I tried templar once. used Wake of ashes and another builder to get to 5 . Drop the hammer and suddenly sit at 0 Holy Power with your best builder (wake) on cooldown.... Is it just me or does that feel super awkward? This might make the difference for me to reroll to monk (no pun intended)

It does. Ret is probably the easiest spec to play in the entire game. It's a ranged melee hybrid with absolutely obscene AOE damage. Everything in their kit synergizes well, and their new Hero talent now basically kicks off whenever they use Wake of Ashes -- AND it can kick off Wings to boot. The Rotation is basically Blade, Judgement, Finisher, then everything else is a CD. The only spec even remotely as brain dead easy to play is BM imo. It is fun, but it feels like Blizzard is on their knees coddling Paladins to give them everything they could ever want.
It's the current big winner for the same reason that Annihilator was so popular, and Demon Blades remains the go-to for Havoc. It just frees up the rotation so much and lets you concentrate on keeping up your judgment and spending your heavy hitters.
and this is why i have not brought beta because i know its gonna be last minute changes atleast up until last 2 weeks before release you fall inlove with changes then boom more changes and kills the builds you fall inlove with but id say more than damage its sacrosanct that hurt me because ret in pvp after bubbles can be very squishy so im taking it very personal they messing with our survivability while warlocks get 5 million health shield absorbs and health stones and hunters be healing to full off random abilities while hybrids struggle then right when i feel we have a strong single target build they make us aoe monsters when aoe dont really get the job done for ret its single target especially since we gont got armor pen or mortal strike effects we thrive on burst but they wont even let us have that
I think they regretted making us more tanky with the rework, every patch they nerfed our defensives and now with the new expansion they nerfed it even more, removing things like crusader's reprieve, judgments of the pure and putting things like aegis protection and shield of vengeance together as a choice node. Meanwhile all other specs are getting more defensives and self healing, i mean even hunter now have better defensives and self healing thn Ret...

Ret paladins crying about ret aura is super silly. "NOW THERE WILL BE NO RETS IN RAID EVER!!!! HOLY AND PROT BRING MORE UTILITY!!!! WAAAAA"... I mean, last tier prot also brought ret aura and spellwarding... Paladin was the ONLY class you had to bring 2 of which was silly seeing how many raid buffs there are now. They should just give DK ret aura. Paladins already bring way more utility than most classes with bop, LOH, sac, freedom and insane off healing as ret or prot.

and already can we just make blade of vengeance and holy flames a combined ability just like consecration and blade of justice why so many goofy ways to do one talent or what should be one talent or move and go head and throw in consecrated ground too and give us real different talents that feel impactful like idk a mortal strike or armor penetration smh
Roughly 2/3 of paladin damage ignores armor completely already. Not sure you need armor penetration when you now do mostly straight holy or fire damage.
@poorwowgameplay my while point is damn it give us more damage that's harder for the person to recover from which what it use to be is our burst but now that we are a medium wanna be aoe jokes now we actually need stuff like a mortal strike now did you catch that
@@derrickhead no I caught that, it’s just you already have all the tools. 2/3 or more of Ret damage is magic in nature and bypasses armor, you have a single target stun and 3 gap closers, a 20y execute, multiple ranged attacks that allow Ret to be more a mid-range dps that can effectively kite out every other melee and most importantly for PvP - which seems to be the big complaint you have - it is still a team game.
If you can’t seal the deal then you either need to look at your comp, play better or swap classes.
@@James_Johnson79 a single target stun that overlaps with pretty much every class in the game 3 games closers which is what exactly and if it was so good why do people still want long arm of the law ?????????????????????? 20 yard execute is a joke why does our execute hit weaker than most classes medium damage abilities we can use 50 in a game and somebody still wont be dead ahile a monk even a healer monk press theirs once your gone a hunter once your gone a warrior once your gone and and when dks hit mid rand and long range nobody complains demonhunter hit mid and ling range nobody complains yet difference is their damage gets the job done ours dont the whole point is we use to be alot more bursty and we not now we medium weak now we always been mid range but before we use to do damage and people actually ran and you saying switch come ha fool we talking solo shuffle mf so next time you open yo mouth know the situation mf

ret is so weak compared to other specs in dragonflight... and now it seems its still underpowered in TWW. So disappointing.. Boomy and Ret have been my main since Cata, but its so hard to play Ret rn. After shield of vengeance, im forced to bubble or im dead, heals are weak and we're just so easy to kite if u can dispel or ss hand of freedom
What are you talking about? Ret is by far the strongest strength melee dps right now, even without the legendary. In M+ it's no contest at all either given the amount of uncapped AoE and burst damage it can do with so many personal defensives, a cleanse for afflicted and two ways of CCing incorporeal.
