + now adays ppl (pc) "users" do alot more than gaming, they watch netflix - movies/ watch live streams online or livestreams them selfs - create content and dabble in music or video creation and yes the ultrawides as great they are, but have a fk´ed ratio whit 21/9, trust iv been there while great, i love my c9 ---------- that much more just bc of that, then there no extra bezel in middle as u get from multi normal screens, the only issue i have had whits is gone now is the screen had to grow on me in terms of hight but thats now a non issuenow took a few days and gone was the issue - i sit at 80cm away, every day 10+ hours for work and gaming ect - my C9 is a 100% Pc screen and it great.
    .
    3. the tvs baked in fetures outshine every pc screen whit 120hz 4k gameing - Full Real HDR (not shittey 1000 HDR pc screen version )and Bakes in motion and setting for movies + Its Oled = the best for movies / netflix possible other thing too, even the c9 is isf calibratet whit gives and extra edge over a pc screen even its a basic calibrate for nexflix/movies + it got a free apple 4k baked nowin so thats a free 4k apple topbox too.
plus many more reasons, so i would tell you this, the ONE bigg off in my mind is Burn in,
but i can say 6 month down the road using my c9 for 100% pc Only, theres not a single issue yet, whit the screen and i game for hours on end 12+ sometimes and i know another guy whit a c9 for PC only and hes not having any issues either (yet) fingers crossed.
So dont get in your head pc screen is all about FPS as most games dont even need higher then 60hz/120hz to be really smooth,. thats only for FPS shooters mostly, and those bois would not even in the first place look towards this big a screen as they Cant look to the edges fast enough. So if you only play FPS shooters and you look to this, then allready 100% you playing on a shitty screen RN and it would not matter if it can go beoynd 120hz. so in short FPS gamers that only FPS yes stay away if your serius gamer if caual FPS playing, 100% it dont matter..
    .
    4. alsow, IF you wanna buy this tv and use for PC ther s a few steps, like i have a 180cm wide table and 80Cm Deep bigger than most regular tabels so ull have to be able to fit such a table in room, i will garrentee you will have a bad expirence sitting closer than this and getting use to that, so needs a big table. alsow turn on Logo shit to high, screen saver to 1-2 hours so i will turn off and never unplug the tv or turn it off on the wall, as it will then not refresh pixels when its time overnight to do so, and from my understanding that would result in bigger issues whit burn in.
    .
    5. i would like to think the 48" even better gameing tv as for some 55 maby too big i came from a ultrawide and it was this or the samsung 49 ultrawide g90. but whit the better resulution and baked in fetures and real HDR its a massive upgrade and a great expirence, i would never go back, but i understand the size might be too big for some, then good thers 14 - 2 days of trade in or monnyback most places, alsow ull need a RTX 20xx card or a never not released only to get Gsync/freesync to work, alsow dont get a too small card as it wont drive this screen proberly at 1440p @120hz need s a little more power when gaming to drive all thise pixels @ 120hz.
    .
Alsow thanks for the videos i hope you read this and rethink your stance on pc gaming/pc users, most grown ups that will have 2000$ to spend on a tv aint a little kid/grown up and is playing FPS Shooters all day all night.
    .
