The only thing I would disagree with is the walnut oil. Walnut oil goes rancid within days not months. The closer we eat the food the way God made it and intended it the better off we are. The more man puts his hands on it/processes the worse it is for us.

I do this too. When I was younger, my mom would eat salads with lemon and a little salt as her dressing. a couple of weeks ago, I was at a Mexican restaurant and had a salad that came with avocado, the waiter forgot my dressing so I said screw it, I squeezed a lime in it, added a bit of salt, and mashed up the avocado in the salad. That changed the way I will always eat salads lmao, its so much better than dressing.

Actually, if you have SIBO or candida (usually people have both), walnuts, spinach, broccoli and chia seeds spell trouble and lead to a lot of chronic inflammation. I can eat almonds, but walnuts have too much mold on them and are also too acidic. The lectins and other anitnutrients and phytotoxins in broccoli and spinach make them absolutely disasterous for me. I pass out from leaky gut/cytokine/histaminic flare ups and massive inflammation if I eat even a small portion of these. If you have chronic fatigue, you should try to avoid these food to see if it helps with flare ups. I handle most fruit sugar very well but have difficulty with grains for the same reasons as above. Carnivore changed my life. After four months, I started experimenting with other foods and discovered that fruit agrees with me. Each person has to find what works for them. If you suffer from chronic inflammation, you owe it to yourself to eat carnivore for a few months.

Everything sounds great. For dressing salad, forget commercially bottled stuff. Just use delicious healthy mix of raw organic Apple Cider Vinegar, Extra Virgin Olive Oil and freshly squeezed lemon/lime. Along with walnuts, also add to the salad Macadamia, Pecans, Brazilian Nuts, Pistachios and peeled Almonds. Don't forget to toss in some seeds - chia, pumpkin, flax etc.

Make my own salad dressing. Store bought have too much sugar in them.
3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/4 cup white wine vinegar ( or red, whatever you choose)
    Parsley ( or Italian herbs/spices)
    Lots of garlic
    Salt and pepper
Shake and leave for half hour then enjoy.
This dressing is a classic Italian vinagraitte used by Italians and tastes so good.
    Enjoy

I toast walnuts. I spread them on a metal tray without any added oil and bake them in my toaster oven for about 7 minutes at 350 degrees or until you can smell their fragrance. Be careful though, they can go from “ready” to burnt in just a few seconds.

    |Make your own salad dressing! Takes just a few minutes and is so much better for you than anything in a bottle; 2 parts Extra Virgin Olive Oil plus 1 part either fresh lemon juice or apple cider vinegar and a little dijon mustard to emulsify. Add it all to an empty jar, shake and voila. Easy, cheap and completely healthy.

Cutting out all the positives of eggs and other proteins by eliminating them from your diet causes bigger health issues in the long run. Good fats, quality proteins count. I have battled my weight all my adult years. This is the only way my body responds by losing weight. I have believed in low carb, high fat for decades, before high fat was popular, my family thought I was crazy. I don't stick to it strictly, thus it has taken me years to at least get down to the weight I am at now, a 70 plus loss. I now have family members that are doing it with great results also. I am confident if I incorporate the MCT oil on a regular basis, (because I have only used it occasionally), I will start losing even more! ; )

We all deal with feeling terrible the first couple of weeks on a diet. A lot of that could very well be the withdrawal symptoms you get from the sugar addiction.

I ALWAYS make my own dressing with olive oil and apple cider vinegar, salt and pepper.

  • @Bubbaluv8

Thank you again! As always, great info. I never climbed on the anti-egg/butter/milk/low-fat bandwagon. LOTS of eggs, reasonable butter and milk, I have a great ticker. HOWEVER - I source from people and farms I know, who have well-cared animals that I know, see, visit. I get business cards at Farmers Markets and go straight to farm when I can. I also do cat rescue (TNR) and I make farm connections through that. It's worth the effort to find and keep these sources. I pay above the prices they ask, which are usually less than the grocery store. I believe that the less hands that have handled my food, the closer it comes to me from the earth it's supposed to come from, the higher quality it will be and the less mishandling it's likely to go through. I recognize and respect that many people have sensitivities and allergies to some foods, and I leave that to them as good reason to stay away from what their body cannot handle. For me, eggs from happy, well cared for chickens are one of the healthiest and humane proteins we can eat. I share my eggs with my pets, thoroughly researched for myself and them, as part of well rounded, balanced diet for each species. The membrane between the shell and egg has a high concentration of glucosamine, chondroitin, and collagen. And yes - I do grind and add the shells to my coconut flour when I'm being really ambitious! I've made avocados a need rather than a luxury. I try to start my meal planning from the salad first, and expand out from there, rather than the salad as a side. I've been making my own salad dressing for 15 years or so - sooo good, and I make it in pretty bottles with pretty ingredients. Nothing like that at the grocery store. I've never used MCT oil, I'm hearing so much about it from good sources, I have to get some. I always appreciate meal ideas and recipes to expand my healthy choices. I especially appreciate in-depth but understandable explanations and break downs of nutrition in our foods.

don;t forget organ meats and other cuts of saturated fats/high cholesterol and calories. I never count calories. When I became carnivore, I needed about 2500 or more calories a day and I weigh only 115 lbs soaking wet! As I slowly corrected by long-term vitamin and mineral deficiencies by avoiding leafy greens and other phytotoxic heavy foods (which i am unable to digest safely as well as total elimination of grains and sugars), eventually I only needed half that amount of calories and I have cut all my portions in half. Essential to consume on a low carb diet is a LOT of saturated fat from grass fed meat. I drink heavy cream and cook with it and cultured butter every day, as well as olive oils and coconut oils. I eat a lot of seed butters. I'd say 70% of my diet is some form of fat. This is how I get amazing amounts of sustained energy every day and achieve very low body fat healthily. I am generally 11 to 13 percent fat and 16 per cent is high for me. I run and do weight bearing exercises twice a day, in addition to daily streching. I also eat fruit now: avocados and tomatoes and apples! Eat organ meats every day, if you can. it helps if you enjoy them, however I understand a lot of folks don't. That's too bad, because without them you can't really safely be in a zero or low carb diet, IMO.

Thank you Dr Becky for your expertise and clear guidance. 👍✨
Can you throw guidance on my dietary needs with regard to hypothyroidism. I’m a mature 70yr old lady and finding satiety is the key to staying away from excess carbohydrates and sugars.
Fortunately I enjoy certain salads in the warmer weather especially that are easy to digest.
I use Olive oil and avocado oil with added nuts to my diet Brazil’s, walnuts and almonds in small quantities.
I’ve looked at diets for hypothyroidism, anti inflammatory Keto, intermittent fasting to name a few! I have to be careful with brassicas,
soya, bean sprouts, some grains, omitting legumes. I have to go steady with the onion family garlic etc...
Onion and garlic are good for home made vegetable soup, mildly spiced but I have to go steady on root vegetables.
Please can you give some of your expertise on things mentioned.
I used slippery elm, gia seed puddings made with organic almond milk, took supplements L- glutamine, cut down on meats, dairy cut out alcohol completely because of a non alcoholic liver and my hypothyroidism.
Constipation has been an issue. Fresh lemon in warm water help with peristalsis in the mornings.
I do have pure organic coffee in the morning which also helps kick start my day.
Thankyou again. Your videos are excellent. 🌸
