Great looking Dart, we found with better traction, flashing the covertor gave better 1/4 times and speeds. Not worried about the reaction time. Plus 90/10s on the front and 50/50s on the rear transfered the weight and started lifting the front wheels. The front shocks can be easily changed at the track. Bigger rear ARB helped to. Like you we removed the front ARB. Our s/b 68 Dart is now running low 10s in the 1/4 with a 100 hp gas and high 10s without. And we have a full cage now to. Good luck. Watching with interest.
Excellent work. Looks like your having a lot of fun. Seems to be running nice and straight without having to fight it down the track. Your hard work is paying off. So happy for u man.
I loved my '67 Sport Special, grandma gave it to me the day I got my license, and she bought it new off the showroom floor. Only had the Slant six 225ci, but running light to light on the cruise, it rarely lost. It could pull away from a 240Z on the straights up on the top end, but they could out corner me.
@@SimpsonsSpeedShop Another racer on UA-cam put race discs on his S10 and said it made a big difference, also some lighter weight front wheels. I was wondering if you could do that? I know you ride it on the street but it seems like it's becoming more and more a race car which is cool. I'd keep it able to go on the street but it's such a beautiful car personally I'd just race it. I also think using an electric water pump would free up some more HP. You’ve got a great channel brother!! Wish you were down in the states!! You’d be an outstanding addition to our growing family down here and we’ve got good tracks everywhere to choose from and a few crappy ones too if you want it to feel more like home............ and I don’t mean that in any kind of bad way either, it’s just that you don’t have the best designed track there to run on so just be careful man.
Ya k not the best that’s for sure. But beggars can’t be choosers. It’s the only track around. And it will be gone in few years now. Property sold and will be turned into condos. Then I will have to get a trailer and travel far to race.
Good day at the track. Great job !!!!! 60s are getting better and the car is quicker. Can't ask for more than that. Testing and tuning only way to get better. One suggestion though, you may want to invest in a set of light weight front wheels and tires. Those Cragers weigh a ton. If you look at your front end when you leave it comes up really quick until it tries to lift the tire then it bounces which unloads the rear suspension. I think with a lighter tire and rim the front will continue to rise keeping the rear chassis loaded and improve your sixty by a lot maybe a tenth or more. Overall though great job and great video. Please keep them coming, I look forward to them.
Love yr car you got it running nicely my pop owns & operates an auto machine shop here in phx. years ago he traded a nasty sb chev with a nash 5 spd which his buddy put in a 55 chev for a 69-340-4spd barricuda he threw a 340 together out of spare parts he had around which resulted in the same deal only1/4 mile it dipped to far in the 11s so we adjustted the throttle back to a 12 flat but were fixing to drag it out & start having fun with it again......love old mopars
I think your car is vary nice . Just a great mussel car nice color too. Wow with a cage it will be better but slow it too. But a shot on NOS 50 off the line and 300 down the track that will make times quicker. You could be in the hi 9 sec or low 10s. Nice car !
I'd like to see a Hoosier 30x9 radial (29.5 version) on the rear, a lightweight 15x3.5 rim up front with a drag tire, then we can take a look at the trans and converter. Your a great kid keep the good work.

Be careful dropping your shift point to 6400, the car may go faster! It sounds like you're still hitting the rev limiter a little bit. Hitting that limiter is slowing the run down. Nice job! Car looks and sounds awesome. You may be able to adjust your suspension a bit to allow for the 'flashing' of the converter too... a little tire spin with those big meats you have under there means it wants to launch even harder! Looking forward to the next video!
Tough loss, your opponent chopped the tree down for sure. Mathematically you had a shot if the 60' had complied... So the real question now, do you put a bar in the car or slow it down?
@@SimpsonsSpeedShop Im not into drag racing but my first car when i was 17 was a 64 GTO, so i started drag racing then at fremont dragstrip in nor cal, but then got into stock cars and never looked back. I like the 68 mopars because of the side markers. I have a 49, 68,69 and 73 plymouth A bodies, so ill always have a soft spot for them.
Looks like a lot of fun. After watching the in car camera I noticed that your front suspension may need some attention. Looks like something is loose when you launch and a wobble when you are slowing down at the end of the track. I could be wrong, I had a problem like that and my idler arm and Pittman were worn. Just my 2 cents.
I hear you brother. The local drag strips around here are closing down left and right. But the track owner should do something about the shut down area. Move them old cars and those concrete blocks weigh 2 tons a piece I know because I have made hundreds of them. Dump a couple loads of cheap creek sand down because sand doesn't compact and atleast give a guy having a bad day a fighting chance. From the outside looking in. I wouldn't want to see anybody tear their cars all to Hell or get hurt even Chevy driver's. HaHaHa HA I'm kidding chevy...Be safe
Haha no doubt man. I doubt it will improve anytime too soon. It’s primal ya circle track we just use front strip that why it’s so short. Ya we don’t chevys getting hurt ether. Haha
~I really like your videos man...I thought I was subscribed already?! Am now!! ~If I am not working on cars,I am watching them on youtube lol,my addiction to Mopar! ~Ever go to Mission Raceway?
They probably want you to have a cage just because of that shutdown area. What a disaster waiting to happen. Love the Dart tho. Got a 70 Swinger myself.
Whoops you got Power Steering Yet lol ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, look at Oil pressure it closely it looks like it was dropping as you were accelerating. oh yeah that smoke filled sky reached Maryland just the other day and has not left.Oh yep same thing when i ran my car it dropped .3 when i took off flex fan, the water pump , later due belts kept rolling off, I never flashed converter but everyone told me that is what you are supposed to do. best 60ft was 1.59 area only 12,2 with stock type engine back then. IF they let you run all out 60ft? or maybe to the second timer then slow down
Tire pressure needs to go up 12-16, leave at 1800..... Let it Flash!! Hit the tire Harder, if it spins... fix the rear with more tire pressure, shock or caltrac adjustment. If your hell bent to leave that high put a two step on the brake pedal. Foot brake car is faster taking a run at the converter. Nice Mopar
Looks like you really have it going on! Learning a lot just watching. I'm working on a Dart myself, can't seem to find a right angle oil filter adapter for my 360, where did you get yours?
Wow" where are you racing at the back of Wal-Mart The track actually dead ends at a pile of concrete blocks a dirt pile dukes of hazard jump or tree's.. no wonder tech guys want you to have a cage. HaHaHa HA

