Thanks, you covered a lot of ground in 30 min. Couple of points: 1. No coding is necessary to use page builder like Elementor or BB in Oxygen. Just add element: Components>WordPress Content>Page Contents. It will populate necessary code in the code block. Although it's easy enough to paste this code in HTML code block to call page/post content: 2. At 6:40 add on element didn't propagate at the bottom because you were not at the bottom of DOM. New element will always show up bellow the element you select in DOM or canvas. It should be mentioned that Oxygen does not have native support for WordPress menus. Menus are designed visually, like any other part of your site. For WordPress menu, drop-downs and other complex, multilevel menus, you can use a menu plugin like Max Mega Menu. Another missing feature is revisions or undo/redo history or auto save. Hopefully Soflyy team will add that in the future. Even so I find Oxygen to be the best interface out there for visual website design. You can get things looking exactly how you want and without unnecessary bloat that comes with themes and frameworks. Overall I'm happy switching our site from Headway: sfroyalthaispa.com
I have already built 3 sites with Oxygen and I must say that it is amazing... still need improve its features, especially the offer of more headers/footers templates and a very tight integration with plugins like ACF, PODS and Toolset. The fact that you can add your own favourite page builder, I personally like Page Builder Sandwich by the way, make Oxygen one of the most powerful tool for WordPress development and yet easy to use for complete beginners.
Thanks a lot, very interesting option. In what theme are you working? Regular 2017? Does it matter? Or is Oxygen a theme really? What's the point of adding Elementor if Oxygen already is a Page Builder? (Apart from loving E).
Annette Kempers its theme agnostic, so it doesn't matter what you have installed or activated. Oxygen is more of a framework I guess as opposed to being a page builder or theme. As for adding in Elementor (or any page builder) you could use Oxygen to do the layout or template structure for your key pages and the leverage the ease of Elementor to flesh out the content. Great if you want a ton of design flexibility and then use the power of visual page builders to create your content in a familiar plugin.. I guess the best part is the flexibility on offer in Oxygen without reliance on a theme.
scp0906 I prefer Oxygen because it is a one time fee of $99.00 that allow you to use the plugin for unlimited sites with lifetime updates while Beaver Themer require an annual fee and has an initial cost of $147.00. BT looks nice but I believe that the two do pretty much the same things. I know for sure that The Oxygen team are working hard to improve the offer of more headers and footers and also an easier integration with ACF, Toolset and similar. Without forgetting that you can use Oxygen with your favourite page builder. So a lot of flexibility here.
I appreciate it Mr. Charlton.....as a beginner to WP page builders, I would like to know which is most comprehensive and worth spending money on for the long term. I sent you an email in regards to this about 4-5 days ago.
Discover Roatan Excursions & Tours to be honest, if you're looking into page builders I would look at Elementor free to see how you get on with it and upgrade to the Pro version if you like it. It's fast, powerful and incredibly flexible. The learning curve isn't bad at all and you can get great looking pages with minimal effort. Take a look at some of the videos on the channel to get an idea of how it works..
JoeGator23 I think it depends , but I would go for Elementor. I think oxygen is nice if you know all the scripts used in WordPress , such as Java and PHP.
Thanks for the reply, Simon. I already have Elementor with GeneratePress, so I am wondering the advantages. Just getting started with designing. Looking for the best available software and this has a nice intro price. Not really sure that I need it at the moment. Would be nice if Elementor went white label for clients... Thanks for the latest info and the demo, nice work!
I think it really comes down to your personal preference or what you actually want to achieve. Using Elementor and GeneratePress gives you a lot of flexibility, but you are still fundamentally using a theme. With Oxygen you have the flexibility to create your own design without the restrictions of having to manipulate the theme. Both have strengths and weaknesses :0)
Hey Paul, I think Oxygen is DOA at this point. No updates in 6 months and they stopped paying affiliates about 3 months ago. If you have noticed they don't even advertise it on Facebook anymore. All signs that they are going under, sad but doesn't surprise me.
Hey Adam. Yeah, it doesn't look too positive at the moment. I guess it's a tough market to compete in, even if you take a different approach to other tools out there.
This will be an awful shame if it's true. They made a blog post in September saying that they're working hard on Oxygen 2.0, which I certainly hope is still happening.
Any tool you use outside WP Core will increase the load time of your site I'm afraid. As for bloat, take a look at the speed tests the developer has done against many other page builders and you should see it's an improvement. :)

