@@trodat07 The difference is, that the guards have to investigate the scene without modern technology, and then track down fantasy adventurers, which are not exactly normal people.
@@MetalGamer666 True, there isn't a city-wide CCTV system... but they have spellcasters with all sort of tracking spells, creatures with supernatural senses and even the rangers are natural manhunters. That's the same reasoning I use to balance the justice system within D&D: jailed characters don't have right to a "telephone call" or a fair trial but, to compensate, there isn't a 24/7 surveillance nor any strict protocols about how to ward them. Very similar to an idealized Far West setting: the long arm of the law is very rude but you can always talk or blow your way out of jail.
@MathanSaralonde (...1 year later...) You raise a good point: Most powerfull spells require the sacrifice of components (even with arcane/divine_focus objects, aka "magic wands"); so taking those away from Wizards & Clerics [ the "legal" kind of spellcasters ] would ensure that they can not escape from imprisonment. . Sorcerors & Warlocks [ the "chaotic" kind of spellcasters ] are much more difficult to Secure, Contain & Protect (S.C.P.); since they are either "helped" by an unreachable Keter_Class extradimensional entity (Patron), or they themselves are mid_level relality warpers (Divine Origin). . The shapeshifting ability of druids makes them really difficult "to SCP" without extensive use of magic (or very complex mechanical systems). So the "easy" (unethical) way is to just put them in a steel strongbox [not completely sealed to allow some air/water to enter & urine to get out]; leaving them to survive on their own through a daily casting of Goodberry.
I think matt needs to settle down a bit and learn a little respect. He seems easily bored as if hes sitting through a lesson he hates. Taking up the seat of someone that might be thrilled with DnD. Keep up the good work bill lad!
The combination of the guitar music and the talkover has made it rather difficult to pay attention to the players' conversations in previous episodes, so I enjoyed seeing Tony take a break from playing his guitar...also because it allowed him to put more energy and focus into his character. After noticing the absence of background music, I thought Matthew might be less agitated and give rise to a more positive environment; however, that was not the case for this episode, but I have hope for the future. Matthew has so much potential if he learns how to filter his thoughts and be more respectful of those around him. I don't know how you do it, Bill, but I appreciate all the time and hard work you spend putting this together. Thanks!
Bill, let them go on with their criminal spree and murderhobo antics but, please, at some point summon out of nowhere an Inevitable to teach them a lesson.
It's good to see Bill teaching these new players how shopping for equipment works during role-play. However, in the future, each player should be instructed to read the player's handbook in their own time and plan out what gear their individual characters need so that shopping will be more straightforward and less hectic or erratic.
Although she hasn't roleplayed it, Neely and Bill did throw around the idea that she was kicked out of the church for some reason, I believe she took the outlander background. She may be having a crisis of faith.

Still, looking forward to the story progressing in the next episode, and as always some nice role playing from Tony, Carl and Beecher.
So many talking at the same time! I love this series but I kinda wish the kids could let everyone finish their sentences before their own things. As someone who's got impaired hearing, it's hard keeping track when multiple people talks at the same time.

This reminds me of dungeon of the mad mage and how players do quests to gain gold to prepare for the mega dungeon. But i just started dragon heist today. It went well
At the very beginning, Tony looks mad about something that happened. If you are not a thief/ rogue you should not be trying to steal anything. That is because your skills would not be as good and there is a higher chance that you are going to get caught. I love the fact that Neely, Beecher, and Skyla all ended up leaving the store. The Gaming Weekend will probably not be on video, unfortunately. This is due to some scheduling challenges and the fact that we would be about 3 hours away from the studio. I might try to record audio of it and do a podcast series. We shall see.
@@BillAllanWorld cool, I haven't seen anything yet of you playing on the chnnel! Hi Bill Have u heard of the box set of The world of Greyhawk. It was a great set and a world to play in. Maybe u could check it out sometime if u can find it. My main character was a lvl 36 Grey Elf Paladin/thief/illusionist. A bit of background he is he was born a thief but was raised by a much powerful paladin family but he started noticing through growing up that he was doing things like thief things. His parents finally told he that he was left on their doorstep as a baby cause his true parents was murdered by an orken tribe. Then he studied under an illusionist to become the multi class that he is.
Matt’s attitude made this game miserable. Negative comments at others and then very loudly whining about no action. Accusing the dungeon master of changing rules to mess with Matt, And then dictating he wasn’t going to use a game mechanic because it’s stupid. That’s not his choice. He just has a horrible attitude and it makes this season very painful to watch.
Agreed. Since they're kids, I cut them a lot of slack, but it gets worse every episode. It sounds like the rest of the table is getting tired of it as well. Tony flat out said, "Can you stop that?" when he was bouncing dice off the table. It was subtle in the beginning, but it's more blatant since he learned Sam was a Tabaxi. That being said, I recall Trixie acting along the same vein (albeit not to this degree). And she ended up being a pretty solid character by the end. So perhaps there's hope.
