Yes. Once you're back to stock you've got a standard PS3. Even with the modded firmware you can connect to PSN, but you do need to be careful that you mask the modded OS.

You simply need to be able to create an FAT32 USB drive and save a file onto it in the correct folder. If your computer/tablet/phone can do that you're fine.

@@BytesNBits hello! It goes black during every process, but seems to actually finish the process. Weird. I discovered that the monitor I am using (which was advertised as ps3 compatible) a mini hdmi. It goes black during the hdmi recognition process, so I was like “omfg I have no idea what actually worked and what didn’t.” I managed to get ofw back on it and hopefully tomorrow I’ll try to put 4.90 cfw on it on a different tv. When I tried the bluray player, it didn’t work. When I out ofw on it, the bluray player worked. What the fook is going on? I tried multiman, black screen, tried to do a file restore and the other on, database restore, then multiman worked, turned it off, next time I tried multiman didn’t work. I put 4.91.2 beta 10 on. Should I go win hen? I have no idea what is going on. If it was the monitor this whole time, I’m gonna be so effing angry. My slim ps3 never had problems on that monitor. So idk. Sorry you had to read all that.

I guess something you've installed is blocking the update process. Usually the custom firmware, etc. will let you force an update.

Bob, could you reconnect on PSN after the process without deactivating the PS3 from the PSN just like you mentioned on 15:20?

I think some games install themselves fully onto the hard drive, especially if you use the package files.

That's a strange one. You might need to re install the PS3HEN patch as something has gone wrong.
How to install game saves?
I have hen and when I go to game save utility I found 2 games that don't show up on play menu so how to get them?
The game saves may be from disk based games?? If you install backups for those games you should get the saves working.

You can reflash the same version to clear out the custom firmware.

Yes, but you'll need to re install all of your Homebrew apps.

You can usually install new firmware over the top of another one. A clean install just makes sure there are no incompatibilities.

I get a black screen when installing anything. I’ve had a horror show experience over the past two days. I’m ready to take a hammer to my ps3.