Just my 2 cents.
it seems to drive fine. The track isn’t exactly flat thanks for watching
Nice runs cool car. You should only really need a ROLL BAR which is good to 10.00 in 1/4 mile Cage is good to 8.59 in the 1/4 mile
Haha
Nice wheel work got the light on point bro.out there doin it.too much
Thanks bro and thanks for watching
~I really like your videos man...I thought I was subscribed already?! Am now!!
~If I am not working on cars,I am watching them on youtube lol,my addiction to Mopar!
~Ever go to Mission Raceway?
Right on man. Haven’t been to mission yet. Next year
What is 385 Feet? Not used to these kind of drags. What is the 660 ft equivelent?
660 feet is an 1/8th mile.
@@GrantOakes Understood! But who, besides you run on a 385'? 660 is pretty standard and then the 1/4. what is you 1/8 equivalent?
They probably want you to have a cage just because of that shutdown area. What a disaster waiting to happen. Love the Dart tho. Got a 70 Swinger myself.
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Sweet! Cheers bud.
👍🏻
Whoops you got Power Steering Yet lol ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, look at Oil pressure it closely it looks like it was dropping as you were accelerating.
oh yeah that smoke filled sky reached Maryland just the other day and has not left.Oh yep same thing when i ran my car it dropped .3 when i took off flex fan, the water pump , later due belts kept rolling off, I never flashed converter but everyone told me that is what you are supposed to do. best 60ft was 1.59 area only 12,2 with stock type engine back then. IF they let you run all out 60ft? or maybe to the second timer then slow down
Yeah that in car cam shows him turn so easy I guess I'm going to have to get me some power steering , it's so nice though with only an alternator belt
You're having too much fun and that's what it's all about!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Tire pressure needs to go up 12-16, leave at 1800..... Let it Flash!! Hit the tire Harder, if it spins... fix the rear with more tire pressure, shock or caltrac adjustment. If your hell bent to leave that high put a two step on the brake pedal. Foot brake car is faster taking a run at the converter. Nice Mopar
Looks like you really have it going on! Learning a lot just watching. I'm working on a Dart myself, can't seem to find a right angle oil filter adapter for my 360, where did you get yours?
I did have but I removed it. Not need with tti headers
Nice Dart!...That dragstrip looks alittle sketchy tho lol
The way the car is leaving shows that the converter is really working. I'm wondering what a similar combo in a 408 cubic inch variant would do??
All depends on where the motor makes power, but it would be good.

No arguments here
Wow" where are you racing at the back of Wal-Mart The track actually dead ends at a pile of concrete blocks a dirt pile dukes of hazard jump or tree's.. no wonder tech guys want you to have a cage. HaHaHa HA
Yes. Old track. Only one around
Couldn't agree more.....I can't believe someone hasn't shut that track down....very sketchy at best!!
Nothing wrong with building a proper cage and using all the safety gear. Tracks are already lenient considering the speed.
Dam they need to change the track to just 60ft racing!!! But that's the only option you got...street racing would be safer then 🤣😂
Gary Gary That’s BC... all of Ecotopia ends in the trees.
Man that thing is fast!
Faster every time out! Thanks for watching
Good job.
Thanks!
Damn brother chopping them trees down
Helllassas yaaaaa tree choppin bro