@@Garrett236 Really? Was Anna ever doing that kind of stuff? I didn't really notice that. I think its a shame because when Matthew does actually role play its usually good, like he has some nice ideas when he engages with the game.

Part of me wants to go 'of course they would go murder hobo as soon as carl ist back' but then again that's kinda unfair as he wasn't the one who started that shit... i hope there'll be consequences as this was really unneccessary, like come on, handaxes? He can deal more damage with his cantrips
33:02 oh ! Bill ! I feel your pain ! That look is one of pure suffering. If you do not have the authorities magically hunt down the perpetrators of this atrocity then you have an infinite supply of patience. I look forward to seeing the consequences of random murder and theft. Maybe something harsh would be a good life lesson for the people involved ? Perhaps Matt could be saved from committing an offence irl if he is shown that actions have consequences ? And really ? Never, ever accuse your ref of "pulling that shit", when he is pointing out a rule that you should know for your character, that is so rude. He would be OUT of my game session (given his disruptive and disrespectful behaviour so far), especially since it is his own failure to keep track of his own spell slots. Seriously, I have played with a 10 year old with ADHD, who was more respectful, and paid better attention, and engaged with the game more completely. I am viewing this as a valuable learning opportunity for "disruption boy", even if the lesson is "if you act in an antisocial manner then people will not want to associate with you". It could be good for him to be kicked out of the group. In my (limited) experience, kids who have been expelled from one school for bad behaviour are a lot better behaved at the next school because they have been made aware that there are consequences to their actions. Well done to Beecher & Tony, good roleplaying. Perhaps the other players could set an example of respect and support Beecher & Tony in keeping the game out of random murder and theft ?
I feel so sorry for Beecher and Carl....still love this show but, especially with the sound issues, this was really painful to watch. Will still keep liking watching and sharing, just trying to be constructive
Someone pointed out in another comment how Carl does nothing but pat himself on the back for derailing.... I think he's a good guy and a nice person etc but in the game yeah he's kinda a douche
Wild Magic is so much fun. I still prefer the old 2E version id the Wild Mage! One time, my wild surge unlocked a secret treasury room door that we hadn't found.
Did you watch the same episode I did? I'm sure he was in a mood. This reminds me of dungeon of the mad mage and how players do quests to gain gold to prepare for the mega dungeon. But i just started dragon heist today. It went well
yep
Silence is golden and speaking is silver, you learn more with a closed mouth and an open mind
that old dragon born guy SO ANNOYING
yeah
At the very beginning, Tony looks mad about something that happened.
If you are not a thief/ rogue you should not be trying to steal anything. That is because your skills would not be as good and there is a higher chance that you are going to get caught.
I love the fact that Neely, Beecher, and Skyla all ended up leaving the store.
Tony I want to hit on the waitress, that is me whenever I am playing D&D when I am entering into a tavern always hitting on the barmaids, serving wenches.
Bill is the goat for navigating such bs. All praise be to Bill.
30:48 Beecher is sooooooooooo done!!! Haha! These kids, smh...Vusaq bless 'em- they need it!
Wow, can not believe that I've caught up! I don't know how I'm going to survive the waiting game til the next session. Good thing there's a whole channel for me to check out! Aaaaaaand, if I remember correctly you mentioned doing a 30 hour DnD session in early December, will that be shared in anyway on the channel, Bill?
The Gaming Weekend will probably not be on video, unfortunately. This is due to some scheduling challenges and the fact that we would be about 3 hours away from the studio.
I might try to record audio of it and do a podcast series. We shall see.
@@BillAllanWorld cool, I haven't seen anything yet of you playing on the chnnel! And 30 hours sounded intense compared to Matts' complaint about how long were they going to play for about an hour into the game.
It would be cool to see an AP version of DnDwhss where the kids get to play with more experienced players to see how the game can be played when you have an idea of what you're doing.
Bill Allan aww. I heard that and thought you were going to record it also. Would love to see a live stream session with your friends.
@@vikcorp3907 I know! I would have loved to have seen that!
@@simonecummings9157 great idea!
This group is soo much like my group of a wizard, sorcerer, warlock, and ranger. Heavily unbalanced with one character with so much damage potential.
Agreed
Hi Bill
Have u heard of the box set of The world of Greyhawk.
Yes, once upon a time I had all of the boxed sets. I still have Greyhawk.
Yeah and this throwing the dice, slamming the table?? That shit is just plain disruptive
Vik Corp agreed...
Vik Corp : Game has taken a total dive.Bill has to punish thieves and murders.
Matt: "How many people are working?" , "We can kill everybody" - (CUT SHOOT) 33:00 zoom in camera #1, @ Bills face is PRICELESS !!! HAHAHAHA Murder Hobo's S3E6 pt2 HAHAHAHA !!!