Looks impressive , but I think it's useful if you can code . For non-coders like me, Elementor pro with GeneratePress Pro is a better choice . There are a few things in Elementor pro which can be added to make it more complete . I would like to build my header and footer with it and I also would like to build post pages and 404 pages . I think elementor makes this possible in the future. wrapping it up , I think oxygen is good framework for people who know code and have a lot of experience building websites . This is not a tool for beginners .
Simply that it isn't a page builder in the traditional sense - so demonstrating how good it is at formatting text, for example, is missing the point. Oxygen is more of a template/theme development tool and a potentially powerful one. However, that capability wasn't really mentioned.
TitchmarshVillage to be fair, I never labeled it as a page builder. Rather, I described it more as a tool for creating sites or templates which can also leverage the functionality of page builders like Visual Composer or Elementor.
I accept that. I just wished you'd focused a bit more on the dynamic features of the plugin rather than the page-builder aspects. I like your videos immensely but on this particular occasion I came away feeling a little shortchanged!
Thanks, you covered a lot of ground in 30 min.

Check out our full demo and review of the Oxygen plugin for #Wordpress and see if this is the Ultimate Wordpress Toolkit!

I think that's key here, it's Wordpress development as opposed to just using a theme and tweaking the basic design.
I use GeneratePress Premium for my base and Elementor Pro for building.
It looks great. is there any way to make drop down menus? any tutorial? Thanks
What would happen if you instal Oxygene on existing web page built by Elemetor and hence having some theme as foundation?

WPTuts thanks. This theme building functionality is what I was looking for!
My pleasure - I hope you'll find it fits your needs :0)
This may even compete with Beaver Builder and Beaver Themer. Very impressive.
Would love to see some more tutorials on this
We may well add some additional tutorials on Oxygen in the near future :0)
How does this handle sidebars? The example pages on Oxygen's website don't contain any sidebars, which I guess is telling.
would love to see more video about Oxygen in 2020 @@
Hi have you got a link to that code? I can't see it properly.. thanks
Is there a free version of oxygen plugin
How does this compare to Beaver Themer? I know they have Pods integration and I have been looking for the best solution for styling custom post types.

still elementor is best page builder out there, you can compare it
Any review or comparison of Beaver Builder?
Discover Roatan Excursions & Tours not yet but I may see about adding one in the near future if there enough call for it. 👍🏻

If you had to pick Oxygen or Elementor with GeneratePress which would you choose?
JoeGator23 I think it depends , but I would go for Elementor. I think oxygen is nice if you know all the scripts used in WordPress , such as Java and PHP.

looks interesting, but i choose oceanWP theme with bundle extension + elementor pro is better than any theme
Does this bloat the code like other page builders ?

Do they work to improve Oxygan
How many websites run Oxygen

I'd suggest getting in touch with the developers (oxygenapp.com) and I'm sure they'll be able to supply you with that type of info. :0)
Well, you never said we have to pay to use the pre-build components my friend...what's up with that???
Great

Oxygen is really much too complicated. User Interface (UI) not well organized!
I have to say I think this video completely misses the point of Oxygen.
TitchmarshVillage would you care to elaborate on the comment? 👍

TitchmarshVillage that's fair enough.. I guess I can't always hit the mark.. 🤘 Oxygen is a pretty complex plug in with a steep learning curve.
Paid promotion...
N.M R yes it is, as mentioned within the first part of the video. 👍
I know...just making a point.
