Exploring a Ruined Hotel on a Tropical Island

- We decided to re-upload this video in full, instead of it being in two parts. We're not sure if this is a good thing in terms of 'the algorithm' but anyway, it seems most of you prefer a single long video. I know many of you have already seen both parts, so we don't expect a lot of views on this video, but wanted leave it here for the record.

Hey everyone! Happy holidays! As mentioned in the description, we reuploaded this video in one part, since it seems that's what most of you prefer. Anyway, sorry we are slow to post. It's been a crazy couple months and we haven't had much time for editing new videos. We shot three more in Hachijojima as well as a few more in Tokyo recently. We will get them out soon, so please be patient! :)
Happy new year Lukasz and EyeXplore crew and all guests
@@robertleeimages Thank you!! :)
I was very happy to see the full edit. With the shorter version, you all seemed a bit rushed, and left so many great photo opportunities behind. I would be all over the place, every room like a kid in a toy store. This video shows more you all doing just that.
It astounds me how humans leave so much valuable stuff behind. I’ve been in an abandoned hospital, mansion, old-folks home, and they all have that just bugged out look; like everyone there dropped what they where doing, and left. I think we are fascinated by the desolation of what once a very busy, populated place. There is some beauty in decay, and also photographing it as it is now. Come back at a later time, and much could change. Very cool location.
Glad you enjoyed this one! Yeah, ruins like this are so fascinating. They leave so much to the imagination too, allowing us to come up with stories about them and how they came to be that way. :)
I am very jealous of you going into a abandoned building. It’s something I have always wanted to do. So cool.
Try to do it some day! But be careful! :)
I think these days the abandoned Japan aesthetics fascinates me more than the megalopolis Japan aesthetics. I think I kinda already seek some sort of desolation vibes avoiding people on my photography, so it makes sense.
Yeah, it makes sense to me too! I search for these kinds of things even in the city! :)
I think that what appeals to photographers with decaying structures etc is that it isnt the normal view we get of things like this.. in this state of decay so its intriguing.
Yeah, very true!! :)
Being able to shoot at 1/20, that IBIS is insane!
It's pretty good, haha! :)
Wonder and intrigue would be one of the reasons folk love to photograph abandoned/decaying places. Another, for me at least, is the want to archive things, be it big or small, intact or falling apart, even things most people find to be "useless". I personally find it very important. Things may not have been part our personal past or history but it was for others out there.
Before I start rambling I'll just leave it there. lol. Cheers
I think you are right. Lee Chapman is a photographer here in Japan who certainly embodies this ethos. :)
I prefer longer videos bro! Here's to hoping you continue to make them longer.
Thank you! We have another ruin exploration video on the way! :)
Reminds me of all the dreams I used to have of being in moldy abandoned apartments and malls, except falling apart and green. I think my dreams were in Malaysia.
Haha, cool dreams! :)
It's a romance movie, because eye loved it!
Haha, thank you! :)
Great video! So much texture and detail I wonder how your photos would look in B&W.
Thanks!! Probably pretty cool! We shot a black and white video recently and will posted it eventually (we have a bit of a backlog), so you'll get to see! :)
Its great photos especially with the temple where you bought the cookie dough bread 😊 and i love the black/white grudge photos of the wall. I find Monochrome fits good to smoke filled fotos you took!! My question are there different types of Monochrome like in film
Thank you so much!! Glad you enjoyed the monochrome shots! :)
will patiently wait for the other videos from this location! very interesting spot, any photographer will surely have a ball here. haha. happy new year, Lukasz and team!
Thanks!! The next videos are from the island but not this hotel. However, we do go to ANOTHER hotel in one of the videos too. :)
Fantastic video. Love these with the two of you playing off each other. Content is outstanding. Great images. ❤❤❤
Thank you so much!! :)
11:55 got me 🤣
Haha :)
I don't think the video is too long :) Happy New Year
Thank you!! Happy new year to you too! :)
I found this video on Odysee.
Came here to drop a comment and say nice one. :D
Thank you so much!!! :)
Great video 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you! :)
Nice change of pace
Thank you!! :)
Happy New Year, Lukasz! Repost of this type not seen very often. Guess I’m in the minority about post length preference - can always pause and resume in YT Library I suppose. Most importantly, your content never disappoints. Cheers!
Thank you so much! Actually, when I asked on the other video, most people said they prefer a long cut. Hence, the re-upload. Happy new year! :)
Hope you're staying safe over there, cases and death tolls have jumped massively apparently
Haven't felt it at all. Life continues as normal for me. But thank you! :)
Great video👍🏻
Thanks!! :)
Just commenting to help out your algorithm. As always love the videos.
Thank you!! :)
I liked the longer format in this case. I think just let the content dictate how long the video turns out. This is such a cool place.
Thank you so much! :)
I think in the case of a focused subject such as this a longer "special" type video works better, saving the shorter ones for your more standard content - really enjoyed this and hope you can do more urban exploration of abandoned sites in and around Japan
Thank you so much!! We will do more! :)
I‘m still waiting for the pool … 😉
Haha, we never did find it! :)
Looking forward to more videos from that location :o)) btw: what´s that bagpack of yours? Cheers
Nothing. I'm just using it to carry the tripods. It's also the bag I use to travel, so when I'm on the plane it's just full of clothes and a laptop. :)
Did you make more videos on that island?
Yes!! Three more in fact! Just having a tough time getting through editing them these days. We were there back in September, but the last 3 months have been extremely busy.
this place looks like from last of us
Yes, totally!! :)
is this the location for the new last of us series?
Hehe, it totally could be! :)
Who is your companion?
Chica! She has been on this channel before. :)
@@EYExplore Now I’m even more curious!
I prefer 2 separate shorter videos. 35 min is a lot of time to spend...
You can just watch it in parts though! I watch a lot of long videos on UA-cam. I just paused, bookmark it or save it to a playlist and get back to it later. UA-cam remembers where you left off. The thing is that is we post the video in two parts, the people who WOULD watch the whole thing cannot. And they might miss part 2. :)