LoL
Part of me wants to go 'of course they would go murder hobo as soon as carl ist back' but then again that's kinda unfair as he wasn't the one who started that shit... i hope there'll be consequences as this was really unneccessary, like come on, handaxes? He can deal more damage with his cantrips
I guess I'm on the minority because I think its hilariously awesome when a group goes murder hobo 😂
33:02 oh !
Bill with a beanie is looking like an inmate. Like the good hearted sidekick to the main character in a prison movie xD
Sorry it had to be said :P
LoL!! That's my winter cap. Our studio is always freezing cold, so in winter time I basically wear that hat all day long.
The group went nuts this episode
It is so funny the way the situation in the shop got so out of hand.
yes
I feel so sorry for Beecher and Carl....still love this show but, especially with the sound issues, this was really painful to watch.
Will still keep liking watching and sharing, just trying to be constructive
Someone pointed out in another comment how Carl does nothing but pat himself on the back for derailing.... I think he's a good guy and a nice person etc but in the game yeah he's kinda a douche
Why the fuck you feel sorry for Carl? Everything was fine (legally) until he showed up.
@meloyello42 but he didn't cause the illegal activities.
yes indeed
Also bill get the wondercrafter on the computer it's good for building large dnd maps.
Wild Magic is so much fun. I still prefer the old 2E version id the Wild Mage! One time, my wild surge unlocked a secret treasury room door that we hadn't found.
agreed
I was so scared when I was listening and their sounds started to cut out while I was using my headphones in this one specific place.
Each episode is awesome haha
I hope Matt doesn't live in a neighborhood with stray cats or small animals.
Beecher is such a mood this episode.
Did you watch the same episode I did? I'm sure he was in a mood. He seems to enjoy the game as a whole, but has to ensure the crap storm created by Matt and Carl, and the dispassionate, lackluster play of several more at the table. His mood is totally justified.
Having said that, I understand that, for most of them, they just started playing. Hopefully they improve.
@@paulhalcott5824 I know its 4 years later.... but I gotta correct you. Let me be your slang translator. Paul you and the other dude are saying the exact same thing. When someone says "thats a mood" it means that it's something relatable/they feel the same way. Not insulting him by saying he's moody or whiny or whatever.
Valid
Bill do you recomend xzanathars guide to semi experience players.
I think Xanathar's Guide is worth buying. It has a lot of cool stuff.
my first thought when the video started was "why does Tony look so depressed?"
Ha! Indeed.
Just when I thought this party weren't murder hobos...
Hang in there...it gets better.
So Medrine is like George Foreman?
Exactly!! LOL!!
CN Matt: I can kill everyone and loot everything
automatically becomes CE and becomes a villain 🦹🏻♂️
What happend with the wild magic surge the one from the last episode? Was it the Rock to the face or did I miss something ?
Too many rolls happened in that store. That was ridiculous lol
Ps: it will be amazing if infighting doesnt occur in the near future. I have nearly killed party members for similar matters. Tony and Matt are extremely disruptive
yeah kind of true
Should I watch B- Team first before continuing this season?
B-Team comes in after season 3. It's like an interlude to season 4 (The Medusas).
LOL. Matthew...the Travis Willingham of DnDwHSS.
"Why do we need to go shopping? I just want to kick some ass." LOL
LoL
Lol shaky audio this time around but i still love u guys
Yeah
this session is basically my group they started a robbery at a bank but I'm neutral good so i stole their masks but they realized in the bank so they killed them all...
are mission was to talk to the mayor
yes
The red star tattoo means the person is a gang captain?
Does that mean that the little kid in season two was also a gang captain?
Block and tackel is for.liftimg heavey loads, 4x the weight you can lift. Not fishing gear.
Wtf happened at the beginning of this episode? The cut after the dice and then everyone looks miserable :(
Not sure, don't remember.
Caltrops are cool
Also, I think Matt is doing fine. A bit of chaos is good; keeps the DM on his toes :)
How much do dungeoners pack cost???
phb
THEY HAVE ROPE!
yup
he would never be allowed in my games acting like that
yeah
Why am I always late to the party
Come back and rewatch!
what about alinments matt murdered 2 innocent people for nothing he had money to pay
yep
Matthew and base 10 math
yes
These kids are supposed to be good aligned characters😡!!!!!
yep
... Wtf... 😆🤣😆
47:20 Wait WTF? did he just say that he wants to use spells as cantrips? and basically says like F u DM im going to do what i want.. I have yet to play my first real D&D game(going to soon) but I hope you make it hard on them for that kind of behaviour in the next episodes xD
I am not a hatefull person at all but I feel like he is just disrespecting Bill/the game now
Ah, you shall see...
third!
bravo
