    some pretty indepth servicing. you really take care of the details for us viewers. awesome. I hope this video will help many first time front shock owners and not make them scared of cost/complexity. its better to service then to keep riding bad and bouncy and never feel propper dampening.

    Great video man! I've been inside the spring side of mine but not on the damper side yet. I upped my spring rate on the spring side with a rock shox boxxer spring, they seem to fit pretty well in there.

      @@vegasromaniac You can remove rubber things that are inside springs, it will make fork softer. Bicycle version has only one rubber, they added second one for Sur-Ron to compensate the weight.

    So you decided to not add oil, just grease? I have just replaced outer seals on mine with seals for Boxxer 35mm, they fit perfect. They are much better quality and should keep oil inside. It is too cold to ride, so I have not tested properly, but so far legs are clean, no oil leaks.

    Ill be easily able to service my fork. I was searching how to do it because when I adusted my air presure earlier today, oil cam out of the aire valve. Hope nothing is damaged in there. Feel free to tell me what you think is going on with the oil in air chamber.

    i have kke factory bf-34 and it has no air valve inlet, but it claims to be air-oil fork.. it has almost identical construction.. now i am doing first maintenance on it and i am struggling to disassemble the shock inner tube.. it has some kind of sealed shock tube inside the inner leg ... it appears to move smoothly but it has low pressure..is there any way how to add pressure to such system??? i am struggling to find any info anywhere.. thanx 🙏🏻

    I know this video is old but it has gave me a lot off info I need at the minute… my forks basically loosing air the forks have done 200 miles if that no harsh riding… I took the forks off today the spring side is fine my other side is loosing air fast if I put it by hand it’s fine when it’s under compression on the bike it’s lasting 5 minutes then the air is gone I’m puzzled and planning on opening them tomorrow hopefully there is no damage and is just my valve any ideas feel free to help any help welcome

    • @peedee4065
      @peedee4065 8 місяців тому

      Incorrect. That is what the piston is for that he pushed to the very bottom with the red rod. It's a compensator piston that is free floating in that damper tube. He wasn't clear enough about the actual arrangement. It's at 2:30 The schrader valve screws into the black tube, which goes to the end of the damper tube, and is fixed to the damper tube. Inside the damper tube is the compensator piston. When you add air it goes between the compensator piston and the bottom of the damper tube. The key is that when you assemble everything (we're at the top of the fork now) you need to push the damper piston (different from the compensator piston, it's the one that has the shims on it) all the way down before you screw it all together onto the damper tube. 5:56 He is doing it but not telling you how critical it is. The fork top cap is pushed down against the damper tube cap before he screws the damper tube cap onto the damper tube. IF he had the fork top cap up and extended away from the damper tube cap as he screwed it all together THAT is when you would get the hydrolock condition. Video is helpful but he's going super quick and not explaining the full architecture of the fork nor the improper ways to assemble it.
      I am 90% sure I am correct in my understanding. I have not opened this DNM fork myself, but I have opened at least a handful of other forks (bicycle and motorcycle) over the years and have made sure I understand the fluid flow and operation on every single one.

  • @kountatalk
